gigi1234, glad you got it going.  This discussion was productive for me too, I had been looking for breakouts that had more than 12 connectors and you pointed me to a couple, thanks!

tnx for the answers, i have these to breakout boards, one has sync connector(floppy), one hasnt because has autosync feature:
- This Breakout Board Adapter built-in Sync ON / OFF switch:
- Retains its state - Switch the button to A, if mining rig suddenly loses power, the PSU will start automatically when power is reset.
- Sync ON / OFF - Switch the button to B, the main power supply and the secondary power supply can power ON/OFF simultaneously.

so I should put brekaout board that has sync floppy connector at main PSU and other one that has auto sync at 2nd PSU? Also i dont have to connect 1st brekaout board withy sync floppy cable to anthying?

these are the brekaoutboards:

My first thought is that you may not need multiple power supplies to run your rig if you are drawing less than 1200 watts, do you have a wattmeter to check?  Your breakout boards will also support a 1600w psu which would be another option to stay with one psu if you need less than 1600w.  I have several rigs with 6 or even 8 gpus that draw less than 1200w.  You may need to tune the settings and under volt to get below the threshold for one psu.

I haven't tried the sync function on breakout boards, but I would assume you need to set the switch to sync on both for that function to work.  Its not clear to me the benefit of the reboot function as any motherboard will boot itself when the power comes back on if you set it to start on power on in the bios.  Since you have two different breakout boards, I would test the sync function  before hooking it up to your miner to verify that the pinouts on the boards are compatible.

If you need to go with the two psus, I would power the board and the first few GPUs with one PSU and the rest of the gpus with the 2nd PSU.  I have done this before and it works.  If you are using psu's that can be synced like the Antec HCP, hook up the sync cord so they both turn on and off together.  Alternatively, you need to make sure to turn on psu 2 then psu 1.  When you shutoff, do it in the opposite order: 1 and then 2.

this is the way i have my onda d8p (a similar mobo), all mobo connections and a 2-3 gpus on one psu, and the remaining gpus 6/8 pin connectors on the 2nd.

i used a add2psu (a relay) to control both psus from the motherboard power button. makes it easier as you dont have to worry about the order of psus turning on/off. not strictly needed though.

Sounds like a good working solution.  I wasn't quite clear on one part of your description.  If your GPUs have two PCIE connectors, both connectors from each GPU should be hooked to the same PSU.  I believe you described it this way but I wasn't quite sure.

Having one bigger psu would be better for reliability purposes since there would be less chance for power abnormalities.

I like yours better, all on one page and more like what I am familiar with.  I am hopeful you will release it to the group.

Yes, I just recently purchased an X9.  Do you have a question about it?

Anybody know what is going on at Octominer?  They stopped responding to my emails about a week ago.  I was in the middle of getting some support from them on one of my boards where one slot stopped working.  Emails to sales@octominer.com and RMA@octominer.com are getting returned. Emails to info@octominer.com are getting received but I am not getting a response.

I'm a little concerned about putting in an order until I figure out what is going on.

Hey!
OCTOMINER here, it might be that there is a problem with the email server and our emails to you are not going through. For some reason we have been experiencing this issue in the last month with a few email addresses. Otherwise we have been available daily and our team has been actively replying all customer emails.
Please PM me your email address you have contacted us and your ORDER ID. I will have somebody look into the issue right now and get in touch with you.
Thank you.

I wanted to let everybody know that my issue appears to have been some sort of a one-time email server issue.  They responded to my reply and we worked out a solution to the failed slot.  They also promptly shipped me an additional board I purchased.  I really hope these guys survive the downturn as their boards are the easiest to setup and have the lowest total cost of ownership with all costs considered.

Are the usb ports 3.0/3.1 or 2.0?

Finsky, just checking in to see if you have recovered and are back in business.  I am looking for 2880 and 4K breakout boards.

The pool is still running but the stats page is in transition and not working at this time.  If your miner status page shows it is connected and it shows that it is mining you are good-to-go.  You might want to confirm you still have access to your wallet--haven't forgot the password or etc.

If Eligius doesn't have your bitcoin address then they won't be able to send you your bitcoin so you should update it asap.

"To use, just point your miner to stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 (or http://gbt.mining.eligius.st:9337 for GBT) with username set to the bitcoin address you want paid."  You can keep the password blank or put anything in that field."

Eligius does not require registration, you just use your bitcoin address like below.  The stats are currently being changed so they are currently not working.  During the transition you need to look at the stats page on your miner to confirm you are connected and view your mining speed.

Wizkid, given we don't have any on-line stats, can you provide the current hashrate of Eligius?  Just trying to get a feel of our luck / timeframe until we find our next block.

We are currently all paid up.  If we find a block, hopefully we will receive a payout shortly thereafter.

Given the upcoming soft and hard forks, what is Eligius's position on the matter?

If I am not mistaken, the Monarch runs off an app on the PC connected with a usb cable.  You might try a different usb cable, rebooting the PC and / or reinstalling the app before giving up.

My miners are running fine and showing that the pool is still alive.  I would try to point it to another pool and do a cold boot--fully disconnecting power and booting it back up.

Can anybody recommend specific boards, GPUs and/or methods that have been successfully used to get 7, 8 or more GPUs mining per rig with EthOS?
20  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: IBM DPS-4KW PSU (Dual DPS-2000BB) Breakout Boards and Packages!!! on: February 27, 2017, 06:23:31 PM
It looks like a good PSU, but it only has 18 pairs of outputs which would only give you 3 full pcie connectors and you would need to install the plugs yourself.  The wires look like 14ga wire so I suspect they are expecting users to only use one pair for each PCIE plug--2 pins per 6 pin plug.  Even this approach would only power a single S7 or S9.  I have seen several S7s catch fire with this approach so I wouldn't recommend it.  At least some versions of the S7 don't have thick enough input power traces to handle this much current on a subset of traces and overheat.  You could probably make a custom breakout wire harness to split the current out to all the pins but that would be a lot of work.  They do mention they are adding a version with 16 pcie plugs which would save some manual labor, however, the issues noted don't go away.

I plan to stick with the DPS-4KWs.
