61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][P3D] P3dCOIN EC20 Possable Unversial Basic Income on: March 29, 2018, 11:58:57 AM
okay, so this is the new ANN thread? Because the other one i locked, its not possible to post there anymore. But why? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3182802.0

the contract already holds 42130.30 ETH, which gives one P3D a price of: 0.00999 ETH/P3D

It would be nice to add a display on the exchange site, that shows the current supply, so people don't have to open etherscan.

What are your estimations on the price?

63  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Capitalizations are misleading on: March 29, 2018, 01:10:49 AM
Here is something I just realized today and I believe there is a lot of users who never thought about it.

As the title says: Cryptocurrency Market Capitalizations are misleading

When you look at the chart of Total Crypto Market Capitalization like this one on coinmarketcap, casual observer is probably thinking that we have lost more than 500B dollars of investment in cryptocurrency in one month. From almost 800B market cap has fallen to almost 250B in one moment (now we are back to almost 500B which looks much nicer).

However this is nowhere near the truth.
As most of you probably know Market cap = price x total coins in circulation which sounds ok until you give some thought to price and total coins factor. You don't know how much of total coins are available for trading and how much is in long-term storage or lost. The market cap of the coin doesn't tell you how much money is entering or leaving that market.

I don't know how to actually explain the problem so i will try with the example.
Lets say I have a total supply of the coin: 1.000 coins
I sell to my friend 1 coin for 10$
Market cap is now: 10$ x 1.000 = 10.000 $
My friend sells that same coin to his friend for 2$
Market cap is now: 2$ x 1.000 = 2.000$
So you could come to conclusion that my project lost 8.000$ dollars while in fact only few dollars changed hands and only 1 coin has been sold. 999 coins stayed in long-term storage. This is of course highly unrealistic example but I hope you get the point.

It is really difficult to get to correct numbers for the amount of dollars that crypto investments lost during this crisis, but most people/articles seems to agree it should be in the range of 50B dollars. Nowhere near 500B as the market cap would lead you to believe. Same goes for the bull runs as well. When you take above into consideration then the whole thing with volatility in the market is much easier explained.

I hope I have given you something to think about. If this is mentioned in some other topic please put the link in the reply because I haven't stumbled on the matter trough my browsing of the forums.

you are totally right. Only a few people understand that..

They keep saying: "But look how much money left the market" and "new money has to flow back into the market". The only thing it takes are thin order books and some whales who have ambitions to start a new bull run. Orderbooks are already that thin, that it takes literally only a few btc to take some coins to x5 or more.

so many newbie accounts, shilling the platform. Coincidence?

what was the price for the 1st people who bought in to the platform? Because the bitcointalk thread exist only since today.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN {PoWH3D}🚀 PROOF OF WEAK HANDS 🚀 1,937 ETH INVESTED SO FAR 🚀 NO ICO on: March 24, 2018, 10:16:59 AM
I asked about your team because you label yourself as an exchange which means:

You must meet certain requirements to operate in the United States (whether or not your HQ is in the United States) your exchanges does not prohibit US citizens from participating. Do you have an SEC registration number for your securities if you are allowing US Citizens to trade on your exchange.

In your discord your "team" is accessible but we do not know who you are. Asking people to use your exchange without showing the identity of your team lacks transparency. What system do you have in place to reimburse investors in your exchange if your contract is hacked or malicious code is entered into your website to have individuals deposit funds into another contract without their knowledge?

These are not FUD questions, these are legitimate questions. Given the nature of MLM websites stealing funds from its users like Bitconnect, Falconcoin, Hextracoin, Davor and others, these are things you should transparently explain when advertising your exchange to potential investors.

Also, it seems based on your contract that your team has the ability to manipulate the value of P3D. If I am incorrect, please explain how the price of P3D is determined.

From the outside, it seems your site is a smart contract version of the other Ponzi/Scam sites. Again, if I am incorrect please provide information that explains otherwise.

You have a nice project but calling yourself an exchange and allowing people to invest without adhering to SEC and other regional laws puts your platform and its investors at risk.

Who controls the smart contract? Is it multiple owners? Where are the funds stored that people use to buy into your pyramid investment. It's important to know these things.
The "Funds" are on the Ethereum Blockchain in the contract address, that is where they are stored.  There is no "Wallets", only THE contract address,  and the personal contract addresses of P3D token holders, of which they control the private keys.

As you can see from the FAQ's above the rest of these questions you have asked are already answered for you, here it is again for you in case you missed it.

While it's possible to program rules into a smart contract to allow some editing. The only features the developers made editable are the name of the token and the price of the masternode feature.

The development team intentionally did not program in a way for them to access the Eth or tokens in this game. It is run entirely 100% autonomously by the code you can read open-source on the smart contract. No humans are allowed to or even able to intervene. Period.

People claim that no one owns the contract but the contract was deployed from the creator. Does the creator of the contract have the ability to withdraw all funds at once?
There is no claim that "no one owns the contract", obviously the Developers created it and therefore own it, however once it is deployed ownership does not come into play as there are rules within the contract to prevent any altering, or tampering/accessing funds.  Neither the Developers or anyone else can alter/change/manipulate the Smart Contract once it is deployed, it is immutable and entirely autonomous.

Further to that, the Smart Contract and what is written into it is there for all to read, it is totally transparent so if you want someone who knows about coding to run over it feel free, there is nothing to hide, it is all out in the open.  Here is the link to the Smart Contract, click on the "Contract Source" to see the actual code.  https://etherscan.io/address/0xb3775fb83f7d12a36e0475abdd1fca35c091efbe#code

Who is the team behind this project? Do you intend to be transparent given the fact you are technically an exchange operating in the United States?

Thanks for responding.
The team of Devs are on the Discord, if you want to speak to them personally feel free to drop by the channel and they will communicate directly with you.  And we are not operating in the United States, nor is that relevant.

The Token, the Exchange, and the Blockchain are all Decentralized, we are operating wherever you have an internet connection.   Wink

Thank you for your questions.

Those are really reasonable things to bear in mind. Looking forward to a statement from PoWH3D about the concerns you listed. Will surely wait for that, before I buy in.

What was the starting price per token? now its 0.00688 ETH.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Get yourself some Elicoin with cpu-mining while you can on: March 23, 2018, 09:14:29 AM
i can see there is only 1 exchange for this coin ,,
so just curious if it is profitable to mine it ??

with core i5 8th gen cpu how much coins can we generate from 24 hours ?

i have an i5 6th gen, 6600T, and its running with about 6 to 700h/s. I get at least 9 coins per day. 0.11-0.15 every 15 mins. I run the cpuminer-opt-3.8.4 from command line.

maybe something to add: i use the recommended mining pool. and if you run the miner, you will have different executables to run. I use the one avg/avx

68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN will be dead? on: March 22, 2018, 06:42:56 PM
Everything in the market faces ups and downs. Bitcoin is also a part of it. Bitcoin is in news from such statements from last many years but still it is alive. So there is nothing like death/end for the bitcoin. People who are spreading or sharing such news on social media platforms even they don't have clear understanding about the bitcoin and the power of virtual currency. Bitcoin is growing globally. So future of bitcoin is bright.
You stole the words right out of my mouth. Why don't people think like you? So many people(Mainly newbie investors) think that Bitcoin and the crypto market will collapse due to bad news and FUD at any particular moment which is absurd and such people need to improve their knowledge regarding cryptocurrencies. One thing I have learned after stepping into this market is that crypto is here to stay.

I was initially reluctant to invest any amount of money into Bitcoin or any other altcoin due to the extreme volatility involved, but decided to take the risk which paid off in a big way. This is a high risk high reward market.

One thing that really concerns me is that everyday there will be made so much money in the crypto space. People lose money and other people earn money. And those who earn big time, have the power to repeat their strategy over and over again. I don't have a problem with that, as many people don't have, whether they know about this or not. The thing that concerns me, is that sooner or later someone will end this party I guess, for the benefit of the plain commonalty. Because they are the one who get reckt most.

On the other side, all other big businesses in the world are running great and let the average joe pay for it... So there could be a good chance that it won't stop for a while, if everything keeps running.

isnt that a bit much for cpu mining?
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.8.4, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: March 20, 2018, 08:18:36 PM
...

can you link a post where someone explains how to run the miner. which command etc. that would be really nice. Or maybe link that specific post or instructions in the ANN post?

cpuminer-aes-sse42 -h

replace cpuminer-aes-sse42 with the build your using, pools will also have quickstart commands/options listed

ok. so i just have to type this when i'm in the specific path of the cpuminer. where do i know what build I'm using?
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.8.4, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: March 20, 2018, 07:25:34 PM
cpuminer-opt-3.8.4

Added yescryptr32 algo for WAVI coin.
Added URL to API data.
Improved detection of __int128 support (Linux only)
Compile support for CPUs without SSSE3 (no binary support)

https://github.com/JayDDee/cpuminer-opt/releases/tag/v3.8.4

Additional notes:

This release may fix some recently reported compile issues related to unsupported
SIMD instructions and lack of support for __int128. This may help some older AMD CPUs
and Linux distributions that previously failed to compile.

There may be some other unknown underlying issues so YMMV. In particular Centos 6
requires a newer version of gmp that is avalable for that release.

There is no Windows binary for CPUs with SSE2 but not SSSE3. cpuminer-sse2 is built for
Intel Core2 which includes SSSE3. However, I can be bribed.

hello,

can you link a post where someone explains how to run the miner. which command etc. that would be really nice. Or maybe link that specific post or instructions in the ANN post?
