What is the ASIC Quality % of the card that you tested to achieve the numbers above ?

81%

nearly all of BFLs problems will go away if they get rid of pre-orders meaning they build as many units as they can, put for sale - customers receive units within days (since units are on hand) and when they run out remove the order button. Build more units and repeat

taking pre-orders and having people wait 3 months to receive them brings a lot negativity
4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 results with a kill-a-watt on: May 30, 2012, 05:28:49 AM
Doesn't this ignore the power pulled from the slot? Do we just assume ATX spec is being pulled from the slot?

The best test is to measure the entire system at rest and at load.  That will tell you the true usage of the card.  The card will consume power when idle, but since the computer isn't going to idle, it isn't a concern.

will test entire system when I get my parts for a low power MB+CPU combo and see how it affects the numbers

dropping the memory for some reason dropped the hash ~10 (using diablo)

EDIT: my bad, I see what you're saying... fixed it

I've plugged a 7970 into a seasonic 400x without anything else plugged into the psu and here are the results straight from the wall: (all settings done with afterburner - REMEMBER these numbers are only for one card not the system)

STOCK

core volt: 1.112
core clock: 925
mem volt: 1.600
mem clock: 1375
idle: 26.5w

MHash/s: 550

===============================================

core volts / core clock / mem volt / mem clock / load / mhash - mhash per watt

1.112 / 925 / 1.500 / 685 / 238w / 550 - 2.31

0.975 / 1000 / 1.500 / 150 / 155w / 584 - 3.76
0.975 / 1000 / 1.500 / 340 / 158w / 590 - 3.73

I'm going to do a few more different combinations until I find one that produces the best hashes for watt. I'm gonna add more so keep watching and if you want me to try a combo let me know.
7  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1155 socket MB with 5+ pcie slots on: May 26, 2012, 05:37:30 AM

The only problem with Z77 boards right now is that if you install a Sandy Bridge CPU the last PCIe slot will not work.  Until Intel comes out with an el cheapo Ivy Bridge CPU, your best bet if you wanted to use an Intel board is P67 or Z68.

ASRock Z68 Extreme4
EVGA Z68 SLI ← probably your best bet for maximum slots (three x16, three x1)

Other options if you can get them cheap:
Asus P8P67 PRO or EVO
Asus P8Z68-V or -V PRO

will the intel celeron G440: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116410

dont know if its a sandy bridge or not

thats what I was looking for, you can fit 7 cards with riser like these http://www.amazon.com/BestDealUSA-Ribbon-Extension-Extender-Adapter/dp/B006DQRUZ8/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1334429648&sr=1-1

any suggestions for an intel 1155 MB with 5+ pcie slots?

I want to pair it with an underclocked $41 Celeron G440 1.6GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116410

I was also looking for one, I went with this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131822

It has 4 slots, but I guess it's good enough. I also went with a 3770k.

that actually has 6 if you use risers but at $340 ouch! this will be just for mining with the absolute min power consumption (MB+CPU+MEM) hence the underclocked celeron. I dont need top of the line MB if it just for mining.

How did you get your memclock < 710?  Did you bios flash?

No, Just used MSI Afterburner.

I don't think it works anymore, I changed to mode=2, moved the slider all the way down to 340, saved, closed, reopened and the slider was still all the way down to 340  Sad

Close it and delete the 3 .cfg files that start with VEN at this location. \MSI Afterburner\Profiles\

When you start it again and it asks you to reboot just hit no.

worked, thank you  Grin

anyway to get the mem voltage lower than 1500

I've downloaded diablo, i go to cmd and type DiabloMiner-Windows.exe -u myuserID@email.com -p mypassword -o pit.deepbit.net -r 8332

but it keeps saying cannot connect/or invaild user name... they are all correct
