Mining is down for me atm.

At the url you gave me a while back to set the miners to.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL FPGA on: September 14, 2013, 12:29:48 PM
Three ASICMiner USB sticks do an aggregate 1000mh/s, use one tenth the electricity and are silent.

They can now be found for $15 or less each.

IMO, a BFL Single FPGA is worth less than $50.
3  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: September 10, 2013, 03:03:07 AM
Will you be selling again due to the 0.10 price drop?

Nope. Not me.
<lol>

My sympathies, Arklan.
But now that it's done, also my thanks for what you got done.

Status report:
My half dozen were received on Saturday.

All have been in service since Saturday night, about 48 hours, and are performing within spec.
I.e., getting the expected just less than 1% error rate, same as the original / older two, with no anomalous glitches or other issues to cause concern.

IOWs, there won't be any need / requests for replacement(s) from me.
(IMO, within a couple months or so it won't be worth the hassle and cost of shipping to replace a failed unit. So, close enough, deal done / closed.)

All y'all enjoy your hashing, I'm out of here - no longer watching this thread.

<lol>

I've never before had the concept of "nano-huge".

-- edit

Kinda similar to "hung like a hamster-horse", I reckon.

Or I think I might prefer:
"Hung like a bull-hamster".          Cheesy

Hello EvilLizardApparel,

Just wanted to let you know that MiniRig line was not slowed down in any way, we were just waiting for new boards to arrive to the facility.

Regards,
Nasser
Now that is priceless.

BFL "was not slowed down in any way", "we were just waiting".

*Now* I understand.

Tracking info:

...
I'll get them to you guys tonight, though it might be late. I won't be back there till after 10 my time.
...
7  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: September 06, 2013, 04:34:40 AM
... Make your deals and let me know.
...
Why?

At this point, why are you involved?

Have they been shipped or not?

If shipped, then any deals are between the owners and the bidders.

Or, do you want to be involved "ad infinitum" in all exchanges which have 'passed through your hands'?

-- edit

At this point, even though it is substantially past '10pm local time', I have yet to receive tracking info. Therefore, at the time of making this post I'm still vulnerable to potential 'capricious actions'.
8  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: September 04, 2013, 07:12:33 PM
With a tracking number I can swing by the house when a package is delivered and pick it up.

Without it, each day I get to wonder if a package is gonna still be sitting on the front step by the time I get home.

Which do you think is a more comfortable status?

9  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: August 24, 2013, 07:40:50 PM
No further description necessary.
No?

1) We have no idea if or when ASICMiner will 'release' another batch at this "coupon" price.
2) We have no idea if ASICMiner does so, if they will release the 'rest' of them, or perhaps a 'second third'.

Bottom line, at this point we have no idea who will be able to get what quantity delivered under this deal.

-- edit

Therefore, it is highly questionable just what you are purporting to 'sell'.
10  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: August 24, 2013, 07:33:40 PM
selling my 14 units for 0.23 each.
No, you are accepting pre-orders for your units at 0.23 each.

Perhaps for delivery in "four to six weeks".

Hello, BFL.   Tongue
11  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 24, 2013, 07:29:35 PM
I will take your units if Arklan is okay with transferring them to me.  PM sent
IMO, neil, you're attempting to jump a line.

Seems to me that, until the units allegedly become available again, all cancellations should go back to an 'available' pool.

Then, those that have hung around long enough should be asked about their desire for a portion of those which have become available.
12  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: August 22, 2013, 03:07:52 AM
Thanks for the patience guys.
There is frustration, but I recognize that its not your fault.

IOWs, I believe in your good faith and that you're just as 'irritated' as the rest of us with this.

With hindsight, things might have been done better. But isn't that always the case?
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Raspberry Coins - Cyclone V - 28nm based FPGA miner on: August 17, 2013, 05:09:17 AM
... I wouldn't quite count out the FPGA technology just yet ...
Are we there yet?

You're probably safe enough.

But, IMO, you are being insufficiently paranoid. Smiley

The more data points we have, the easier it is to crack your encryption.

IOWs, IMO, you should have sent this data as a pseudo-private email.
15  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 16, 2013, 09:07:01 PM
Well, I accept we both can't know the future and that this is a gamble.  We'll see how it plays out.
Yep.

It all pretty much depends on that sustained difficulty rate of growth.

For those who must pay for electricity:

GPU miners 'should' pretty much all be out by now.

Looks to me that FPGA miners will start mining at a loss around this November.
16  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 16, 2013, 08:45:43 PM
Too much $$$$$  Now..

How do you figure?

It all depends on your assumptions, of course.

For example, in what you pasted is the assumption that mining with these started two weeks ago.

Try it again with a start date of September, two weeks from now, and see what you get.
I do think it more realistic that these will be in our hands in two weeks rather than two weeks in the past.  Smiley

Using this one: http://www.coinish.com/calc/#
comes out to a loss of about 5% per unit over 12 months of operation at this purchase price and delivery in two weeks.

As to the second batch - i've had no word from friedcat about them being restocked or anything. Anyone seen him posting anywhere? I did message him.

Just caught this; does this mean those that aren't marked as "Packed/Labeled" have to wait for friedcat to restock?

Damn it.
Afraid so, bigben.

And this has been known for a week now.

Rumor is that ASICMiner was to get new stock this past weekend. (Two days ago.)

Remains to be seen if that happened and then how long until ASICMiner ships to Arklan - so that he can then ship to us.

I thought those unpaid had until midnight last night to pay, after which the devices would be re-allocated if still not paid?

the unpaid 11 i'm giving a day. if i haven't heard by midnight saturday, they'll get give out to thos who asked for extra but didn't get a 4th.
