BFL is looking worse by the day. Wow, I don't know where to start with this one, since you clearly lack any understanding of how these rigs work. First of all, this woman is testing FPGA boards. Since the vast majority of those boards worked just fine, I'd say she's done her job fairly successfully. Even entire QA teams fail to spot every single dud product. Secondly, the issue with Giga's rig was with the PSU, which should have been tested by Thermaltake (who, by the way, do have an entire QA team). Hereforth, we can deduce that BFL's QA tester has done her job better in this instance than Thermaltake's (presumably young male) QA tester.

For those of you who are skeptical of my credibility: Well, you cannot deny that starting a competing business is not quite fair. I mean: could one person be a CEO of Samsung, Microsoft, Google and Apple at the same time? If that person started all of the companies, then yes, they very well could. I don't plan on this competing with GLBSE assets, because it will be a more private one. I'll be back in about an hour to answer further questions. Garr, the issue here is if all of those companies were private wholly owned by an individual or company it would not be an issue. The issue comes up with diluting shareholder value of Cognitive by starting up competing companies. This isn't a company, it's a joint venture.

My solution:
Open up a pre–order list from Monday till mid–july, then close it.
This will give everyone ample time to order
Make an inventory of what has been ordered and start producing exactly that amount
When all the pre–Orders have been produced, pack them and ship them off at the same day in october, be it jalapenos, singles or rigs.
That way everone will receive their products around the same time
This is the most fair proposal I've heard. +1. Announcing a preorder a day before you do it and not even posting the announcement on your website is a little.. weird. +2. Fair for everyone. +3 this is a fair solution. +4 BFL please read this and change your plans.

I concur with a lot of the posts here, please open pre-orders at a set time, for a set period, and make sure that everybody who orders in that period has their products shipped simultaneously.
Ideally, limit the value of those orders per customer to ensure that you do the best you can not to be a part of a 51% attack.

Correct, GTCs are legal to trade for cash and are not against CCPs EULA. The reason CCP does not allow RMT is because of macro miners and account thieves, neither of which can get a GTC for you.

I actually only have 64-bit operating systems, but since SSE2 is CPU-based, it's not really comparable to the CUDA (GPU) results and should be able to be tested on just about anything.
If you want to update the assembler code for a 64-bit CPU, I'd be willing to test it, but I expect that's a lot of work and not as simple as just using 64-bit registers (my asm knowledge is very rusty).
I'll run the program next time I nap and post results here if it finishes during that nap.

Underclocking the RAM, and undervolting the card, is often helpful when your card overheats, but if the heating is significant you'll probably have to invest in a case fan or a new case with better airflow dynamics.
