141  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How about this for a rig? on: April 19, 2013, 01:16:40 AM
Consider to buy 1200W PSU. You config is likely to drain 1000W~1100W if you will be able to cool it well.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7950x4 LTC Mining Build Check on: April 19, 2013, 01:04:42 AM
I've build it with 1200 PSU and using sempron cpu. It takes 1400W on full speed, so warning, it needs 1500W PSU!

I built recently 4x7950. Mining on full speed(gpu 1100 mem 1400) takes more than 1400W. 160W while idle.

Is there an sdk to create my own altcoins?
145  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: How can automate cgminer starting in screen on linuxcoin restart on: April 15, 2013, 07:25:07 AM
There is no lxsession directory for ubuntu, so it does not work.

147  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Need help setting up Ubuntu 12.04 LTS for BTC mining on: April 10, 2013, 10:11:13 PM
I installed driver using this:
Code:
sudo apt-get install fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle-updates fglrx-updates-dev
I see that was the command to use on 7xxx series. Will it still work fine for 5xxx and 6xxx? Was trying to install for 5850's.

After I run that, can I move onto step "IV. Config AMD Driver", and continue the guide?

I don't know, sorry :-( Seems the only way to do custom config is to clearly understand what each command does and why it is for.

Yep, using Ubuntu is really painful. I spent 8 hours only to make wifi connect to my router. It is not an issue in any other operation system for pc/tablet/phone.

Finally I installed system (ubuntu 32) and drivers using this howto https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Gw7YPYgMgNNU42skibULbJJUx_suP_CpjSEdSi8_z9U/preview?pli=1&sle=true
and cgminer using http://rdmsnippets.com/tag/ubuntu-mining-rig/

(cgminer requires COMPILING to make it work for ubuntu 32, well it is pure insanity. That compiling requires installation of several others SDK). So I think that spending several hundred bucks for windows + hdd instead using ubuntu on a usb stick saves you tons of brain cells.
150  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: First Rig mining slow (4x7950s) (130Mh/s per) on: April 10, 2013, 03:49:49 PM
Same issue for me with Gigabyte 4x4950 on Ubuntu 32. Only one gpu is in use while cgminer happily says that all cards are mining. nothing helps.

I don't have dummy plug but looks like it is the only option to fix the issue. So Ubuntu DOES NEED dummy plugs.
151  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [HowTo] Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop 32-bit mining install guide on: April 10, 2013, 02:00:46 AM
Seems these scripts does not work anymore. Ubuntu does not have aptitude and driver installation fails :-(

The question is how to power 4th videocard :-/
153  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Rigs run on 220v on: April 06, 2013, 04:52:34 AM
Those of you who run your rigs on 220v, how do you do it? I know some servers are run on 220v and use a PDU (Power Distribution Unit) which is like a power strip. These however are very expensive!

Do you create your own cables/outlets? or am I missing something?

Why do you need your own cables/pdus? When 1kWt of power is 9AX110V, the same kwatt for 230V is only 4.3A. So cables for 230 are lighter and cheaper. I remember when I just came to US I noticed that all cables are so heavy there :-)
154  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: March 30, 2013, 04:03:35 AM
Hi, Slush!

Thanks for all the tweaks you made recently on web site, I really appreciate that.

I have one more small wish, it does not sound hard to implement, but it would be really nice to have a chart of daily profitability for last 30 days or so. Or limit the existing chart to ~2 month.

Thanks!
155  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [4000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: March 10, 2013, 07:17:20 AM
Logo became bigger, so there is less useful space on right side and in statistics table each row takes 3 lines
(1
confirmations
left)

The site design was not great before the logo size change and now it became worse :-(

Thanks for the previous site updates, though, but navigation is still can be done much better. For example, btcguild have "24h earnings" value is accessible with no clicks whatsoever and it's placed on the most visible place. On the mining.bitcoin.cz you have to click at least twice and scroll one page to get approximately the same info (that miners are working fine and everything is okay)

Thanks for the pool and your support anyway. It's the best even with the ui.

ps my screen res is 1280x800

Oops. I've checked the store app and found that Yandex.Money is not supported yet. Weird...
160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I want to sell Android apps for Bitcoin! on: February 27, 2013, 11:26:27 PM
The yandex.store supports yandex.money payments and yandex.money can be purchased at btc-e.
