This has been mentioned before and also confused me. No answer from BFL on that I think?
82  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 31, 2012, 04:13:35 AM
btw: just in case anyone does not know - BFL ripped this idea off from me and is proud of doing so....

Well your idea was a hell of a lot better than buying individual sigs. I would have copied it too.

RE: Prize. Unsure if it comes out of stock and jumps the queue, or goes to the single production queue. Will find out soon I am sure Smiley.
83  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 31, 2012, 03:52:00 AM
btw: Psilan:

Has anyone in any of the BFL contests received their prizes yet?

I'm not sure sorry. I actually just won week 4, so I will definitely update when I get it. The odds of winning were higher on the BFL forums. Your thread was too long. Smiley

I won a Single, then Little SC upgrade when they are released. My sig stays out of gratitude for winning.

I got a reply after 4 days today, which is fine for me since my order is in the bag. Just sorting shipping.
87  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which ASIC device will ship first? [Poll and Discussion] on: October 30, 2012, 07:20:49 PM
I understood they were both just waiting for parts.
Bfl wait for a fab house, basic waiting on parts to assemble themselves.

Stolen from https://forums.butterflylabs.com/showthread.php/251-More-Jalapeno-Pictures-amp-Shipping-Update

Quote from: BFL_Josh;
Attached are some more pictures of the Jalapeno.  It's in one of it's prototype homes, but the design is changed and we are waiting on the updated box to be delivered now.  However, the fundamental design will remain unchanged, just some cosmetic changes (laser etched top, no silver, etc...)

We are not going to make the first half of November shipping goal.  Right now, I want to say fourth or fifth week of November, but lots of little issues have cropped up, pushing the shipping date out a bit here and there. To be on the safe side, I would estimate the end of November / beginning of December as a likely ship date.  We've had some trouble sourcing the VFD screens for the Minirig SC; the wharehouse told us they had about 5x as many screens as they really have on hand, so we are coming up short.  The good news is that we've come up with an alternate solution that is so full of awesome, I am going to save that for a later update. It is, however, necessitating a redesign of the Minirig SC case, though it won't really affect the timeline in any material fashion, as it's just one part that needs to be changed a bit to accommodate the new screen.

We are also still waiting on the HSF for the Single SC to show up - the factory has been a bit slow in that department, so that set things back a bit.

We expect the final chip versions to be in our hands in ~25 days, with final assembly and shipping to begin a few days after that.

Same way I tried to find you, but didn't notice that particular spelling error. Nice work.

There are so many of these things now, after the Pi's success. It's amazing they still get funding.

Anagrams....

bASIC = ISCAB
Butterfly Labs = Beta Blurts Fly
AVALON = ?
ASICMINER = Re Scam I In
94  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Looks like ASIC's have been deployed on: October 28, 2012, 08:17:30 AM
Exactly. This is variance. There is no sign that 3-4 Thash/s have been added to the network.

Another graph:

Halloween is officially here at Bitcointalk  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I swear there have been more weirdos on lately! Now I know why!
96  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which ASIC device will ship first? [Poll and Discussion] on: October 28, 2012, 08:10:26 AM
I was certain it would be BFL, but not so sure anymore.

I think bASIC or BFL will ship, then whoever lost the race will ship whatever they have the same day to whoever they can.

We just have a different scale of genius.

To break out the dictionary/wikipedia as you like
..."typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of unprecedented insight."

All these bitstream guys are pretty talented though.

Let's not get out of hand and call BTC machine makers genius inventors. Tongue

Although BFL is compared to intel and Apple quite often on these forums!

Don't worry, I have never been offended. You can sleep easy tonight.
There is also no attack, so you can relax. I had no idea this had made you distressed (seeing your reply now).

Were you surprised when Tom/Nzhang (as you say) ignored an email full of fluff? You are very judgmental.
