81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC (Classic Ethereum) presented their Declaration of Independence on: August 13, 2016, 08:23:30 AM
I would like to see ETC staying PoW and let ETH go PoS... I think PoS will be a disaster like all other PoS coins ever, long term something always goes south.

I think the ETH will not convert to PoS in the next few years. It has supported a big industry and the hard forked was supported by miners.

The next few years? The Ethereum development team has already said that they will switch to Casper in 9 months. So expect another fork. Some speculators even say we may even have 3 or 4 Ethereums next year due to more forks thanks to Vitalik. Cheesy

That could be right. So there will another pure PoW Ethereum. So maybe it is safer to stay in the PoW Ethereum.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: August 13, 2016, 08:21:33 AM
i think that it will be really possible because may people will get into bitcoins
Highly unlikely. Bitcoin is a tech-driven kind of currency. The mere mention of digital scares some people right away. The number of bitcoin users is still very small and we are already in the year 2016. I don't think six more years of bitcoin's existence is going to be enough for it to make the crossover to mass media appreciation, and eventually usage.

We will see major growth in the users of bitcoin till then and it will be also used and accepted at many places but its hard to imagine that almost everyone will start using it.
thats true, the use of the bitcoins is growing really fast right now and the user count is increasing at a rapid pace, i think it will make bitcoin grow

The usage of the bitcoin has increased over the years. It is indicated by the congestion of the bitcoin transaction network.
83  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price drop on: August 13, 2016, 08:20:06 AM
I do not see any price drop at the moment. The price of bitcoin is very stable. It is preparing for the next rise.
its simply because the price is not dropping right now, i think it is soon going to grow a lot
it will grow or it will not, it is too risky to predict something accurate at the moment, no one is safe that another hack of an exchange will not happen

I am 100% sure that this wasn't the last hack of an exchange that we have seen. The only thing we can hope for is that when an exchange gets hacked again, that the damage is very low. Other than that, there aren't much solid exchanges left for BTC/USD trading beside Bitstamp and Kraken.

If a small exchange is hacked and a few bitcoins are lost, the damage is low. But for the Bitfinex exchange, 120 k was hacked.

If the hacker does not move the 120k coins or sell it, then it is like holding the coins, the bitcoin price will rise.
84  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: August 13, 2016, 08:18:38 AM
Im ethereum mining. i will choose to sell my ethereum then buying etc. because the ethereum classic rate is very cheap now and the price of eth rise arround 20%

Well that is the main thing to do. Also these currency is for profit taking purposes so better take advantage when it's price pumps a little. But of course like I said, it's for profit taking only. No way it can reached that status of bitcoin today.

I think it is better not to sell the bitcoin when there is no price bubble. If the price rises to $5000 in the next 6 months, then it is better to sell some.

If the price rise about 20 percent of the current price then you can sell bitcoins. Then buy back again when the price drops, that way you will be earning more with the bitcoin you have. That is what I will do if I have some spare bitcoins to exchange.

That is what I am doing now. I bought some bitcoin recently and hold for the long time. If the price is very high, I will sell some.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will go up this week on: August 11, 2016, 02:56:10 PM
Was there any other reason for the price drop last week other than the Bitfinex hack?
If not I can almost guarantee it will be back up to $650 within the next couple weeks.
If I had a few thousand dollars extra right now I would definitely buy a couple coins.

There was not any other reason for the price drop last week other than the Bitfinex hack.  Without the back, the price could be $700 now.

Even price went down after bitfinex hack the best thing to see is price has started to rise slowly now and we can expect much higher price in next couple of months.

The bitcoin price has already rebounded to $592 after the recent price drop. I think it will be $600 in the next few days.
The price has stay at range $590-$595 for a few days sadly the gap only $5 it's really  hard to hope get a profit. yes i hope soon can touch $600

I think $600 will be touched in next 1 or 2 days and its not difficult now, real satisfaction will be when again it crosses $650 mark and it is possible to reach in next month.
Well we dont know if the price will hit again in few days but the price right now is 596 according to preev price so i think the price will go to 600 soon..
just lets hope that the price will hit soon.

In the Poloniex exchange, the bitcoin price has already hit $600. In the next few days, it could reach $600 in other exchanges.

I hope  ETC (Classic Ethereum) can get some money from the DAO hacker. Without the development, he will not get anything.

That is right. I will only sell when there is a big price bubble. Otherwise, I will keep the bitcoin for the long term.

I do not see any price drop at the moment. The price of bitcoin is very stable. It is preparing for the next rise.
its simply because the price is not dropping right now, i think it is soon going to grow a lot

it dropped only because of that stupid hack on finex, it will recover very quickly just a matter on when the next wave will begin, panic pump it's on its way

and I think a lot of people get carried away in panic by news bitfinex hack, so they sell their bitcoin.
to the current price of bitcoin has recovered, and soon returned to $600, maybe it could happen later this month.

That is my thoughts as well. I think the stability of the bitcoin price in the last few days indicates people are not panic.

In fact, the bitcoin price is quite stable now. The price is trading around $590 for a few days already.

I have used a small proportion of my bitcoin to buy the minining equipment, then I will mine more bitcoins.
90  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: August 09, 2016, 08:03:55 AM
Right now i trying to mining a lot of coins, i thinking its mabey its good to save the coins like 6-12 mdr before selling it.

Can orther explain about its a good point else about the risk its to high to lose to lot on it?
for me, sometimes, this is good, and some times, it's bad. why good? because you have a higher chance that your saved coins might have big price soon. And why bad? because if you don't have a lot of money, what are you going to spend? it is probably more advised to those who have a lot of money. For them because it's is okay to stock their coins because they have a lot of money.

I mine both the ETH and ETC, whichever is more profitable. I sell the ETC as soon as I got it to reduce the risk.

The price trend of the ETC is going down now after the pump. So it might be better to mine just the ETH.

The risk of mining the ETC is the volatility of the price. So you have to time your selling very well to profit.

the diff will adjust so i see no problem, mining is more rewarding than simply buying and hoping for a good trade

there is alkmost zero risk with mining, buying coins instead is only for those that can really afford it

That is true. I have some miners working hard for me. The electricity cost is half the revenue at the moment.
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price drop on: August 09, 2016, 08:00:41 AM
The problem is not the panic selling and the huge dump. The problem is there is no more buying happening anymore before the hack on Bitfinex occurred. I said before that I expected this to be under $600 and stay there until the end of the year. But I expected it to go under $600 around the end of August. So I guess we might see this go up above $600 for a while due to speculations but then go back down and stay there. Many of you will be discouraged by this and that will cause further dumping.

there are buyers, they are just undecided if it's good to buy now or wait for more dumping, i doubt all the 120k coins were already dumped

The Bitfinex hacker shorted the bitcoins before he did the hack. So he has already made a lot of money due to the hack.

So even thought the Bitfinex hacker does not sell the 120k hacked coin, he has already made millions of money.

Lucky for those who take advantage to buy some Bitcoins when Bitfinex was hacked. The price dropped to $520+ that time and now recovering to $600+  for a few days. Lucky bastards by hacking they become a millionaire, what an easy life for them. By the way, I would like to ask how many people involved in the hacking?  Just a one or a team?

The Bitfinex hacker made more money. He shorted the bitcoin in several exchanges before the hack.

So if the police investigate the abnormal tradings in the exchanges, the bitfinex hacker could be caught.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: August 09, 2016, 07:59:16 AM
Bitcoin won't be used by everyone not until our generation gets to be a hundred years old. That means we'd all be dead when that happens and even so people will still prefer to use fiat. Can't take that away from them, its their freedom as well

That's true, even after more than year 2022, not all will be using bitcoin.. Not all the people in the world are techy, and not all like making a transaction online and many are afraid to invest to something new.. Older generations will I guess would prefer to use their fiat than converting it to bitcoin..  Smiley
We don't need the whole world in order to be successful, as long as a good number of people are adopting bitcoins this will prosper and will give benefits for the users and the investors also.
the important its users make bitcoin prices to rise when the bitcoin increase because demand will automatically enlarged when users arrive. I sincerely
hope that users will continue to grow bitcoin possible until all mankind I'm sure if it happens I can not imagine the price of bitcoin will happen?

The bitcoin users have increased steadily. That is indicated by the number of transactions. We need to increase the block size.

0.16 bitcoin for GPU: Asus R9 290x 4gb. That is just $100 for the 290x. That is very cheap. Get as many as you can.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: August 07, 2016, 06:28:49 AM
No, bitcoin is becoming popular very fastly but i don't think it will be used by  all people in the world, the reason to that question is most people are earn an enough amount from their jobs and business so they don't need to work on bitcoin for money.

It will take some time for the bitcoin to be made popular among the world population. We need to promote it.

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum on: August 05, 2016, 09:55:42 AM
The hard fork moving through smoothly definitely boosted the confidence in Ethereum

The problem is that the Poloniex is going to support the Ethereum Classic as well. So it could cause price drop.

When the ETC drops to to below $0.1, the Poloniex and other exchanges will not support the ETC at all.

The exchanges are in for the money. So they will not list the ETC if the trading volume is less than a threshold.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price drop on: August 05, 2016, 09:54:33 AM
I do not see any price drop at the moment. The price of bitcoin is very stable. It is preparing for the next rise.
because there is no price drop at the moment, in my opinion the price of the bitcoin is going to go up only right now, though anything might happen

I believe the bitcoin will consolidate at the current level for a few more months. After that, it will rise further.

The bitcoin price is consolidating around th e$570 range now. It might rise faster after the exchange hack.

yeah the buy power is there but unfortunately there are sell walls that are preventing the rise. and these sell walls are of the kind tha whales put up not normal sell walls because of bigger supply. so i am expecting a big breakout soon.

The price might rise to $700 again. But it will not happen in the next few weeks. It could happen in October.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: August 05, 2016, 09:48:19 AM
It is said that bitcoin will destroy the fiat system but i believe that if this happens the world will change completly because banks and a lot of things will go out of market.

It will be used a lot, yes. But not by everyone for sure, because people still will be afraid of bitcoins, not everyone know about bitcoins yet, so it will take more time than that

No more than 0.1% of the world population will use the bitcoin in 2022. If it does, the price will be $100,000 each.

The Ethereum Classic will be attacked to death by the big Etherum holders. They can sell their ETC to 0.
till now,i cann't to see the attacked.

I think there will be a dump of the ETC by the big holders as well as the DAO hackers, then attack will begin then.
