Thanks for the fast reply, black halo uses the contracts file instead according to the documentation. I think I found it, crossing my fingers and hoping I can recover my coins.

So did everyone see the new feature in clear wallet for registering proof of existence within the platform? Love how the project is coming along with Peter Todd on board. I know we are using Dogeparty, but I think we should keep an eye on the project as a means of alternative to copyright.

The sec is being pressured to finish developing a plan to handle early stage equity and crypto is the way forward for that. I personally think we should use funk as a medium  for collaboration with each band/artist using an individual crypto equity. I want to do an equity offering for my fans as soon as the legal framework is finished. When I do I will personally provide liquidity to the funk market with a certain percentage of my equity offering. Not sure how this will work out but the more individual projects offering crypto equity engage in liquidity swaps and other financial deals, the faster we will see the music industry transform.

We wont know how we can do all this until the SEC issues guidlines for projects like The reddit equity offering, Overstock.com and many others working in this space. The more clear cut guidelines are for investors the easier it will be to go forward. Granted I would like to do this in a way that doesnt involve the regulatory vultures. but the world just isn't ready to approach things in any other way. So the necessary evils will persist. but it doesnt mean we cant restructure the music industry to favor artists and their fans as much as possible. Rather than corporate leeches that do nothing but drain an artists until they are quite literally, dead.

More and more people are beginning to see a new world taking shape, we are going to help mold it. this was a great read, really got me thinking. http://www.kalogiannideslaw.com/equity-crowdfunding-music-movies-books/

As soon as everyone has a regulatory framework in their respective regions getting in and out of fiat will be easy in any coin. Via is working toward this and I would assume the guys at dogeparty are as well. I wouldn't go with counterparty for many reasons. "One coin to rule them all" days are going to be over fast. especially as real business gets involved with all this. Going to bitcoin then to altcoin then to clearwallet or dogeparty will only be temporary. Full blown fiat to whatever coin exchanges are going to be here soon.
We arent going to get many people coming into this from fiat in the beginning anyway. I don't think short changing ourselves because bitcoin is the king should be the case. Quite frankly, I am growing a strong distaste for bitcoin and it will be increasingly important as we move forward to allow people to move fluidly from fiat to other alts without the entrapment of the bitcoin cartel.

Bitcoin was not distributed fairly, its slow, its being co-opted by a bunch of lousy profiteers as well as facilitates the concentration of wealth more than any currency in history. The world as a whole needs to move toward many other alts and usher in the birth of a decentralized asset market that is completely disconnected from bitcoin. The sooner the better. The cypherfunks needs to help move us toward this future.

Dogeparty or clear wallet, but please dont go with counter party. I just think clearwallet and viacoin are on the right path for acceptance and fluid conversion. I do like dogeparty a lot too. im a bit torn really.

What is everyones opinion of viacoin and clearwallet.co. They just brought on Peter Todd and have some talent behind the project. I tried it out and like it a lot. its fast. Dogeparty is fast and i think merge mining will make it very secure. thought I see via doing well too. I personally am going to do a clear wallet token as an experiment.

I think its going to be better in the long run to eliminate any maintenance and focus on what matters in our lives. Use the tools the community has created and get creating for the community.

We really need a festival with open source atms, prypto scratch cards, event exclusive CDs with live recordings and the listener generated CDs exclusive to the show, and crypto food vendors at a festival would be an interesting way to introduce people to the technology. I have been to large events like the Telluride Blues and Blues Festival and I feel like these types of things would go over HUGE with a crowd like that. The town may even really support something like that, not to mention I know a lot of people up there who would love to help organize that. We really need to pull in younger crowds, they have a telluride Rock and Roll Academy and I think it would be a huge success if the kids saw the music they made with a decentralized band blow up. We could even work with scholarship programs with some of the music schools and use XFK to fund it.
We could even do Funk sticks (USB versions of the event exclusive music with wallets and coins loaded and ready to go)

Lets get this coin released with a multipool and bring some solid buy pressure to our coin. We need this for all the things I know are possible to happen.

Our plans should include the multipool, twitter tip bot for listener feedback reward system, the full stack music business, open source ATMs, Prypto scratch cards, Festivals, Production teams/studios, and anything else we can muster up as crypto development explodes.

Hey guys, still trying to get back in the groove, but I'm still around. I was curious if we could get a multipool online shortly after the POS implementation, preferably right as we go POS. This will put constant pressure on the coin. I also think we should try to play gigs as much as possible and have an agreement that we will put X amount of gig profits into the coin to add more buy pressure. This will add short term holding incentive long enough to implement some of the other ideas that have been discussed.

I was watching the Nautilus/Dirac buyback swap and I think we need to utilize this idea with some of the other coins. These swaps will create market velocity and liquidity, this is extremely important. The multipools also do this as well, Naut is already planning this as well for the same reasons. If the market velocity is really moving we can really get creative with the economic structures and create some great opportunities for traders, miners, holders, musicians and anyone in between. This also creates a solid disconnect from BTC pricing (huge reason I am watching these coins closely.

I think we need to get a twitter tip bot going soon, preferably like the reddcoin tipbot. An actual tip button is awesome.
This will be a great way to distribute coins, musicians will be holding a lot of coins after a while and instead of us sending them back and forth between each other we will be able to reward listeners for constructive feedback on twitter. So when we reach a point we want to distribute coins after accumulating we can have a great outlet that will shape the music based on direct listener feedback.

We also should encourage the standardization of using https://onename.io/ profiles (https://onename.io/brady)
We can easily place this link in the description of each song so the public can really get to know each artist who participated properly.

In all honesty the exchanges are a complete farce and only create a ridiculous market situation that falsely represents a coins value in an already manipulated market, which is why a direct swap with other coins off exchange with an agreement to do an open market buyback to stimulate the market is a necessary evil, this allowed Naut and XDQ to pull back to a proper market price.

The ideal situation would be if we had a legitimate exchange of our own. I think the best way to do this would be to turn our music into a decentralized fiat market using something like Brawker.com (but for XFK instead). We would only need a trusted way to sell our music with credit cards, any ideas on a way to do this in a way that everyone here can agree on? Heck it really could be anywhere, but I think we need to get creative with our music sales. one idea we should use is to take the listener feedback and produce an album based on that feedback but only release and sell it at live events. Buy a concert ticket, get the new album at event, preferably a festival. (cypherfunkapalooza Tongue)

The real value will come from actual coin utilization, it is a do or die situation, many colossal changes are about to flood the alt markets and anyone who doesnt build infrastructure and use cases will see their coin die quickly. My dad always said, "if your going to do something, you do it all, not just one part." We need a few dedicated individuals to use Cypherfunk to crowdfund an organization for Production, promotion, booking, event planning, artist equipment insurance, copyright services, education. In short "Full Stack" or GTFO! lol

I even have some other ideas for down the road, but these things could easily be done with just a few industry partnerships with people who understand the power we have at our finger tips. LETS DO THIS!! Im sick of seeing some of my favorite artists die broke and hungry because the industry is a giant leech here to suck artists dry and spit them out when they are out of juice. It happened to my family (mostly musicians) and I dont want it to happen to any other artists.

Lets not let V 2 die a brutal death, lets "Full Stack" this time. its the only way. Im sick of seeing some of the best talent in the world struggle. Musicians are some of the most creative and interesting people in the world (IMO) Lets show em what we can do!!

The Bitcoin blockchain is already too big to download. Electrum figured out how to use specialized servers that index the blockchain:

Instant on: Your client does not download the blockchain. It uses a network of specialized servers that index the blockchain.

http://electrum.qc.to/

It is open source..

Yeah Electrum is a thin client implementation. The issue with this is you need a strongly secured network BEFORE these get put in place. Without the pre-existing network security it hugely damages decentralisation, as these clients basically just steal the information they need to maintain balances, and give back nothing at all except extra network traffic. Even PoS staking secures the network, but without running a full node, I don't think this is possible.

We really should utilize a similar faucet system for distribution based on consuption of content and contribution, like LTBcoin is doing. Incentiveized consumption is going to be a big trend as we move forward with crypto and micro payments. May as well jump on it now instead of doing faucets and what not.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Cypherfunks[FUNK]: crowdfunding global band! v1.0.1 out! UPDATE on: June 30, 2014, 08:12:02 AM
Hey, sorry for being absent for a bit, had a lot of stuff on my plate. So Simon, I love where your going, I also think proof of transaction would be awesome. I think we should create a way for people to upvote versions of songs or song ideas using funk. We could even allow people to contribute album art that could be upvoted as well. Each upvote could cost some of the coin. One of many ideas, I am going to try to engage with you a bit more now that Im starting to get things somewhat in order.

Also, as a collaboration tool for sharing tracks that I think would work great is, bittorrent sync. I really like it, it may be a great way to share libraries or samples. I just started using it with a friend, its pretty convenient.

I suggest stating the openness of style or genera. Are we allowing hip hop, rap, is it only funk music, are we strictly playing with a funk style to match the currency? Are you thinking of re branding and just calling them "notes" by chance? lol

I felt like I had to keep the funk style and not branch out when I first came on. I know your not forcing people to play funk music, but it has a feeling of restriction, that was just a first impression I had.

Other than that, I love where your going with this.
Cant wait to get some time to chat about some of the ideas I spoke about..

I invested what I can afford to loose like I do all IPOs. I invest in people not coins. If they are buying a coin they created with all profits its a no brainer where the price of QTM is going. Unless the government shills troll so hard everyone dumps it, at that point a lot of people will buy until it pushes the price back to the IPO price. These guys actually want to work in the crypto Industry and are pioneers like everyone, no one really knows where things will develop So many things are possible its unbelievable and surreal. Starting a new crypto venture is like venturing into space, you don't know where your going, what you'll find, or if you'll die. but this is what were doing, so ignore the government shills and buy into every IPO in crypto if you believe in the philosophies. After all if you bought the BTC "IPO" (lol) with 5 bucks and held you would never work again.

I even invest in possible scams because I don't really care anymore, money means nothing any more and the sooner you realize that the sooner humanity can move forward (well it doesn't mean the same thing it use to, your assets are your money now real value is money, were just having to relearn what value actually is these days) enjoy the birth of the decentralized stock market, you get to invest in actual people instead of manipulated prices. I have made money from most of the scams in crypto due to getting out immediately after I realized any profit. Its all about not being greedier than the greedy scammers and understanding market psychology. Though these guys are actually trying something new.

If you dont like it, waste your time on facebook looking at cat videos, you would probably find more spiritual enlightenment than trolling. Also, if your a paid troll, go get a real job or start a business, your looking more and more like complete morons as time goes on and will realize your time would be better spent building your own business idea instead of scrutinizing other peoples plans. I will admit a QTM could have been approached differently and avoided a lot of FUD, but meh, who really cares. Were all just winging it in life. And if you deny that fact, your probably a complete air head. Mistakes are part of progress, failures are part of success and QTM is well... the first of many successes/failures we will see, so STFU and enjoy your life cause shits getting real.

That being said, These guys do have real reputation on the line and are genuine helpers and educators. If I were you I would be grateful that genuine people are finally stepping up to the plate even if things didn't go as planned. If you do lose money I would hope you didn't invest your rent money. Thats the only scenario I can see that you would be angry or scared.

If your emotional about trading your probably not doing it right.

Oh yea, QTM is a scam!!! Did the price dip? damn, oh well. I was hoping to get in cheap. Tongue jk

Are you on twitter?  Because I want to make sure I unfollow you.

I invite you to un flollow, just calling it like it is, markets are manipulated on even the best of projects. its just basic market psychology. If what I said offended you you really need to be aware of what your spending your time learning. The world is changing faster than anyone can imagine, being offended will only hold you back. The world of unregulated markets is no place for the easily offended or naieve to the fact that trading involves a small group profiting from a large group. survival of the fittest. If your not profiting from the scammers, your being milked.

In the case of QTM, it will probably be a success for one simple fact, the value of a "coin" is in the value of the individual integrity of the people involved in any given project. This may have been a conflict producing IPO. Though I will say that the people starting QTM have exemplified a significant amount of integrity. That my friends is a rare commodity and one of the founding characteristics of value creation.
The value of an asset such as "programmable currency" is directly connected with the integrity of an individual. This is something to be celebrated. We have finally merged value within individuals with the global economy. Great things are happening, pay attention your experiencing history in the making.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Cypherfunks[FUNK]: crowdfunding global band! v1.0.1 out! UPDATE on: May 08, 2014, 02:24:29 AM

So as far as the multipool payouts are concerned, it wouldnt be any different than the donation percentages most pools already offer, but instead of two payout (one to pool, one to miner) you would have a 25% payout to crowd fund/ mining pool, 50% listener/miner, and 25% to currently streamed artist. I'm not a developer so I'm not aware of how dificult this would be to do, but, imagine in all the musicians on the network had the asic, the listeners had the asic, and your phone tablet or computer was no different than a spotify style app, but tied to your hardware. Paying for the service would be simply buying the asic.

Someone please let me know where I'm off and try to explain to me the largest barriers to making this happen. I am aware this system would create a whole new job for a pool operator, but hey technology is killing jobs, lets create some new ones. lol

There are a few issues I have with the Funk ASIC.

1. China
Most likely the ASICs will be manufactured in China. I'm not really into creating more manufacturing jobs for China.

2. Costs to manufacture would be fairly high (at least from my point of view).

3. Why would the listener earn money by 'listening' to music, and why would they earn twice as much as the hardworking musician? These numbers seem arbitrary, and would necessarily have to be hard coded into a centralized manufactured product.

Again.. money to China?

Let's maybe take a step back and rethink this..

How can FUNK be used to benefit the musicians? That is the goal of the Cypherfunks. We can continuously help each other make music, only by making sure that FUNK can help put food on our table and so forth..

I can see myself buying food with FUNK, now wouldn't that be seriously great? In more practical terms, vendors could sell food at an outdoor festival to festival-goers. The vendors could of course use them to buy more FUNK related merchandise (which anyone can make and sell). Or they can convert their FUNK for BTC, and use the BTC for whatever they want..

All it takes is two or more parties that agree to use FUNK for their transactions.

If we can get the FUNK onto more of the exchanges, and get reasons going for people to buy FUNK with their BTC, the value of the FUNK will go up and we can start looking more towards merchant adoption.

Which reminds me, have you voted for the FUNK today at least once?

Please vote for the FUNK coin we need other exchanges (go vote!):

We maybe should have a place to donate BTC and FUNK on the Cypherfunks website to use to inject capital. Look at how CleanWaterCoin does it (click the Donate button to see how they have it setup):
http://www.cleanwatercoin.org/

Maybe people could donate things they have created, and have a store where people can redeem their FUNK. Like those arcades with the tickets you redeem for toys, only we would have something more valuable than toys. They could be music related (instruments, software, music packs, FUNK festival tickets, concert tickets (FUNK paper storage wallets) etc..)

That way music software companies can get in on this by donating their products to support the cause! This would in turn encourage people to make more music and buy more music related products with FUNK. That would make clear the real value of FUNK.

Honestly, ASIC production is about to get rolling in the US, and also to start, my idea would initially start as an open source development using old BFL ASICS, I just bought an eight GHs one for $50 this combined with NFC stickers, 3d printed case, and a Rasperry Pi would literally be all you need to get started with the platform, after it got rolling custom hardware would be a possibility. Not to mention, Blocktech is wanting to create ASIC miners and put them in anything from toasters to TVs. my idea may be a way out to be a reality, but it would benefit more people than just funk holders. musicians would have a steady stream of income with my idea, I would need to explain things in detail for you to understand, but you will see where my head is at soon enough.

I know a few developers that may interested in working with me, I am going to continue my brainstorming. I think you guys will see where my head is at soon. We are experiencing the death of money and the birth of value. It will be a glorious transformation from companies desperately trying to invest in things and short changing the company to a new system where the company invests in its self and the "coin" or company asset will go up in value relative to the effort of the organization.

We have reached a historical event horizon blinding our view of the future. Anything could happen in the next ten years. I'm interested to see what happens.

@mckmuze

Very, very fascinating ideas. One of the more difficult parts is to actually with cryptographic verifiability use the music to interact with the blockchain. It's no mean feat. But you give some interesting ideas.

If you could make for example, an independently verifiable queue of the Cypherfunks songs (randomised playing), you could then do things like matching block payouts to music. ie, each block, automatically pays out part of the mining reward to a song on the network. Something like that.

I like your ideas! Keep it coming! Keep it coming!

My thinking is this, average people dont care about Asic miners, crypto currency, blockchains, etc, etc. They just want something like spotify, that plays a radio selection of music. the asic box would just be a cool gizmo that streams music and also pays them small amounts to listen to music. The music doesn't really have to be verifiable with the blockchain in any way other than a means of sending payments out. The app/wallet would have a payment feature built into the "like" button. you click "like" to build your playlists and preferences and the like button sends a payment to the currently streamed artist. An artist would need a profile created on an identity based blockchain like namecoin's onename. This would ensure you have private keys to your artist profile and payments. The artist profile could also be used as a promotional tool for the individuals. as far as the streaming is concerned, a commercially available box would need to be developed with a balance of Funk provided at purchase. This would give the listener streaming credits and the upvotes/ "likes" could be pulled from a pooled account that generates as more consumers come online.

I feel like I'm off base here because I'm not a developer, but I know I'm on to something, its just a bit fuzzy at the moment. I have a feeling as the security issues and the decentralized app development environments get started my ideas will be a bit more feasible. If crypto really explodes in value I would personally fund this and wont stop til my vision is a reality. I see this as something I would use the crap out of and I'm sure a lot of others would as well even if they didnt care about decentralized currency.

I'm puting myself in the shoes of the average person, not the average crypto speculator or a person who understands crypto currency. The average person wont really care until they finally realize the intrinsic value behind Funk style currencies. The barrier of entry is really high for people trying to understand cryptocurrency, so mass produced streaming devices cleverly disguised as hardware based media boxes with speakers, IO ports, NFC/bluetooth docking option would allow users to use it without even thinking about new currency, though after using it for a while they will be introduced to the amazing world that is decentralized finance.

Someone please let me know where I'm off and try to explain to me the largest barriers to making this happen. I am aware this system would create a whole new job for a pool operator, but hey technology is killing jobs, lets create some new ones. lol
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Cypherfunks[FUNK]: crowdfunding global band! v1.0.1 out! UPDATE on: May 03, 2014, 05:26:48 PM
As far as the streaming/ASIC idea we could make a multipool for Funk. The multipool allows us to use old asics and it wont matter to an average music listener if its an outdated asic (they wont even really know what it is). This could also give a solid tangible item behind Funk. The guys at Blocktech would probably like to hear from us if we can get a proof of concept.

Multipools are about to dominate and really move the alt market. It also creates a consistent buy pressure on the currency allowing us to somewhat stabilize the price. Ideally staggering two different currencies multipool buys would give us a way to hedge our own position. This may be out of the question to do two, but it would create some price stability and fend off PnD'ers. Not to mention a hedge between the two would give us an interesting way to have internal price stability. This is all theory, but it might be interesting to see play out.

Now as far as a more practical project for The Cypherfunks, I was working on a way to use emunie to create a system that pays the listener and the currently streamed artist equally using the streaming hardware. Unfortunately Emunie is a network hog and you wouldn't be able to stream, not to mention new developments in traditional blockchain currencies are going to give emunie a run for its money. One of the significant developments is the multipool. This will ensure the asic device actually generates a decent return for the listener.

I have a mind map on mindomo if anyone is interested in looking it over, its a bit rough, but has many ideas we could possibly use.
The basic idea is to split the generated currency three ways, one third to a crowd sourcing pool, one third to the listener, and one third to the currently streamed song. The crowdsorcing pool could be used to pay a project after completion or possibly some other tiered upvote system. The audience could directly interact with the artists and really feel like they had a part in creating the song.

This would introduce anyone interested in music to cryptocurrency. I really feel this will be a major step forward for mass adoption and a great distribution method. We could do a Cypherfunk brand ASIC with streaming capability in a totally open source platform with 3d printable parts, NFC stickers, Raspberry Pi, and bluetooth. We could do it all from an app and slap an NFC sticker on a dock to automatically bring up the player. Even when your on the go the history could be synced when you have a connection and the multipool can send the payments out to the creators. This will also generate a transaction map of all the creators, so in the even a song is desired for a commercial, movie, game etc, the payments can be distributed to everyone involved. We could require a prospective licensee of the music to purchase using Funk through the multipool transaction map effectively giving everyone involved a cut with every consecutive payment.

The app could have the ability to stream music, buy concert tickets, shirts, hats, stickers, upvote music, advertising, and pretty much anything and everything that is involved in the music industry. The ASIC could have storage capability built in to allow a maidsafe or Bittorrent sync style storage environment for paying end users to store part of the music library as well. (this may a bit far fetched but possible)

This would greatly increase the network security, distribute the currency, create an economy, generate steady income for artists, store the music library in a decentralized fashion and possibly completely rewrite the rules of the music industry.

I have more ideas but I will spare you guys the novel, I'm a bit hard to catch at the moment but If I can get some free time I would love to really dedicate some time to brainstorming with you guys to see what is possible. We should start a weekly hangout on google and really hash out some ideas.

First of all, I just want to say, I love what I am seeing. This is right in line with my thinking. My name is Brady, I am a musician and crypto addict. lol I have been trying to find others interested in utilizing these technologies in a way that will rewrite the rules of music creation.
I am just now getting involved, I have some music I will submit. I also have some ideas we could all work with.

Have any of you used Kompoz? I think we could utilize it for collaboration and eventually build our own. We could create a pay per play system like nobs.is has on Cryptr, pay users Funk to listen and even develop a reddit style upvote system for songs or even snippets of audio. Allow people to use funk to vote for a riff, verse, etc. The more you listen the more you can actually shape the music as a listener by spending your generated funk.

Also if a multi pool was created for Funk we could do some REALLY interesting things. Like hardware based open source music streaming/ASIC boxes. I literally have thought about the possibilities for way too long. Someone please help me get a group hangout together to make things happen.  I am spewing with ideas. yes I said spewing... lol

I would love to get a Google hangout together and hash out some ideas. I have thought long and hard about crypto and the music industry. I would love to collaborate ideas. A few others are doing things with music and crypto, we need to round these people up and get everyone talking.
