1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How 37 banks became 4 in just 2 decades in One chart on: February 13, 2016, 12:22:09 AM

It's funny how different that looks compared to UK.
Many banks are now surviving well in the UK and are separating after joining a few decades ago (due to EU law, there is a certain number of branches that one company can have).
Be a good thing to watch/invest in (share wise) at this stage considering the number of banks hat are left.

hey do you still need it?

I am planning on trading with you....but are tardes periodic functions?

Possibly better for you to move on.
You should both know that no one on this forum wants a loan of that amount!
If they do, tey are paassibly a scammer.

If you want to, you can invest, but you probably won't get much back, though it is a small amount!
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: I want to make a bitcoin lottery website on: February 06, 2016, 04:38:54 PM
Alright guys, I've made a form here's the link:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1aJjefep3kA2aaYMNSkHdOr4c3F3E6CB0Mmki12bJuHo/viewform
How will it work(you may modify and make it better)
- You visit the address to make sure the balance is less than 3BTC(considering 3000 draws are to be made) so that you don't place any bets after that.
- You send the defined amount(0.001BTC) to the address, then you fill out the form.
- Any user exceeding the limit is refunded(3001st, 3002nd,... pay).
- Randomly select a number
- Send the prize to the winner
- Make the sheet public.

It would be much better if you put the number of tickets the user wants, the bitcoin address and a confirmation service to ensure it has sent, otherwise, people may get confused!

HASHNEST also don't have a licence for gambling (as they are a trade platform).
The number should be selected from blocks on blockchain, or last entrant, or even subtracting their time in seconds of the last block-the last bet (seconds) giving you a number that can be ued.

Hi,
You guys must be aware of the popular cloudmining website Hasnet.com
Yes you are, most of you, definitely! Here's the thing: they have lucky hash where you get to buy tickets(max 100 per round per user) priced at 0.001BTC each. At the end of the round a lucky draw is carried out and winner takes all i.e ~3BTC worth Antminer s7.
I'm interested in making a similar website where you get 2.9 BTC and we keep the 0.1BTC for running the website, etc.
How's the idea? i know it's stolen but will it work? Anyone thinks it's cool? If a site like that is up and running we could even use Blockchain based gaming interface or session based game integration like just-dice or satoshidice. What say folks?
P. S.- I'm not a programmer.

This could work!
Remove the maximum (that would just annoy).
Ask people to input, no need really to have a website, just do it manually on the forum in games and rounds section.
Pay 2.999 to each user (at the start).
Sell 3000 tickets and pay instantly (based on last block not next).

Probably better to start with 500 tickets and a prize of 0.495BTC to get te word of moth going and the game to be trustworthy.

If you do it through the forum, let me know and I can maybe help.  Even doing it through here, you should probably have at least a one page website where people can see things like the history.

You could easily use a spreadsheet from google docs with an archive  old results and one page of the newest result and the winer, along with te infomration used to calculate it!

If you want to do this on the forum, I could probably help you.
It would look better as no one would accuse me as a signature spammer or anything.
I have a few ideas to contribute to this as well for a 50% share of your profits.

6  Other / Archival / Re: How can i increase activity and rank of my account on: February 05, 2016, 06:13:01 PM
When you post, your activity increases.
Once your activity has increased to 14 for that 2 week period tureday-tuesday, you then get another 14 activity points that you can earn.
If you spend 2 weeks on this forum and post 14 times in the first week and 14 in the second, you will have 28 posts.
If you spend 2 weeks on this forum and post 10 times in the firt week and 4 in the second, you get 14 posts for the two weeks.
And so on...
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean on: January 21, 2016, 10:50:16 PM
Because most of cloud mining will scam in the end
Cloud mining is not profitable anymore because of the difficulty and electricity usage they use

I've registered on so many cloud mining that it makes me sick with all the scams that happened

The only legit cloud mining i know is hashnests made by bitmain who made many mining equipment
Good luck Smiley

Look at Hashnest, that is profitable.
Hashocean, simply state, that they take 10% of all revenue for themselves for maintenance costs.

To me, it makes more sense to keep your chips with them and not redeem them (you have to pay for electricity on your own if you redeem)!
8  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S5 board gone bad, options on: January 21, 2016, 06:30:28 PM
My S5 lost a board last night.  Chain 1 showed many "x"'s.  I changed supplies, no help, in fact chain 1 went completely dashes.  I swapped sides.  Chain 2 went all "x"'s.  I lowered the frequency to 200M.  Ten "0"'s and 20 "x"'s on the bad board!  I cleaned the board.  Now all "x"'s again.  Must admit the board had gotten dusty and the heatsink fins had accumulated dust at the intake.  My last try today was the newest firmware.  So, I believe the board has gone bad.  This is a Batch 1 S5 I bought in March, well beyond the 3 month warranty.  What kind of charges have others seen from Bitmain for this kind of board return and repair?  Thanks for insight.

I think that you can purchase hashing boards off sites like ebay.

This means that you can replace the board and get it funtioning quickly.

He is at least a spammer

Hahaha, you even put the trust part that you put in your persoanl message the wrong way round!
Do you really need to value 69cents of bitcoin as a Full Member? You should already have mroe than that amount, eith that, or you will receive it from an investment or, you hate bitcoin.
12  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.001611BTC loan. (69 cents) on: January 04, 2016, 07:58:01 PM
This is a joke right???  You do realize that people on here can track your activity to other sites and more, so why would you try to scam someone and then ask for a loan??   You really should close this thread.

It is a joke.
He has used the repetition of the number 69:
69 cents for 69 minutes, unusual repetition unless he is making it up!

I'd definitely want to check out the code if you plan on adding it to Github. Not thinking of any specific features at the moment, as I'm currently playing dice on another site.
But I'm thinking of adjusting the code to add support for multiple dice websites, I'm quite busy atm though so if it's just on Github, I can work on it whenever, or create a fork in due time Smiley

If you don't understand any of the code from the aactual github code released by primedice, just ask me!

I also have a gambling strategy that I have been using on primedice taht I could add to my code.
14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I sent bitcoins to my watch only electrum wallet. on: January 02, 2016, 12:15:36 AM
I'm new to buying bitcoins and transferring them. So basically i bought some bitcoins from LocalBitcoins then sent them to my watch only electrum wallet. My BTC balance on electrum says i've got nothing. Does this mean i have lost my BTC forever? Blockchain is showing that they was sent to 2 addresses. I'm sorry if i don't make much sense. I'm very new to this stuff.

A watch-only wallet means that you cannot control the Bitcoins.
This means, you technically no longer own the Bitcoins. If you can contact the owner of the wallet to try and get your Bitcoins then that may work.

If you have ownership of that wallet or the private keys, you are fine!
15  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice Python Bot on: January 02, 2016, 12:11:15 AM
Well this is not exactly Python, but maybe this code will help you a little, or you change your mind about programming this bot in Python.
Check out this thread about other PrimeDice bot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1018417.0

ewwww, Java lol. The python bot posted above works quite well in my experience. I don't gamble much but do like coding bots as well.

This bot (although written in javascript) is nice for folks that have little programming experience: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831117.0

Yeah I don't like Java either. Java seems to be the preferred language for everything but its very hard for amateurs to code in it. Python is very forgiving and the debugger is easy to find any issues.

Python is great, it is more like psuedocode.
JAVA is OK, but only if you are using an IDE like Android Studio that can point out mistakes as you go along.

Simple java is ok, but I don't really know about the JAR part on the file extension.

Hello,

I would like to use the Primedice API in order to get a python bot.

Does anyone have the code needed to produce the python gambling bot that they could place here in code tags?

Thank you in advance.

Coinhelper

Any reason why python? just wonderin... Anyway here is code from some using python to bot on pd.. https://github.com/nico202/primeDiceBot

NOTE: i have not tested and/or checked the codes for any backdoors or w.e.. i did not made this code nor i recommend it to be used out of the box.. and i take no responsibilty on whatever it may cause. Use it only as your basis..

I use Python because it is one of the few languages I very much enjoy coding.
I have two IDEs which work very well and offer suggestions and improvements as you type if you hit certain keys!
It is also a language that is supported by the most operating systems (and is preinstalled on linux!)

Thanks for the link! That bot on its own works quite well, and I will modfy it to ensure it has only the code I want!
Are you planning on releasing your own modifications? I'd be interested in using a bot like that, plus I'm quite interested in Python myself.

The modifications would probably be useless to you as I am just removing code that I don't necessarily need.

Also, I think I may have breached the time request. Accidently set it to 0.001 seconds... oops!

Do you know any way of rectifying this situation.

Also: If you want a specific change done to the program I can easily do that for you. As it is under the GNU license I can modify all of the code to your personal preference if you would like?

EDIT: I thought that I would add, if you wanted, I can comment on all the code or show you each of the lines individually with an explanation of what it does and how it works, if you would like me to? I can also post anything I create for you on Github and others can learn from it.

18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: to Europeans: can you please try explain to me why your countries accept Muslims on: January 01, 2016, 07:29:15 PM
I don't understand how Europeans decided it was a good idea to accept muslim immigrants and asylum seekers, refugees etc etc

can someone explain to me the thought process of how local Europeans and their governments decided being over run by muslims was a good strategy for the future of Europe?

I truly believe Islam is not compatible with democracy and the western world, but that is another debate.

The UN technically forced us too, along with the EU. It is not the religion that is corrupt, it is a small minority of extremist "Muslims". There is extremist groups of all faiths Islamism, Hindu, Catholocism/Christianity... ETC...

Buying U.S Credit cards or debit cards doesn't matter if it's is 0$ balance or blocked already or used or expired.
I can pay with Bitcoins
Credit cards banks i'm need :
Wellsfargo
Bank of america
US bank
Suntrust
Capital one

We can use escrow and if you offer shipping worldwide contact me.

Erm... Why would you want these?
To use others' identity? or to make debt in their name?

Read the thread fucker.

OP is useless.
Even with a blocked card, you can still plunge a person into debt or use their identity.

I am not now going to tell you how though!
20  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My theory about the Antminer S5+ being more efficient than the Antminer S5 on: January 01, 2016, 07:24:39 PM

Its the same reason why the latest batches of S7 have less chips, higher freq and 4.7TH/s. It is because they come overvolted and overclocked. Which means the latest batches are less efficients.

The fundamental reason why the latest S7 are less efficient is because of the added inefficiency of the Buck Converter, they are not actually overclocked relative to the applied voltage.

Rich

So you're saying B2/B6 and B8 has the same core voltage, but a 100-125Mhz difference clock? Because people were able to overclock the prior to much higher hashrate while raising the volt, but not as much on the latest batch, suggesting that they were already higher clocked.

The buck converter can cause a 17% loss in efficiency?

He means exactly that! Bitmaintech have listed the highest possible hashrate/GHS in order to get their miners to sell better and quicker. If you wanted to not overclock, it could knock off over 400GHs of mining speed (in some cases)
