I seem to be having the same issue as the previous poster but with only one card. When I go to sleep and wake up the next morning, AM has stopped. After two days of this I realized I could check the log file.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: January 09, 2018, 03:38:42 AM
I seem to be having trouble with autoexchange and payout.   Items on exchange do not complete, items in autoexchange wallet do not proceed to exchange, and have not received any payouts for several days.   Decided to stop mining until I can figure this out.   Any ideas?

I just started mining with Mining Pool Hub and there's no FAQ about the autoexchange. It's confusing. I just switched my autoexchange coin to Litecoin but as it is not one of the coins I am mining it does not show up on my balances. When will it?  They need to get this sorted out, improve the website, have a FAQ, or something. As it is, it's not very clear.

Hi guys,

I'm using the XMR Aeon Stak with my old 7800 AMD card. Getting some ETH coins, but I like to watch movies while mining. Can't do that! I either mine, or watch movies using this miner. It apparently is using up too much of the video card, the movie freezes and won't play.  Angry

Using the Nicehash miner (RIP Nicehash, that's why I'm here now) I could watch movies and mine too. I'm wondering if there's a way to tone down the miner a bit so that I can watch a movie. Otherwise I will just be able to mine when I am sleeping!  Kiss

I remember when Bitcoin at $50 was a big deal! Thanks to everyone here who helped me figure out how to mine it way back when.  Grin

Now if most of my BTC hadn't been stolen by Mt. Gox, I'd be much richer.  Roll Eyes

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash/BTG GPU Miner v12.6 (Windows/Linux) on: November 30, 2017, 07:00:01 PM
I've been using this miner, mining with Nicehash. I've been taking a look at it. I notice that the miner is mining on the equihash pool. The config file say it's flypool. How does the miner bypass the config file and mine on equihash even though it says flypool? In the epools.txt file they are all # out. I am sure some people know what's going on here!

Does it make sense for me to try and figure out how to mine ZCash directly to a pool myself rather than go thru Nicehash? If so, how do I do that? I tried just substituting my own ZCash address in the config file. But I could get no accepted shares, and really wasn't even sure what pool I was mining on. Again, I thought it was flypool because that's what the config file says but now I see it's using the equihash pool.

It seems to me that if I go directly to a pool I can avoid the Nicehash fees. I must be getting fee'd by pools twice, once from the actual pool and then again from Nicehash.

Claymore's miners ingore anything in the config file if there are two, or more options, in the .bat file (I don't know if the .exe is considered an "option"). See OP for more on this.
You may be getting burned not two times but three times; a fee from Nicehash a fee from the pool AND a fee from Claymore's miner.

Yeah I thought of that. There's nothing in the .bat file other than a command to start the miner. I'll just have to read up more on the miner and see if I can get it to work without the Nicehash front end. The thing is, Nicehash provides a windows-friendly front end to the miner. That makes a big difference to people like me.

Connected my Facebook and Twitter account.

Hopefully this will turn out better than Authorship.

The thing is if people even remotely expect to get free tokens or coins and don't, it is very bad mojo.

On the other hand if people really do get free tokens or coins, people would think highly of them.

This is funny. Sad funny, but funny. I didn't bother to check this out before, but I should have.

Both P. Corman and N. Warfield, the co-founders of Authorship, list IREADBOOKS as a bookstore they co-own.

http://www.ireadbooks.org/

If you go to that site, they list three things for sale.

Pencils (10 for $10)

Memo pad 32 pages, lined (3 for $10)

Vinyl sticker ($5 each)

That is the most hilarious excuse for a bookstore I have ever seen!

I see where that address is on the bottom of the email. I don't think this is the same address that they had on their website. I remember Googling the address on the website and I would have noticed if it was a Precision Tune. I recall it being in an office park but I could be mistaken. I will drive by that Precision Tune and see what is there.

I don't see how they can recover from this debacle. Does anyone know how many people were promised tokens who didn't get them?

I would just like to add my voice to the chorus of people who were scammed. I signed up to get 75 tokens and didn't get them. What a total joke.

I use a VPN. Is this the reason I didn't get my tokens? I only signed up once.

I am here in Baltimore. These fellows have taken their office address off their website since yesterday.
I was going to show up in person, but now I am not sure where their office is.

The bottom of their e-mails say 11015 York Road, Cockeysville MD 21030 USA

However, google maps says that is a place called Precision Tune Auto Care....
https://www.google.com/maps/place/11015+York+Rd,+Cockeysville,+MD+21030/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x89c81279781138df:0x418d7f10fb767a74?sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwja8NDB56zWAhVM6YMKHUImCaIQ8gEIJTAA

This whole thing screams SCAM louder and louder the deeper you look into it.

12  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 23, 2013, 03:15:53 AM
I've been screwed by Mt Gox and am not happy about it. A couple of weeks ago I got verified and sold some bitcoins with the idea of getting some cash. I gave Gox my bank account number to send the dollars there. Days went by and nothing happened. Finally I contacted support. At this point I hadn't received the dollars at my bank and yet the money was no longer in my Gox account. Fortunately for me support got back to me quickly and said there was a delay. But I had asked them HOW LONG would it take for me to receive my dollars, and they didn't say. So I asked again more pointedly. They responded with THREE WEEKS! But they said that they could transfer the dollars back to my account if I wanted to, if that was too long. Yes, I told them, I want the dollars back to my account, that's too long. So now I can see the dollars I got for my bitcoin but I am no longer in the withdrawal queue. Meanwhile the value of a bitcoin has gone up up up. So the only way for me to get my funds out at this point would be to buy the bitcoins back at WAY MORE than I sold them for. I haven't done this and am hoping that at some point in the future I can transfer my dollars out in a reasonable amount of time, but I'm not holding my breath. I should have kept my bitcoin in my computer wallet and not messed with online wallets is what I think now.

Almost 10pm eastern standard time. Trying to connect with 50 Miner but am getting a popup message in Russian. I can't read Russian and can't even type it here because I don't have a Russian keyboard! But I will try- "Ownbka aBTOpn3aunn"   Wink

Never had a problem before and using the pool for six months.

OK just a few minutes later and I can connect and mine now. Not sure what happened. However it was disconcerting to get that message in Russian.

DOn't know if you've seen this page yet-

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison#Popular_Mining_Cards

I've got two 5830's running on two different rigs. They were both machines I already had so the setup costs weren't too high. I'm not getting the speeds shown on this page, maybe I'm not tweaking enough. But one does around 230 and the other does around 250. The 5830 cards aren't that expensive. There was a guy on Ebay selling around 20 of them at a low price, I only bought one that time but maybe should've bought more. I think running two cards on one rig might be a hassle, but not sure as I haven't tried it. I have lately been thinking about adding a third rig since the price of btc has gone through the roof.

Other than making sure that your rig has enough fans for cooling I don't think the computer itself, the motherboard and processor, need to be fast; it's all about the card. So I think as long as you have a PCI-e slot in the machine you're good. I might just get my next card first and then get the machine- before I already had the machines and got the card. I don't know why but the best cards for mining don't seem to be the newest ones, so you end up getting them on Ebay.

If this helps send some bitcoins!  Wink

15  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5830 has become unstable on: November 17, 2012, 07:07:30 AM
Can someone explain clock speed? Is this the same as "core"? The slider on 50miner makes this easy to control- not the case on any other guiminer like GUIminer, so I'm switching from GUIminer to 50miner. I mine on 50btc anyway.

There are four sliders on 50miner:

Core ( 80-875 MHz)
Memory (150-1200 MHz)
VDDC (.950-1.163 V)
and Fan Speed (1-100%)

The only one I really understand is fan speed. I now think it's possible that the card was overheating- because without any tweaking (auto), the card used to run automatically at 70% fan speed. With 50miner set on auto fan speed the fan speed was down to 40%. Why would this be? I used to mess around with all these settings using MSI Afterburner or the overclocking controls that come with the driver, but the card used to run fine without any tweaking. Now it seems to want to run at a lower fan speed. So I have bumped the card up to 70% fan speed and lowered the other controls. And yes, I did get this card used on Ebay. I've been getting around 250 mega hash with it for a little over a month.

If this one fries or is fried, I will try another one... but I wouldn't want to spend more than $200 on one.

Also 50miner displays the temperature. I don't think GUIminer does. How do I know what temperature should worry me? It's running at 60C/140F
16  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 5830 has become unstable on: November 16, 2012, 03:39:00 PM
I've been happily mining away on my 5830 for over a month and then a few days ago it became unstable. After a couple or three hours the computer crashes and reboots. I haven't been around the computer when this happens, but when I get back the computer is no longer mining and is asking for the password to get back into my desktop. At first I thought it had something to do with the latest round of MS updates (Win7) so I did a rollback of my system, but that didn't help. I upgraded poclbm to the latest version and that didn't help. I use GUIminer.

I got a program called BlueScreeView to determine what was causing the crashes and it says it's the "ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver"

I'm running out of things to try, suggestions appreciated.
17  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI miner unstable with latest Win7 updates on: November 15, 2012, 02:34:42 PM
Guiminer has become unstable on my system since the latest Win7 updates. I get the "blue screen" error after about a half hour of mining and my system reboots. I was using the packaged poclbm miner that comes with GUIminer. In the hopes of fixing this I updated to the latest poclbm but still had the same crash.

Here's the list of updates that I did on 11/13:

Update for Windows 7 (KB2763523)
Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2761226)
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 (KB2761451)
Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2727528)
Update for User-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 for Windows 7 (KB2685813)
Update for Kernel-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 for Windows 7 (KB2685811)
Update for Windows 7 (KB2750841)
Update for Windows 7 (KB2761217)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008 x86 (KB2729449)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008 x86 (KB2737019)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 SP1 x86 (KB2729452)

I left out some updates to MS Office.

I've been using GUIminer on a Core Duo with a 5830 and have had no problems until now. I've switched to 50Miner in the hopes that this problem will not happen using 50miner. I mine on 50BTC anyway. I tried 50miner before and it seemed to give me slightly lower speeds than GUIminer but now that GUIminer is unstable I have to try it again. Also it seems that it has some nice added features that GUIminer doesn't have.

update: well it's still crashing with 50miner, so it's not GUIminer that's causing the crashing. Who knows if it's even bitcoin mining that's causing the crashing? I don't.

Card of the Day:

Ten of Cups

This card means that you will have a happy life surrounded by affection.
Your family will be numerous and your friends many.
You may marry your first love.

Not all cards are this upbeat and positive! I was going to do a single card reading here on a regular basis but the second one I did (a week after the first one) turned up a negative scary card so I didn't post it. The Egyptian Deck is not as upbeat and positive as some other decks- it pulls no punches. But this is a nice upbeat happy card! Happy happy!  Grin

More information about the Ten of Cups may be found here:

http://www.learntarot.com/c10.htm

I don't bother with "reversed" cards when I do a reading, BTW. Tarot is complicated enough as it is...

A reading is half a bitcoin! Such a deal!

Is Tarot scientific? I'm as much into science and math as anyone. I've studied the history of science and graduate level physics. I'm not a "psychic" and anyone can learn Tarot. However, Tarot practitioners improve by doing it (just like as with a lot of things) and I've been doing it for a while. I'm as skeptical as anyone. I think there are scientific reasons and/or explanations as to why Tarot works. It's not superstition or magic. Theories aside though, I would've lost interest in Tarot a long time ago if I hadn't seen it work first-hand myself. All that said, it's just entertainment!  Wink

I have an old GeForce 8800 GTX card if anyone wants to give me any bitcoin for it. It's a monster, would cost a lot to ship. It's really heavy, like a large brick, with a large fan and heavy-duty cooling.

I've got an old computer that needs a new AGP card (the old one fried) so maybe I could do a straight trade.

I think this GeForce 8800 was barely used. I got it with another card, the guy just threw it in for nothing.
