I am not very well versed in cryptography, but if this fleshes out any I would definitely be extremely interested as I was planning on building a raid array anyway.

If you wanna buy/sell some bitcoins and you don't wanna deal with  an exchange there's a chance https://localbitcoins.com/ could help. It allows you to create escrow based craigslist like in person cash->bitcoin transaction. Really great system especially when used in combo with craigslist.
