141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins have been exiled to the garage in my house on: April 04, 2016, 11:00:04 AM
Have you tried the powerline network adapter? I am thinking of buying one for the rigs in my garage.
142  Other / Meta / Re: Mods remove all references to Core and Classic to altcoin section on: March 26, 2016, 07:40:10 PM
No. Discussions about Core do not get moved to the altcoin section as Core is the main implementation of Bitcoin today. Discussion of any controversial attempt at forking (XT, BU, Classic, etc.) will get moved to the altcoin section as that is where they belong. This is a "policy" set by theymos back when XT was "a thing".

When the Classic become the main bitcoin version after most miners adopt it, will you move it to the main section?
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool is now up to 25.5 MB with 22,200 transactions waiting. on: February 29, 2016, 03:31:36 PM
1mb can not last forever everyone know this, it is time to upgrade, and bring some room to the block limit, it will be done in june this year so no worry about it

i think poeple can wait 4 months, because they waited years for this fix so...

Do you mean the block increase with the SegWit? I think The 2MB increase will be around July 2017.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Got some servers, any good CPU coins? on: February 24, 2016, 10:01:09 AM
Got some servers, any good CPU coins to mine?

You need CPU which supports AES_NI to mine the good coins such as Monero or other related coins.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After getting your profits from ETH, what next? on: February 08, 2016, 10:53:31 AM
apparently getting profits is still not over  Grin

I think I will buy more Ethereum. The price is still rising. It is all time high now. The price could rise further.
146  Economy / Economics / Re: Why gold price going down? on: January 27, 2016, 08:48:36 AM
Jeff Gundlach, CEO of DoubleLine Capital, predicts a 30% rise in the price of gold this year. I think that's a conservative prediction given the market instability we've already seen just a couple of weeks into 2016.

When the QE is stopped, there will be less fiat money flying around, so the gold price will not rise.

Gold prices fall based on two things; economists learn both of these in Economics 101.

The first is that low demand puts downward pressure on prices. And secondly, oversupply in a market also forces prices down. That applies to gold, as it would in any other market or industry.

The gold price is manipuplated by certain big banks. They can make a lot of profit out of it.
148  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to beat Centralisation on: January 02, 2016, 08:39:50 PM
Back when I started mining (3-4 years ago) people were saying these same things. Home mining is dead don't even bother. I quit for a year just as the first ASICs were coming out because of all of this speculation. And of course home mining is still not dead. I hate centralization and wish we could go back to the days of CPU/GPU home miners, but even now there is still hope for home miners even if it for just fun and not profit.

Personally I'll mine my current hardware until it dies whether I make money or not. I have enough BTC now that as long as the value keeps growing I'll be happy.

Home mining is dead for the people in high electricity cost countries such as UK and Germany.
149  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-20] Bitcoin Price Tumbles 8% after Failing to Break Resistance on: December 21, 2015, 02:02:38 PM
A drop of price of 8% is worth reporting. But it is quite normal in the price action of bitcoin. Nothing unusual.
150  Economy / Lending / Re: Is it possible to get a 0.25 unsecure loan? on: December 10, 2015, 02:08:07 PM
You don't have any alt accounts to offer as a collateral, you can just ditch the loan and hop on in your other alt-accounts. Besides the btc price is very unstable right now. What happens if the price jumped to $500.. As i can see the reward isn't that good for this loan..

When the price rises, it is difficult to pay back the 0.25 loan. You can wait a few months and when you become a senior member, and people might lend you unsecured loans.

Gold is an investment that you only invest in if you have nothing else to invest in. The global market is doing decently, therefore there is really no need for gold.

Gold has no actual industrial use, unlike copper and iron.

Gold is widely used in electronic goods. You can extract lots of gold from the print circuit boards if you have the right tools. It is a big business.
