241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deadline given to Beijing-based Bitcoin exchanges on: September 17, 2017, 11:48:24 AM
People taking out their funds from those exchanges will probably want to do so, often, by cashing out, so as long as these exchanges operate, they will force some downward pressure on the price (though the initial panic selling wave seems to have past a couple of days ago). Once the exchanges close, the downward pressure will disappear, as other entities continue to operate normally and absorb the temporary surplus of supply.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have some BTCs, why not have some Gold too? on: September 17, 2017, 11:01:43 AM

Gold is a decent store of value but more and more gets mined each year and it can be changed via melting it, and has happened before thus inflating the price. BTC has 21 million coins and has a deflationary supply model.

Sure, that's why next to my coins, there sits a TREZOR with a 21BTC that are completely frozen, i.e. not to be used for trading or cashing.
However good or promising an asset is, it's never a good idea to keep all your reserves in just one type of investment.

Gold gets mined constantly, but that's hardly a problem. Gold is the kind of thing you take out of the safe when shit hits the fan so hard you need something that is immediately liquid, it does a decent job there, even if it costs you a % of what you spent.

damn you must live in a horrible place O_o and not have a great family either.

Bitcoin is a great toy, but we all need some real value stores. Personally, I make a point of extracting a portion of my trading profits every once in a while, putting it into gold/silver bullion, magic sealed, and some other stuff. no point in keeping all eggs in one basket.

There again I'm not a big trader, so we're talking about a couple of grand a year in bullion. nothing amazing.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many exchanges will fail before this end of year on: September 17, 2017, 01:29:16 AM
no biggie. balance kept on any exchange should be nothing more than what you can completely lose overnight. As long as money is on an exchange, you should count it as 0.

exchanges come and go. smart people stay.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't see how people profit largely on: September 17, 2017, 12:02:19 AM
Buy 1000MCO at ICO around 3$, then buy another 1000 when it drops to a dollar.
Sell when they reach 15, laugh at yourself when you see them reach 22

enjoy profits beyond fees.

And even discounting rare "miracles" like that, it's just maths. If you use bitcoin for your day-to-day neccesity money, you're in the wrong game. If you can afford to let the money be, you can make very nice profits trading and taking out small-ish ammounts every once in a while to diversift (eg. gold/silver, art, magic cards, etc)

cashing out, if you don't need to feed your family, isn't exactly a smart play.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins do you have? on: September 15, 2017, 08:04:47 PM
how do you justify not edging your bet with a partial BTC holding?
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Rise, discussion on: September 15, 2017, 04:47:04 PM
That you're not a very good shill?
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Adoption? Pyramid Scheme? Fiat vs. New Fiat? on: September 15, 2017, 04:46:19 PM
When did you ever need money to be transferred from Shanghai to London in less that a few weeks? I don't need that functionality, few people in the world do.

It's incredible how centuries go by and society never changes, its needs never evolve.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much Drops can be? on: September 15, 2017, 03:13:34 PM
let me check my crystal balls...

You are asking exactly the kind of question that tells me you shouldn't be anywhere near bitcoin.
250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's wild volatility continues with $400 swing in an hour on: September 15, 2017, 02:27:01 PM
despite part of the community running around on fire, bitcoin is ove $2000 above where it started the year.

will people ever stop looking at graphs set to "5 minute intervals"?
251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin starts to rise on: September 15, 2017, 02:23:53 PM
that you are looking at graphs which are far too detailed to be interesting
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Adoption? Pyramid Scheme? Fiat vs. New Fiat? on: September 15, 2017, 02:23:09 PM
Aside from ideological discussions, all these words being said are fairly meaningless.
What matters in any investment space is what you take out of it. It's irrelevant if it one day disappears, as long as you've been able to surf the waves to take home profits.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again,BTC is back on: September 15, 2017, 02:06:30 PM
There is plenty of money to be made on the short and very short term, but it takes the right stomach.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Join the HODL TRAIN! Who kept cool? on: September 15, 2017, 02:04:50 PM
Well, I'm more like a panic person, but I'll try to hodl it as long as I can.
I really hope the price will recover soon.
It's all because if I sell now, I don't even dare to know how much losses from this price later on.

OK, hold on, you're setting yourself up for disaster. You're--don't take it badly--way out of your league here.

"It's all because if I sell now, I don't even dare to know how much losses from this price later on" is the kind of reasoning that ends up getting people to jump from skyscrapers. Do not make decisions like this.

You should be asking yourself only one question: How much money that is currently tied in crypto do I need in order to survive. The right answer, if you want to play with crypto, is 0. And this should let you live without panic.

If you live on the fear of potentially lost future profits, you'll act poorly. Make decisions based on strong reasoning, and a plan.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again,BTC is back on: September 15, 2017, 02:00:01 PM
But in the other hand crashing of bitcoin have a bad effect on the people that are still new with bitcoin because they will have mind set that bitcoin is not stable and risky to invest with. But with us that have a long term experience we know that this is normal and soon it will pump more and reach a new ATH.

That's a very good lesson we all need to learn sooner or later. Sooner saves lives.
Bitcoin IS unstable and incredibly risky.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Join the HODL TRAIN! Who kept cool? on: September 15, 2017, 01:57:42 PM
pretty much, yeah. I've Always followed the concept of keeping the crypto part of my Investments completely outside of my fiscal planing. In any calculation I make, they are Worth 0.

Leads to making far better decisions, and is a lot more fun.

I've managed to grab a bit back. Just the other day I ordered roughly 2200$ of gold and silver coins for about 0.55 BTC
257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again,BTC is back on: September 15, 2017, 01:47:29 PM
Seriously, how emotional can a bunch of "investors" be?

A crisis isn't born froma three day drop, nor is a recovery shown by a few % bounce. unless you're all day traders making a Killing, these shifts shouldnt even register on your radar.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Join the HODL TRAIN! Who kept cool? on: September 15, 2017, 01:44:47 PM
I paid back my 4 grand investment back in 2012. Sure, today that means I am a lot less well-off than I could have been, but it also means my "investment" in bitcoin is essentially free. In fact, I've since taken out a few more thousand dollars here and there.

I'm not a huge holder (as I did sell most of mine in 2012-13 rally), but I'm not moving my 1 in a million position. If it goes to zero, then so be it. it's "toy money".
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What price did you buy your Bitcoin investment ? on: September 14, 2017, 11:43:28 PM
I'm not a massive holder, but I've bought in stages, between about $0.30 and about $450.

In general, most good players should have been able to at the very least repay their initial investment and grow their stash trading waves, so yes plenty of people ought to be sitting on good profits.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is just the beginning - US will follow China eventually on: September 14, 2017, 11:40:29 PM
because criminal use of the dollar has destroyed the american currency, after all... ^^

The US for all intents and purposes already has a ban on ICOs, and already regulates to an extent its exchanges. Sure, there may be more regulations coming at some point... but this hardly means destruction. Regulation was a known thing from day 0, its not a great danger.
