1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] www.bitpanda.com Buy/Sell ETH/BTC with Visa Mastercard Neteller Skrill on: June 08, 2020, 08:03:02 AM
I totally understand that, but how come it could be related to money laundering if you are the ones that are paying me? It's getting paid for my work.

As an unrelated bystander, I think you missed a small detail:   Bitpanda has to generally obey certain laws that are subsumed by topic "anti money laundering".  These laws dictate bitpanda to *know* their customers.  Even if you don't use bitpanda's trading services, you are still their "customer", so Bitpanda must obey the law also about you - they need to "know" you in the way the law demands.

I don't want to deposit any money, I just want to withdraw what I've earned for promoting your services. You can block every other function in my account. You can block the option to deposit FIAT / crypto, it's fine by me. I've really put in the effort to refer those 250+ users!

As an unrelated bystander, it strikes me as odd, that with 250+ referred users, your gain would not be enough to afford a passport.
What's the price for a passport in your country?  (I can understand, if you don't want to name your country in a public forum.)

Not to mention that the Affiliate Manager for Bitpanda asked me PERSONALLY by email to keep advertising it a few months ago, so I've worked hard to advertise it.

"a few months ago" might have predated these laws, or maybe he just didn't know about your difficulties with verification.

Maybe, they find a solution to treat you as an affiliate rather than customer, but I wouldn't set too much hope on that.  They'd likely need to "know" you as an affilitate, as well.

... something like Indacoin, they have application on mobile  ...

bitpanda do have an app (for mobiles), too.

Best one is Bitstamp, or go to Binance for more alt coins, but stay away from these fishy websites.

A "few" years ago, mtGox likely would have been on that list as well...

Yes, you can deposit ETH, sell them and cash out in Form of an amazon voucher from your EUR wallet then.

In the past, when I sold a cryptocurrency to Amazon voucher, I got a slightly better conversion rate than when I sold it to my wallet.  I never understood it, as you always had a statement that Amazon didn't actively sponsor it.

Now that there is no longer selling to vouchers in a single step, I'd assume that this "better price" has gone as well...

(In the past, when I intended to sell some of my cryptos, I sometimes collected amazon order-intentions from friends and sold to a voucher to pay the order with. I guess that'll no longer be worth it now.)

@AvL42 Do you speak about using the same devices in turns or using a completely new one each time?
We had to tighten our security to better protection against phishing.

I do understand the reasons behind it, and agree to them in principle.

In my case it's that I have a couple of "static" machines (work and home plus some laptops) and occasionally
boot live systems from USB-stick on other machines, and then there's also the occasional "cookie-amnesia"
even on my static machines.

Getting that email isn't the big problem after all, but having to get the link from phone to the target machine
is awkward.

Maybe, there could be a second link in the Mail labeled "Allow other machine access" and I'd click
that link whenever it's not the same as the one I'm reading mails on. After that, I'd click some link
on the target machine's "Wait for confirmation"-postlogin-page and then be really logged in.
I think it would still be safe, as only the machine that "just tried"(and thereby triggered the mail)
would be granted access.

About the new webpage...

Just wondering, if BitPanda will from now on always throw a tantrum (confirmation email, then require relogin) whenever I switch between my work and home PCs, or maybe use a laptop every once in a while...

Edit:
I didn't intend to get across as all-negative... The new design is fine, it's just that I routinely use a number of different machines and haven't yet found a way to turn off the machine-"lockdown", so will probably have to repeat the procedure for every machine sooner or later (and can't even confirm the logins for the laptops from my phone's mail client).

Also, I slightly miss the old history-tables of my past trades.  I could copy the new lines to a local csv file (after each trade) - that does not seem to be as easy with the new design.

thanks, i opened a ticket; now, after entering password you enter the solve equation from captcha, right?

Right.  My password manager enters email and password for me and I enter the captcha result. Then either pressing return key or clicking on "Log into Account" logs me in.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] www.bitpanda.com Buy/Sell ETH/BTC with Visa Mastercard Neteller Skrill on: February 26, 2018, 12:25:18 PM
every time i log in, bitpanda resets my password, so then i have to request a reset of password,
and bitpanda then claims they have to freeze withdrawal for 48 hours; rinse, repeat!
is this new kind of scam?

Just a quick note, that I don't see this problem.  I can log in just fine.

My guess would be, you're clicking the wrong thing after entering your password...

The bitpanda guys may be able to help better, and if you open a ticket now, you might save some time versus waiting for the bitpanda guys to reply here asking you to open a ticket.

As it was not posted here by "bitcoincandy" account, it might just be one of those trojans/scams that we were all warned about.
Not sure, if by now I'd even trust a software by the real candyists, though.

on this site posted   www.bitcoincandy.one
and he in turn is listed on the viabtс Huh

You're right... I stand corrected - the github-links indeed seem to be official.

I don't quite understand the "viabtc" reference, though...

Guys I have more than 30k token candy in my ether wallet. I don't know where it comes from.
Here the contract: 0xf2EAb3A2034D3f6B63734D2E08262040E3fF7B48
Any similar situation?

About a page back on this thread, someone reported a similar thing.

Seems like someone created a bunch of "CANDY" tokens on ETH, and sent them to maybe random addresses.

As of now, it seems that BCD is abandoned, so guess yourself what the value of these tokens will be...
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Candy - Fork 1:1000 of Bitcoin Cash on: February 07, 2018, 02:15:50 PM
when they will release mainnet wallet?

Now that "end of january" passed without a mainnet client, I'm pretty sure that it won't happen at all.  Most likely, the "inventors" sold their premined coins already at coinex and dropped the mic.

I bought bch on some exchange before 512666 and transferred to my own wallet, then afterwards transferred back to exchange and sold with a small win.  I guess that win is already all I can ever expect to gain from that fork... :-)
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] www.bitpanda.com Buy/Sell ETH/BTC with Visa Mastercard Neteller Skrill on: February 02, 2018, 02:17:27 PM
That is not a phishing mail but our newsletter sent through mailchimp!

That's even sadder than what I thought...

A pretty safe criterion for phishing versus legit is that the links actually point to the sender's website.

By dropping that standard, what else are people supposed to decide on? keep relying on language?

What's the difference between   bitpanda.foo.bar.snafu.com  and bitpanda.fake.phish.com ?

I really urge you to dump that mailing-list provider if *they* insist on replacing the links.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / For information: Phishing! on: February 01, 2018, 10:57:06 PM
Just want to report that I received a fake mail apparently coming from "Team Bitpanda" <newsletter@bitpanda.com> written in German language, claiming a big raise of daily limits, and finally giving a few links to "https://b i t p a n d a . u s 9 . l i s t - m a n a g e . c o m/track/click?u=..."  (blanks inserted to prevent accidental clicks).

Most phishing spams so far already have a fake "From:" and very broken language - not this one!   You obviously can no longer rely on that spams have lots of grammatical mistakes in them...

PS: yes, I know, *you* wouldn't have fallen for it, anyway, but someone else might ;-)
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Candy - Fork 1:1000 of Bitcoin Cash on: January 28, 2018, 11:07:05 PM
I'm not holding any bch and some how received candy coins to myetherwallet. Thanks!
How is this possible?  Anyone else receive free candy coins to their myetherwallet?
Maybe that was a scam-message, trying to make you give your credentials to a phishing site?
Thanks for the reply. It's not a message. The coins were sent directly to myetherwallet.
I do hold btc but not bch. And why would it be sent to myetherwallet?  Mistake?  Lucky me if so. lol

I don't really understand the ether*-world. Apparently you got some "smart contract" about CANDY.
I've got no idea, how you would turn that contract into actual CANDY - maybe it's still a scam and
by trying to do something with it you'd reveal some secrets to the attackers... really I don't know
much about contracts in ether world.

I recently googled for bitcoin candy, and the newest hits were still from Jan 13th... maybe they already
sold their 1% pre-mine and dropped the mic...

I'll keep watching this thread for a while ;-)

I would like to know if this bitcoin fork is official ...

What in all the crypto-currency world is "official" supposed to mean?

To get free CDY, you need to hold Bitcoin Cash before height 512666 (about January 13).
What happens if my transfer was confirmed in block 512666? I transferred from my cryptopia wallet to a private wallet and the transaction was confirmed in block 512666

Sorry to break it to you, but you were 1 block late. Your candies are still in cryptopia ...

On some browsers/machines, the bitpanda site appears to never complete loading. Firefox keeps showing the bouncing dot as icon for that tab. Is that a known issue? (Edit: it also happens with disabled ABP.)

Does it happen with your Firefox only? So did you try it with another computer?

On closer inspection it seems to get stuck trying to load something from zopim.com - ad or tracker?
