2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bonus Discount Day for merchants on: April 29, 2017, 09:33:08 PM
Some Bitcoin holders don't like to spend their Bitcoins because it's an investment with fine return. But there're times when Bitcoin's advantages comes useful. It's when you're ordering from distant country, want to stay anonymous, need your fiat to pay taxes.. and so on. If anything, a mixed payment politics and a long-term plan to support Bitcoin users could help.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: April 29, 2017, 09:24:09 PM
It could attract some casual users. Many people know Bitcoin a bit, but never learned enough to use it. A Bitcoin shop with kind Staff could help.

But will it attract enough people who are willing to use the Bitcoin shop too? Won't using an online shop be the more comfortable solution?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: April 29, 2017, 09:14:50 PM
It represents the value of products. You can do anything with it what you can do with your national currency. Some companies even have this option to take your salary in BTC. If you work for money, BTC is money too.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: April 29, 2017, 09:10:42 PM
Many of us guess it'll hit $2000. The dumps should be less frequent and smaller, too. TXs will grow (or network will be slower, whichever approach you like) and I hope to see the end of the scaling war.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin implants? on: April 29, 2017, 09:03:40 PM
This isn't a new thread. For now, I hope you know this technology's operating in practice, in a few countries.

What would happen if someone hacked your implant? Or would get to know your private keys somehow?

Sounds pain to me... ))
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: April 29, 2017, 09:00:24 PM
It's just time for other powers to get heavier involvement. I doubt major powers such as Russia or the USA would simply let China centralize BTC. It has deeper roots in our companies than that. Maybe, they're just waiting when to send some packages to Chineese miners  Lips sealed
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make governments accept bitcoin? on: April 29, 2017, 08:45:31 PM
You won't ever make the government accept BTC. If they do, that will be according to their own plans.

We can read, some governments have heavy investments in crypto. But that's to invest their funds and research the technology.

Accepting BTC from citizens is another question. It would be a bit too difficult to control and too valuable.
In practice, governments prefer to print their own currencies with lower value and full control over it.

Exceptions? Some of the more liberal countries such as Netherlands or the tech-experimental countries such as Japan, maybe...
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was the value of 1 Bitcoin when you first mined/purchased? on: April 29, 2017, 08:31:46 PM
It was around $300. No, wait, my first was around $90-$120. Actually, I have entered and left the scene a few times. I decided to be more loyal to BTC in the future. But we have these shiny altcoins... if I took out my BTC investments once more, it would be for an other crypto project. Overall, I have built much trust in crypto.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: April 29, 2017, 08:15:31 PM
No, because what I had in BTC, I put into altcoins. If you understand the potential of BTC, you must understand the potential of certain altcoins too. Then why do you keep your money in BTC and why not to change it to altcoin right now?
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Android] SharedPreferences not to store prefs on: April 29, 2017, 08:07:08 PM
If you are not storing any sensitive data then you can use shared preference
besides shared preference will only be accessible via the application, other application can not use those store data
to use this data you might want to implement some api integration or services

Thanks for help! At the moment, it is just one application and not very sensitive data. However, some authors explain how to share preferences between applications using SharedPreferences. Anyway, since that we had a code review and the idea passed.
12  Bitcoin / Project Development / [Android] SharedPreferences not to store prefs on: April 17, 2017, 03:46:51 PM
Background:

My object-class has properties: String, (Joda) DateTime and a simple custom type.

Other applications must be able to access the stored data easily.

What method do you advise to store them?

I decided to use SharedPreferences. I converted my data into String and stored them in SharedPreferences. When reading, I cast from String.

But I know, it's usually used to store preferences.

Is it an acceptable practice to store other simple data too?

It's working at this size of the project... This is a small project and will remain that.
13  Bitcoin / Project Development / [Android] Suggested element to CHOOSE on: April 14, 2017, 07:43:10 PM
I defined a class to represent different crypto-currencies. One of their properties is their Name.

There must be a visual element to show their names. User must be able to select one from them.

How to do this in the easiest way (from dev view) yet providing good speed?

But I don't want to change my sexy avatar. Since wearing your avatar became a mandatory requirement, I'm leaving the campaign. I wish I knew this change in requirements beforehand. I wouldn't rush into the service so easily. How could I know it, though? I'm sorry. Good luck with your campaign!

I can contribute to the Internet of Coins signature campaign. I am wearing the signture already. Also, sent you the same in PM.

Here is my data:

4. BTC address/HYBRID: I want HYBRID payment

So, now what should I do (besides posting ofc Tongue)?

How will I receive HYBRID payment?

When will I receive my first payment?

I've written the quoted application a while ago. Still no notification. Not even in spreadsheet. If someone, I can understand you're occupied.  It's not a blame. But I don't want to be missed out, that's why I'm putting this application in sight again.
17  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking To Start A Small Business With Bitcoin on: March 12, 2017, 08:13:39 PM
You could start by learning about the law in your country. We have quite a few Bitcoin businesses where I live. At a conference I partially attended, they said they needed to fill alot of papers with strict deadlines. It was necessary in order to run their business with Bitcoin. Therefore, I think, it is a good idea to start by getting straight knowledge with the law before actually starting up the business.

If you want to run legitimate business first you have to know what is the regulation about it in your country and how is with paying taxes otherwise you might have some troubles. You also have to be well provided with goods you would like to sell and what would be the most convenient payment system. Daily payments are tricky and maybe not the best choice.

Just what I was thinking and @OP should make sure to do the documentation too. Learning about the regulations is not enough, you have to provide proof/do the documentation process too.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: March 02, 2017, 07:55:30 PM
They'll face it easier than you think. It'll become very easy for them to own a wallet, do their first transactions...etc. The issue is, basic security knowledge doesn't expand as easily as the news about BTC among teenegers. It could result in a hacking paradise.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Learn from others mistakes. Hodl on: March 02, 2017, 07:52:02 PM
Guys, it's not only about luck. Best investments are smart investments. People who make a living from investment learned to do it in the intelligent way. You can turn it into a science and maximize your profit or let it stay at gambling level. It's your choice. Ask the question yourself: Do you see a future with BTC? Why? These answers should decide your investment.
