1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S7 won't start after being unused for a while on: August 06, 2018, 05:39:46 PM
Looks like the I/O Board has started showing some misbehaviors. The back Fan is not working(which was working fine).Sometimes One Has Board's LED turns ON and stays ON which is wrong normally when even the antminer han't booted up yet and sometimes it doesn't happen.

Do u think i need to buy a new I/O ?

Hello,

Today I recived my first miner the Antminer S7 upon reciving it I plugged it in and the green light on the PSU lit up and the machine turned on after about 10-20 seconds it shut off and wont turn on PSU light no longer green

Upon opon opening the PSU (Yes ik this is dangerous I was properly grounded) it appears nothing was blown
This is a mining 1600w psu with no 20+4 pin connector so im not sure how to jump it to see if i need a new PSU
Any help on how to jump or other suggestions would be appreciated Smiley

I had the same problem at the beginning times and it was my Power Cord. I didn't notice that I'm using an AWG 24 (3*0.5mm) Cable of an old 350W PSU. Changed the Power Cord and used an AWG 14(3*1.5mm) Cable and everything was fine.

I think the Ethernet socket is bad so try to clean it first and then check your ethernet cable to PC if it is not working, then if it didn't work change your ethernet cable with working one.

If still persist the only way that I know could solve the issue is to flash it with SD card. I never tested yet, but you can follow the guide from here Possible problems for Antminer-Troubleshooting for S7&S9&L3+

Please check the #11 issue.

Tried Cleaning socket with electronic board cleansing spray and below some air with air compressor into it. Also changed the cables and switch ports but didn't work.

Sometimes these miners have issues starting up “cold” as opposed to if they’ve been actively running. I have one that I have to physically warm the boards with a hairdryer prior to turning on in order to get it started. Worth a shot.

Didn't work.

Hi, I haven't been using my S7 for about 6 month and the last time everything was OK , but now it won't start ( It looks like that the problem is the BB board ).

  • Green/Red LEDs are off same as network socket lights

Red LED at the end of the IO board is ON and the Green LEDs on the front either

Blue LED on the BB board is ON

    Fans working at low speed

Hash boards don't do anything ( they won't start ) and miner doesn't get an IP

Tried resetting using reset button but didn't work.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Safe Wallet for Ethereum ? on: December 11, 2017, 05:07:12 PM
I'm going to invest some money on Ethereum so I downloaded Parity wallet (Which looked a good SPV wallet to me) and I came to some News about Parity wallet got hacked and there are frozen balances.

is it safe to use Parity ?
So what wallet shall I Use for a safe investing ? as far as I got there isn't any real SPV wallet for ETH like Electrum for bitcoin there are many online wallets but I don't really trust them I just want a wallet which let me the full control of my coin (and don't share my private keys with anyone) like electrum for BTC and keep them safe for a long time for investing.

and I can not afford to download the whole blockchain and setup a full node.

What a but a hardware wallet like ledger ? I haven't had any experience with hardware wallets so far. how do they work ? do they need a full node consisting whole blockchain ? Do they share private keys with ledger company ?

You could contact GPUShack to see if they expect to have a GTX 1080 in stock anytime soon. They advertise worldwide shipping on their website.

Thanks , Is this website trustable ?
8  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Guys selling GPUs accepting Bitcoin at Low Prices On AliBaba.com on: November 20, 2016, 07:02:57 PM
I guess Online Markets sometimes offer products for prices that are sometimes half of what an Original Market can offer in price for the same products. I can't say you should fully trust it, though. My advice to you(like what I always advise myself when Purchasing something online) is always check the trust list of the seller both POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE, try reading users' reviews if possible and hope for the best(most purchasers/buyers mistake is neglecting the trust and going for the lower price).

Yes you're right but i think there isn't such thing like trust list on alibaba. If there were, it would be much better.

Too many Dealers on Alibaba.com are offering GTX 1080 GPUs at vey very low prices such as 200-300$.

Are they Trustable ? Has anyone bought anything from them ?

They also accept Bitcoin which has made it so easy to buy.

I do not think we understand what you are wanting us to do for you?  Are you looking for us to use our money to buy these cards for you and you will buy them from us?  Are you looking to pay retail or below retail and if so how much below retail.  Give us more information.  I am interested, but I want to make sure I am not trying to be had here.

Yes, I just want them below retail price and I'm looking for someone who could buy them below retail price then I will pay him with bitcoin

If you can do it I would to know how much
10× Itunes 25$(for example) will cost me ??

15  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Am I allowed to put AntMiner S7's frequency on 1000 at good temepture ? on: March 28, 2016, 08:29:27 PM
okay  here is what you do.

run ac right into the intake

make sure the fan that blows the air outward is not restricted. So make sure the exhaust is vented out of the room.

Step one

set freq to 700 fan to 70% make sure the psu has 12.5 volts not 12.0 volts

Step 2 fire it up
run it for an hour
check temps  should be 50c or less
check fan speed  should be 4200 to 4600
check errors       should be 0.0025 or less

step 3 jump freq to 725   fan to 70% make sure psu has 12.5 volts not 12.0 volts

step 4
run it for an hour
check temps should be 55c or less
check fan speed should 4200 to 4600
check errors should be 0.0030 or less

keep that pattern of increase.

when temps reach 62c stop
if temps stay under 62 c  and errors get to  0.200 stop

a fan setting of 100% is not necessary   top rpms are about  4200 to 4600
you will get them at 70 to 75% fan setting

I have never seen an s-7 get past freq 800   so good luck at doing better then that

this over clocking voids warranty

Thanks man , How can i check the voltage?
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Am I allowed to put AntMiner S7's frequency on 1000 at good temepture ? on: March 27, 2016, 07:31:18 AM
We need airconditioner to cool down ourselves air tempeture comes near 60C here. airconditioner need to be on 24/7 or we will burn in this hell  Smiley
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Am I allowed to put AntMiner S7's frequency on 1000 at good temperature ? on: March 27, 2016, 07:21:47 AM
Hot summer is near and I need to turn on the airconditioner exactly in front of the antminer, So the airconditioner could cool down the antminer and drop it's tempeture and take it to about 50C(frequncy is on defulat, 700, batch9).

With this tempetrue (50C) Am I allowed to put the frequncy on 1000 ? Is there any risk of hardware damage ?
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / How To Turn OFF AntMiner S7 Beep Sound ? on: March 10, 2016, 10:10:33 PM

19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 turned off automatically on: February 05, 2016, 08:06:27 AM
suddenly i noticed that my hashrate droped from 4.3 to 3.9 and i took a look to the s7 and saw the LED is off on one of the hashboards but after 40s it became on again and my hashrate increased to 4.3

what caused that ?
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 turned off automatically on: February 04, 2016, 08:17:41 PM
why is my hash rate is so unstable

freq is 650 and fan speed is 3,720

is it because of my latency? (I'm suffering from unstable latency)

here is my ping chart
