1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 17, 2020, 12:30:42 AM
It is funny with 4Gb video card in windows 7 I can mine, but when I install windows 10 on the same computer I can not mine anymore because I get error
CUDA error - cannot allocate big buffer for DAG.

anyone knows why is that happend?
Can I disable something in windows 10?

This does sound like a virtual memory problem.

It's a simple enough procedure, but if you need help configuring your VM in Windows, I recently updated my guide here: https://www.cryptoyeti.com/cannot-write-buffer-for-dag-error/
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will be ethereum price in 2 years from now ? on: May 03, 2016, 06:55:53 AM
I picked $20-$50 as that seems the most likely, but I do have to ask, what happened to the other price brackets? The $5 - $20 range is missing as well as the $50-$200 range. Those are fairly large spans that could be very viable targets as well.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump on: May 03, 2016, 06:53:07 AM
May be eth will grow till the last DAO day (it will be HUGE panic buy on the last DAO day) = fear of missing something (human nature)

As illogical as this may seem, especially since The DAO has a 28 day buying window and the first 14 of those will be at the cheapest price (meaning the last days are most expensive), I expect you will be proven right as people will just have to get in before its too late.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are really doubting Wright's claims about being Satoshi on: May 03, 2016, 05:44:28 AM
Well what was the point of all this fake Satoshi stuff once again? Is Craig Wright looking to bring the price up or down? What is he going to gain for himself by claiming to be the real Satoshi and can he be prosecuted for submitting misleading information? I guess free publicity for Bitcoin is not a bad thing after all as this news has been broadcasted around the world to a lot of people.

As simplistic as your answer may seem, it could simply be this in the end, greed. Knowing ahead of time this would cause the price of BTC to fall, and also knowing ahead of time exactly when the blog post and corresponding media releases would be published, one could make an argument that people in the know could take advantage of an excellent shorting opportunity. Though I think they may have expected the price to fall further than the $20 or so dollars it did, if you had access to enough capital and shorted several thousand BTC expecting even a $50 decline you would stand to make a nice profit. Crazy theory, but no more so than everything else we have seen today.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satoshi's Unmasking is Aimed at Blockstream's Adam Back on: May 03, 2016, 05:27:50 AM
Yeah, it's looking like this guy might really be satoshi. But he does need to provide better public proof and dispel the rumors and mass conspiracy theories already, seriously.

You mean better public proof other than the now debunked proof he has already provided? Ask yourself if this was truly Satoshi Nakamoto, the man credited with the creation of Bitcoin, why would he offer up proof that he knew would be debunked in a matter of hours, if not minutes, after if was published in the first place?

There is no way this is Satoshi, it is simply Craig's feeble attempt number 2 at fooling the gullible. Perhaps he will get it right the next time, after all "the third time's the charm."
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shame on CoinDesk - This is why women don't use Bitcoin on: May 03, 2016, 05:04:47 AM
I believe you all are under the mistaken belief that it was the woman that was invited to be on the panel. Where you went wrong in your logic is that is was actually her Shoes that were asked to be on the panel. The woman, was simply there to facilitate getting the Shoes there in a timely manner.

Also, you will notice there is a typo on the screen, it should have said Elizabeth Rossiello's Shoes.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DAO] Price Speculation on: May 03, 2016, 04:58:23 AM
What market cap will the DAO eventually achieve?

Whether we decide to go with Slock.it or another idea, I think we can eventually hit 200 million. But I cant vote in the poll.
200 million what? USD, GBP, ETH, BTC???

Yes, this would be good information to know, are the values used in the poll for DAO tokens, ETH, USD or what? Seeing the DAO has produced close to 140 million DAO tokens thus far, I would guess you are measuring in DAO tokens but clarification is appreciated.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto aka Craig Wright Can't Spell Signature. Craig's Career is #REKT on: May 03, 2016, 04:39:55 AM
well, not saying that I believe wright's claims (or gavin) but everyone makes mistakes. a little spelling mistake won't be a problem if he gave the community a solid proof.

...though on keyboard the key "i" is quite far from "a".

It is more than a simple spelling mistake. Since he also showed this same mistake in one of the scripts that is visible on his blog post, he could have easily used this "mistake" to trick someone by loading data from another file that the misspelled "signiture" variable was pointing to while the observer assumed that the data was from the variable "signature", which also appears in the same script correctly spelled. They would be two different variable to the computer, but would be something a casual glance through the code to an observer exciting he is meeting the real Satoshi might miss.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS: SATOSHI FINALLY REVEALED! on: May 03, 2016, 04:32:01 AM
I am also casting my lot as doubting the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto as being that of Dr. Craig Wright.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum bubble going to happen? 30$ incoming! on: May 03, 2016, 04:23:44 AM
Yeah it's up lately but $30?  That's not gonna happen anytime soon unless some sort of miracle happens.  But good luck,  hope you make money on it.

$20 would be enough  for me to dump all my ETH holdings if that ever happens.

Not saying you are wrong in doing so, but just an observation.

If there is enough interest to push it back to $20 in such a short amount of time I don't see why you would be so eager to get out, as it clearly has the resilience to bounce back. This coupled with the DAO offering should keep pressure on the price. I wonder how many people in BTC's early days had the same sentiment, if it hits $20 I am cashing everything I have out...
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is Not Satoshi Nakamoto on: May 03, 2016, 04:10:13 AM
Evidence is certainly piling up that Craig Wright is not Satoshi. http://cryptoyeti.com/who-is-satoshi-nakamoto/
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Buying DAO though Mist wallet on: May 01, 2016, 03:10:41 AM
I have a new article up explaining how to purchase DAO tokens using the Mist wallet, as well as how to set up and monitor the DAO contract and your personal DAO tokens from within Mist.

do you mining guide for eth? I'm hoping that you can guide newbies like us for eth mining I seen that you focus now with eth thats why I replied here, reading positive feedback with regarding to future dev of eth interest me to try mining it, good luck to your work and thank you for sharing hope to find what I'm looking coming from you.

First off, thank you for taking a look at the site and also taking the time to reply here.

Yes, I have a few dedicated mining guides as well as several tips and tricks in some of the Video Card reviews I have been putting up.

A couple specific ones include:

http://cryptoyeti.com/2016/02/14/how-to-mine-ethereum-on-your-pc/  for mining on a Windows PC

and

http://cryptoyeti.com/2016/03/24/ethereum-mining-gpu-cant-allocate-the-dag-in-a-single-chunk/ addressing the recent 2 GB issue with the DAG file.

Hopefully, I can get some feedback as right now I am writing these guides and they make sense to me, but I do not know what questions are still to be answered. I am looking to continue to write and improve any guides that need additional information.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH being dumped now! on: March 07, 2016, 09:13:33 PM
Seems like a risky time to buy, since it could crash much lower. But then again thats what I thought when it reached $6 and then drop a few percents. So who knows.

I am bullish on Eth long-term, but yes, if this does dump some more expect it to correct to about 50% of its high, which would mean buying back in at 0.015-0.016 range.

At a minimum I would think it may drop below 0.20 which would be a good time to buy back in. This would mirror the similar "correction" that occurred in February when it went from 0.017 down to 0.008 before recovering.

It seems these cycles take a few weeks to play out completely, so it may take a few more days to a week to find the real bottom.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How police think about Bitcoin enthusiasts ? on: February 28, 2016, 05:01:27 PM
When I see this question I think of the Peter Wright situation.  As soon as the press got ahold of this the Australian police had raided his house.  I do not know all of the specifics but that is a pretty quick reaction by the police. This could be an isolated situation.

I think you are think of Craig Wright, and he was wanted on tax "issues" long before that wired article broke. I suppose that story release may have helped move the raid up as once he was in the spotlight he might have tried to run or something, but Bitcoin was not the sole source of his trouble with the law..
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who gets the miners fee? on: February 21, 2016, 11:12:59 PM

I do not understand why we have to pay for 4 cent per transaction tough, isn't that too much? Who decides the 0.0001 should be the optimal miners fee? How come I get lighting fast transaction if I pay 0.01 and I wait 2 days if I don't pay any?

I do not understand why you think 4 cents is too much? Are you trying to send 10 cents transactions around or something?

Any other form of transmitting money will cost way more than 4 cents per transaction. As far as the incentive, yes it is currently 25 BTC per block, soon to be 12.5 BTC around June 2016. At some far off date (2140 I believe) this will be reduced to 0 and the miners will at that point be totally reliant on fees for their income. I would assume long before that fees start to become a larger and larger portion, especially as usage increases.

Still overall this is cheap compared to say VISA, which averages about 3% of the transaction. You might not see the VISA fee on the front end of a transaction as a consumer, but you still pay for it on the back-end via higher prices as the merchant needs to pass along the costs to cover his expenses. Some merchants transacting in BTC will give a discount to reflect this, so purchases made with BTC are the same as those made directly with cash.
