This is a photograph published by CoinDesk today: In this panel, the entire worth and contribution from the only women - is represented by her shoes. While they are nice shoes, they clearly cut the only female out of the story and quite disrespectfully left a mere tiny slice of her representation. Shameful. It is no wonder women don't feel welcome in this group.

I can tell that photo has been shopped. Lol. Cropped. Why did they cut her out of there?

I wouldn't rush to judgement yet, for all we know the image was one they found online or through some other third-party. If someone can find the original photo at some point with evidence she was cropped out (not saying she wasn't but we have very circumstantial evidence) then I'd be more inclined to believe that CoinDesk is at fault.

I believe you all are under the mistaken belief that it was the woman that was invited to be on the panel. Where you went wrong in your logic is that is was actually her Shoes that were asked to be on the panel. The woman, was simply there to facilitate getting the Shoes there in a timely manner.
Also, you will notice there is a typo on the screen, it should have said Elizabeth Rossiello's Shoes.

I agree that it looks careless at the very least but I suspect that this was more a screw-up than conscious malice. Worthy of attention but not outrage I think

They published it. Doesn't matter where it came from or how it was manipulated. It is so clearly disrespectful to the lady with the shoes in photo to be excluded from the panel.

"At least women are represented by her shoes and feet, but there is ZERO representation for niggers, spics, gooks, zips, etc..."
That's what you sound like.
Why don't we remove political correctness from Bitcoin entirely?
Personally, I don't care what gender, religion, race, nationality, nor creed anyone has who adopts Bitcoin.
I've been trying to get women and men on-baord Bitcoin since 2012. No women that I know have been interested at all... until Bitcoin started gaining in value. That tells me all I need to know about women and Bitcoin. It's boring to them or to risky to even consider... until it becomes valuable and massively adopted so they risk little.
PS - You're a moron.

No. I never said anything like that you moron. I think there are already way, way too many zips in Bitcoin.

One photo does not make them disrespectful towards women. I doubt if this was even done with the intent to be rude towards that lady. Some people are a little sensitive about small issues and things like this is hardly noticed, because it's rather an exception than a rule.
I challenge OP or whomever else, to find more examples of this to substantiate the claims being done here. ^hmmm^

It is only hardly noticed by sexist pigs who don't want women to participate. I think it is a glaring announcement - not 'hardly noticed'.

I have a wife and daughter heavily involved with Bitcoin and if you browse through any of my previous posts on the topic, you would find that I aggressively support women participating in Bitcoin. My ultimate goal would rather be, not to make this a gender issue at all, and to concentrate on the stuff that really matters. We have loads of ladies in our weekly meetups and they enjoy the same attention than every man there. We just avoid making issues of every little thing, and rather discuss Bitcoin matters. ^smile^

I too think this to be a mistake while capturing the snap. If they could have thought in that manner they could have never published this image.

Why make so much fuss about a photo? There are other views there. Maybe that is not just the good view that is taken. Or the camera man wants to focus on someone else. Or maybe his hands are shaky.

Women do not use Bitcoin? Strange to hear. After all, women love shopping! Maybe there simply a lack of information in these matters. As for my friends women, they say that simply do not understand all these vessels associated with cryptocurrency. There is similar theme "How to motivate women to use Bitcoin?" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1163902.0

i think you are overthinking the situation. this is more like a shitty photographer's fault than Coindest releasing this photo with the purpose of removing the woman out of the photo, and it doesn't look like a photoshopped picture either.
