3  Economy / Gambling / Re: luckco.in, the social bitcoin casino | free credits, prog. jackpots & contests! on: February 21, 2013, 12:10:02 AM
To all the folks asking for "provably fair", can you name a single other gambling site that lets you look at the source? You can prove its fair int he code and, if you think it isn't, provide a patch to fix it. And, if that doesn't float your boat, you can take the code and launch your own site! IMO, open source >>>>>>> "probably fair" because of the possibilities it makes available.

Maybe the problem is too few front-end developers. I'd be happy to lend a hand at the right price Wink

From now on all communication will be done by email, I will no longer answer any question on this forums.

You mean the anonymous email that you used to notify shareholders and ignored responses to? Hell, the only reason I signed up on these forums was because you required that I private message you from here in order to file a claim and, after repeated attempts as email response, I finally caved. Now you claim that because you're trustworthyness has come into question you're going to go back to that medium of communication?

Done deal. Thank goodness I wasn't out much.
7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Peer Discovery (STUN/ICE/TURN) on: January 06, 2013, 09:43:24 PM
My point was that, since it helps with discovery and firewall punching, why not use this instead of DNS discover? Additionally, it seems that turn servers could be used to help mitigate the firewall issues that generally happen on the peering ports for bitcoin, opening up more peers for the network as a whole. Finally, peers can dynamically be included with these services, removing the crazy complicated functionality for dns discovery.

Now, I'm no expert on this stuff, but at minimum it seems to me that this is on par with DNS discovery with far more advantages than disadvantages.
8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Peer Discovery (STUN/ICE/TURN) on: January 04, 2013, 10:48:40 PM
I'm curious why not implement STUN/ICE/TURN functionality instead (or on top of) DNS discovery?

Here's a basic overview of what STUN/ICE/TURN tries to accomplish. It should be noted, I found this by researching how browsers plan to enable P2P communications via WebRTC.

As such, if we follow a standard implementation for peer discovery, isn't this to the benefit of the bitcoin community? Wouldn't this open up the world to some additional peers stuck behind firewalls and behind proxies? If/when browsers fully support P2P, if we are already following their standard, adding wallet support to a webpage could become extremely simple, allowing further ease of access for bitcoin in the digital world! Any cons to this? What about other positives I'm not considering?

I'm posting this here because its a topic starter and a bit of a noob question to the experts out there. (I also don't want to screw up which forum it goes into).

Their receive API for generating forwarding addresses with callbacks is also down. I was hoping to use this for a site I'm developing but I'm having second thoughts now. Any other recommendations for generating a random btc address and then having a callback sent when coins are received? Or perhaps something i can run myself on windows?

Check out their JSON API, its effectively like running your own bitcoind instance. Maybe that'll work out for you. With these sorts of problem, it might be good if they had a competitor join the fold Smiley

While I am new to these forums, I've lurked them for years. I'm regularly found on sealswithclubs, have contributed to a few bitcoin projects on github (https://github.com/bbqsamich), and am always doing my best to promote bitcoin on google+ (I'm part of the largest bitcoin community there as well), feel free to look me up on there: https://kevinpeno.com (short url for my G+ profile).

Hello there,

While I am new to these forums, I've lurked them for years. I'm regularly found on sealswithclubs, have contributed to a few bitcoin projects on github (https://github.com/bbqsamich), and am always doing my best to promote bitcoin on google+ (I'm part of the largest bitcoin community there as well), feel free to look me up on there.

I finally got an account and would like to be whitelisted so that I can post into the ASIC.COOP claims thread. As far as I know that is the only place I can speak with the maintainer of the stock (as was expressed in his/her email to me). I've replied via email without respose for a few days now, but I believe the email came from an anonymous no-reply box. Regardless of your decision, I'll continue to lurk around and, now that I have an account, contribute to the discussions where I can. I thank you for you time and consideration.
