61  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some theories about bitcoin price because of BCC airdrop on: July 29, 2017, 03:52:56 PM
It is really hard to say what exactly would happen. My theory is the value of Bitcoin now which is around $2600 will become the total value of BTC + BCC after the fork. Meaning BCC will steal some value from BTC in the beginning but will later diverge.

I agree with that. Maybe the total value will drop initially. If there is firming support for one of them, the price will rise a lot.

Ethereum platform and smartcontracts could be used for example for decentralized casinos, insurances and many others
Please take into account that Ethereum project  is still in beta version
But the same applies to any new platform today.
It is not an Ethereum's unique feature any more.

They even say the similar smart contracts feature is going to be applied to Bitcoin network.
But, I haven't explored technical details on how exactly they are going to implement that.

I think the Ethereum has much bigger user community, so more people will use it.

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 07, 2017, 12:23:27 PM
Never to late to buy ETH guys.  Just buy it for long term, and imagine what it can achieve in ten years.  Pure investment, just do not withdraw and sell in a 2x profit!

That is what I did in the past.

Ethereum Roundup With Vitalik
Metropolis Recap
Meetings 15 and 16 for core developers were announced.
Accepted Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) are now listed, many of which have been implemented in C++ and Python. Tests for other clients are being run as well.
Hive readiness for GeneralStateTests is underway by way of conversion to BlockchainTests and is enhanced from old statetests. Clients that have yet to implement GeneralStateTests are encouraged to provide a docker image and contact Martin Swende for Hive testing.
A finalized release date based on when the testing phase has reached the milestone of passing on major clients is still pending. An increase in block difficulty underpins the continued delay of the ice age. Buterin's prognosis is that block times won't exceed 20s until July 12, and won't exceed 30s until September 12.More

Buterin's prognosis is that block times won't exceed 20s until July 12, and won't exceed 30s until September 12

Can they remove the time bomb or delay it further?
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 12, 2017, 04:23:14 PM
You probably already know this, but there are some smart guys out there that are planning to take cryptocurrency to the next level and provide Ethereum with smart coins, not only smart contracts.

Ethereum already got smart coins. It is called Ethereum Classic.

But the price is too low.

That makes them usable

Classic is only a clone... no one is building anything on classic right now, why? I think they luck of solid devs and proper road map.

Most important, you have there thief with stolen money(plenty of them) he is just waiting to dump them on you:)

Maybe people do not like hack coin?
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ZCash Classic pump? on: April 26, 2017, 12:38:16 PM
its already happening Smiley

The price rose over 70% today.
I hope the op did invest in this coin since it did gave some nice earnings for those that believe in it.

It seems it is quite strong recently.

if I use -dcri parameter, but don't provide any dcri pool info, would ethereum hashing increase?
i don'thave time to set up dcri pools and then exchage the coins.
I want only eth, but at the highest speed possible.
What is the best course of action?

If you don't mine DCR, why do you think that you need DCR pool info?

because according to prior post i can use -dcri param when ONLY mining eth, if I am not mistaken.
Just making sure that doing so is OK without having other dcr related info.
It is counterintuitive to most that they can use -dcri parameter to change eth mining while NOT mining dcr at all (even while using -mode 1).
fake mining dcr to increase eth mining?
A nice trick.

It is good that you can use both the ethi and dcri to get the best ETH speed.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit (25.5%) vs Bitcoin Unlimited (25.2%) on: March 09, 2017, 11:42:07 AM
This is probably due to AntPool starting to signal for BU, if they go trough with it we'll see a significant rise in BU hashrate. It may even cause others to jump on and get the train rolling. I agree with Amph, we need something quick, it doesn't really matter which of the two.

I agree with that. We have to make sure that problem is resolved quickly and ease the network congestion.
70  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: February 23, 2017, 07:38:52 AM
The crypto world can become unpredictable sometimes, making our choices of investing into it, a very limited one. From scams to ponzis, there have been many losses from investors, yet making it very difficult to find a reliable investment.

But on the bright side, you could still invest into assets and commodities with your crypto like Gold and Silver. Then, if done right you could profit along the way with a good strategy.

As for me, I only decide to invest into gold (by exchanging BTC to Gold) and into some NXT and BURST assets.

What would be your investment strategy? Please share your tips, advice, or any good strategy you would use to safeguard your crypto investments.  Smiley
I think the best investment strategy is through spreading your money through various investments. It gives less risk if one investment falls down. It would also help you to earn more since in every investment, there is always potential which you may get more chance of profit if you would take many of oppurtunities.
yes i also have the same strategy i also want to invest my assets in different business, as i do not want to put all the eggs in one put as it is more risky and by diversifying the investment ensure the income from different sources.

the bitcoin is the best.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: January 04, 2017, 01:19:50 PM
the simplest and easiest way to invest I can think is buying or earning bitcoin in the low price, and hold it for a long time. no doubt, many people make profit by doing this. but I myself invest my bitcoin into a business. I sell things and get profit. it is another way of investment, but not bad.

Yes that is the simplest way of investing in bitcoin but the thing is that we can't buy bitcoins at a very low price today as the price keeps on increasing. Maybe better to focus more on some other ways where you can good profit like trading. While you have funds for holding, still you need to allocate some of it for trading.
Bitcoin is a volatile investment. No one can preddict when bitcoin in the low price. I think Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) is really apropriate. So we buy bitcoin continously in a fixed amount and a regullar schedule. This is long term investment strategy. Also regardless of where the market will move.

That is why I do not trade it. I just buy low and hold long.
72  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: December 27, 2016, 09:05:03 AM
I would invest by buying 5 bitcoins from zebpay .and sell them within 3 months .and the profit i would  get by selling bitcoins and then by investing them into another .this is my investment strategy for bitcoins.
I think it is not good to set a time to sell your bitcoins .it is better to analyze if you already get the good profit from the price increases you can sell it just right now if you bought bitcoin for 700 value you can sell it right now because the price was touch in 900 value and you make already a profit but if you set it for 3 months and the price is reducing you missed the opportunity to get the profit..

If the bitcoin has more potential to rise, it is better to hold.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: December 11, 2016, 01:39:13 PM
I don't really have that such investment.I just buy Bitcoin when the price drops and then I sell when the price rises. However, I will also save a bit of bitcoin for the long term.Bitcoin is more than enough for me as I believe in its full future potential.

If the bitcoin price rises every month, what will you do?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 06, 2016, 08:00:08 AM
Wow the foundation is really dumping

Any evidence or proof?  Or just salty cuz ETC is dropping just as fast (and has been consistently since August)? Cheesy

Etc is doing very well and has a long future, up 10% this week

So the whales are still accumulating the ETC? It is quite strange, it does not have active develoment at present.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ZCash Classic pump? on: November 20, 2016, 02:39:59 PM
It's certainly clear that the ZCL price is going to ascend to some interesting levels.

What's of even greater (or equal interest) is ZCL's capacity to antagonise ZEC, particularly with reference to determining the significance of the founders reward, vs the significance of the trusted setup, vs trustless projects.

Clearly though, Bittrex and Polonex adoption would be necessary for any meaningful market action.

A good time to get in.

If there is no active development of the ZClassic, the price will not rise. It is just another scam coin.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ZCash Classic pump? on: November 08, 2016, 01:55:13 PM
Lots of traders lost out big on Zcash, no one would venture out on Zcash classic if it goes insanely high like Zcash.

Even the ZCash price is dropping like a stone now. It is possible that the price will be signle dollars soon.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: October 12, 2016, 05:26:53 PM
Investment what i doing is multiple investment to lessen the risk of my money, and also i have savings for back up of my investment since savings is one form of investment.

Yes but if it is saving just by yourself and not putting it in bitcoin will be a little slower. Banks also are slower so I would really suggest that it is in bitcoin currency. In case the price goes up you will be taken by the wave.

If you think the bitcoin is slow, you can try the litecoin, it is 4 times faster. Or use the Monero, it is 10 times faster.
78  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-10-11] Brave Offers First Bitcoin Micropayments to Publishers on: October 11, 2016, 08:32:36 AM
"CoinDesk can independently verify that The Wall Street Journal tops the list, but Brave is not sharing how much bitcoin the publication can collect, or which other sites qualify.

In total, about 8,000 Brave users visited 827 websites over the month-long period ending Friday.

Users can select if some of the sites they visit frequently don’t get paid and control the percentage of a set monthly amount to be allocated to each site.

To collect that bitcoin Brave’s an interested party first needs to verify he or she owns the website by pasting code securely provided by the Brave into its own website, similar to the challenge-response protocol employed by Let's Encrypt, said Eich.

"Now it’s time to start talking to publishers," added Eich.

Partners or competitors?

The newly launched webpage that walks publishers through the process of creating a wallet and receiving funds is part of a larger push to change the way publishers view Brave.

Shortly before the San Francisco-base firm raised $4.5 million, it received an informal cease-and-desist letter from the Newspaper Association of America, which has rebranded as the News Media Alliance.

With this latest release, Brave is seeking to position itself with those publishers as a replacement for revenue that is already being lost by people who use other ad-blocking services, not a new way to muscle in on the publishers’ advertising dollars.

But Paul Boyle, vice president of News Media Alliance, remains skeptical.

After a meeting he had with Eich and other publishers in May, Boyle told CoinDesk he thinks there are other ways for the industry to respond to customer demands for better, more private forms of ads.

"We don’t see where a process of blocking ads and then replacing it with a minimal amount of bitcoin users spread across many users will provide the meaningful revenue we receive today," he said.

Olive branch

To coincide with the completion of the first reconciliation cycle, Eich is currently visiting New York City, where he’ll meet with several publishers, including Dow Jones, which publishes the Journal.

So far, only a "handful" of publishers have signed up, according to Eich, who has also met with this publication."
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam on: September 17, 2016, 06:02:48 PM
The price of Ethereum is also rising a lot in the past few days. The volume is picking up. So the Ethereum is still alive after the attack.

I think if the Ethereum price drop a bit to below 0.017 or lower, that would be a very good time to buy more.

You might be disappointed now. The price of the Etheurem is steadily above the 0.019 for the last few days.

There's a saying you cannot put a good crypto currency down. The price will keep on rising no matter what.

If there is continuous development of that coin and it s supported by a good community, the price will rise.
80  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: September 04, 2016, 07:32:32 AM
my investment strategy is simple, buy it when price bitcoin is down and sell it when the price is rise
and also hold some btc for the longterm invesment. I want to sell it if price bitcoin up to $1000

Well, many people also do this out there, buy when the price goes down and sell when the price goes up. Investing on gambling sites is also a good one, you can earn a good interest on it.

I can wait for at least 10 years before I sell any bitcoins. I have already hold them for 4 years. I have the patience.
