641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Is there any benefit of listing tokens on a large exchange? on: September 17, 2018, 08:40:52 AM
In my opinion big exchanges are favored by whales and it is where most pump and dump activities takes place .Big exchanges have more coins listed, more volume traded and more liquidity. So listing a coin on big exchanges gets noticed fast and if coin has good potential ,it will have more demand and price goes up naturally or if not gets pumped up
The large exchange has a larger volume of trades. But that does not mean that whales will pump your coin.
Whales will pump that coin, which is controlled. Perhaps for this operation is more convenient small exchange.
A few hundred coins are traded on a large exchange, so you can wait for a pamp for a very long time.
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Masternodes/POS the future of mining? on: September 17, 2018, 08:06:01 AM
POW mining requires expensive equipment for POS mining needs coins.
POW coins have the cost of production, the cost of POS coins tends to 0.
With equipment for mining you can mine different coins. You are not attached to one coin, if its rate has fallen, then you can get another.
If the coin POS rate fell, you lost money.
POS mining resembles a game with chairs, only it has 100 players and 10 chairs. 10 sit on the chairs, the rest on the ass Smiley
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining income using rig on: September 16, 2018, 08:40:18 PM
Buying equipment for mining now is not the best investment, even if you have the most expensive electricity.
The payback for this business is very low. If you are a long time ago and have paid for the equipment, then the equipment will work as long as the mining give revenue.
In other cases, it depends on how much the investor is willing to risk and wait for the growth of the courses.

Дождались! on: September 16, 2018, 06:51:48 PM

646  Local / Майнеры / Re: Сворачиваемся? on: September 16, 2018, 03:24:10 PM

647  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org YouTube channel? on: September 16, 2018, 02:16:28 PM
Recently the idea occurred to me that it might be cool to have a bitcointalk.org YouTube channel. It could contain things such as:
 - Bitcoin information
 - Summaries of recent high-quality posts
 - Summarized crypto news, but from a neutral perspective, without any pump-and-dump

If there was regular (eg. weekly) content, this might be a good way of attracting good new users and making existing users feel more engaged in the community.

Does this sound like a good idea? Is anyone interested in producing this content? I suppose we'd need at least someone with good camera presence, someone skilled at video editing, and one or more script writers. I might be willing to dedicate some forum funds to this.
YouTube is a good idea, but not for development.
The YouTube channel may attract new users, but given the current system of ranks, you will lose users.
You have a very large forum and the largest community. All projects are already placed here.
You can create any system on the basis of the forum:social network, crypto Bank, any services for ICO.
It is important that the user can do what he likes and earn money in an honest way, and not engaged in shitposting and selling accounts.

649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RADEON rx570 8GB vs Rx580 8gb 2018 on: September 15, 2018, 07:41:26 PM
RX 570 8gb is the better choice now when compared to RX 580 8gb. The price of RX 570 is cheaper. But if you can find a good deal with the RX 580, then that would be the choice. But it is almost to find an ideal deal with RX 580. So RX 570 is the better choice. Anyway, both are almost at the same hashing rate.
Under the current situation, the issue is not relevant. The difference in price between Rx570 8GB and Rx580 8gb is 20-30 dollars.
But considering that the Rx570 and Rx580 are the same as the Rx470 and Rx480 (although everyone knows that Rx470 and Rx480 are better in the mining).
Rx470 and Rx480 appeared on the market in June 2016 and today this architecture is obsolete and has a payback period of more than 3 years.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Estimated Hash Rates for the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti on: September 15, 2018, 06:41:35 PM
In the near future, the test results should be released, but they will not reflect all the capabilities of the new generation of video cards.
After a few months, the developers optimize the software for the new GPU architecture and memory and then we will get a real result.

Here are a few tests of  RTX 2080 Ti & RTX 2080

651  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin holders will have to pay their tax? on: September 14, 2018, 04:38:55 PM
I am not sure what are you willing to say exactly but as of now, I am paying taxes for the earning made in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency for that matter. It is true that Bitcoin is not yet legalized by most of the governments but that doesn't mean we shouldn't pay tax on it. Any gain is subject to tax (with some provisions and exceptions) in my jurisdiction so even if it is not taxable as Bitcoin but it is taxable as a monetary gain in my country.

OP probably wanted to say that you may have to pay a tax on your cryptoholdings very much like you have to pay a  property tax every year in so many countries. For example, if you own a few acres of land or a piece of real estate, say, a shabby cabin by the lake, these are all taxable. Though I don't know how any government is going to collect such a tax if it levies it on possession of crypto. I don't know if there is such a government, but it would interesting to see how things are going to develop in this particular case and what their mileage will be

As for myself, such tax doesn't make much sense as it will be very hard to collect and yet harder to prove tax evasion

Yes, tracking crypto holdings and assessing the tax liability is the real trouble for the governments. I recently read this article,

* Japan’s National Police Installing Crypto Transaction Tracking System - Bitcoin News.

But there is always a loophole for such system and hence the whole system is based on self-declaration and assessment in the initial phase, that would create chaos across the crypto community. As of now, in my country, we are taxed when the amount is converted into the fiat currency and there is no other way for the government to believe on the information furnished by the taxpayer assessee.

It will create chaos in the tax system itself before anything else. For example, here, in Soviet Russia (lol) the tax authorities have officially stated that they are not going to do anything about crypto and those who are involved in cryptocurrency operations. And it is not about possessing crypto and declaring it, it is about anything crypto related assuch including income tax on profits earned via cryptocurrency operations ("buy low, sell high"), the tax which you should pay in other countries lest you get in jail. Yes, it is an official position of the Russian tax service, and it is dictated by understanding that going after every potential tax dodger would create more problems than solve

So cryptocurrencies are officially tax-free or tax-exempt in Russia

The population of the Russian Federation is 147 million.
The working population is 71.8 million.
Millions of them are officially not employed anywhere and do not pay taxes.
Citizens of the former Soviet republics + Chinese, Koreans and other people who live without registration can not be counted (several million 2-5, read some opinions). They also do not pay taxes. All issues are resolved through bribes.

This is our country, and mining has nothing to do with it. Catching miners is a difficult task and not the most urgent problem.

Vitalik promised us the change  algorithm in 2019 to the POS. (although I've heard it for 3 years already  Grin)

Bitmine is a world leader, they can easily make equipment faster, better and cheaper and start selling it in early 2019.

I very much doubt the demand for this equipment in mid-2019.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Mining Power Consumption with 13 GPUs on: September 14, 2018, 02:41:17 PM
Hello all,
I manage to build a 13 Rx 570 GPUs mining rig with Asrock H110 Pro BTC. When I probe the AC output with multi meter during ethereum mining operation, it consumes around 1,980 more or less watt of power. The GPUs themselves are consuming around 1,300 watt, but the rest like CPU and PCI risers are consuming 680 watt of power. Does this sound right? Or is there any other way to suppress the consumption?

regards

Buy a wattmeter, then you will have accurate data

Consumption 1980 watts

For example, the efficiency of the power supply unit is 90%, hence the farm consumes 1800 watts

1800 watts -100 watts (consumes CPU, MB, HDD ...) ( I did not take into account the additional cooling)
1700/13 = 130 watts consumption of each card.

this is the usual power consumption of these graphics cards without a downvolt.

using a BIOS modification or a WattTool program, you can reduce the consumption of a each card to 100 watts (90-110 watts depending on the model)

655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Is there any benefit of listing tokens on a large exchange? on: September 14, 2018, 10:56:10 AM
If the price of the coin sinks to the bottom, then its price is very difficult to pump.
This will require large financial investments. Perhaps the organizers of the ICO missed important points.
But such surprises seriously undermine the credibility of investors
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ETH is really coming back strong and special right now!!! on: September 13, 2018, 08:08:39 PM
Tomorrow or a little later the ETH will drop to 150 dollars and below and people will again scream that ether scam.
Do not rush to rejoice, the new price reduction is yet to come.
Why do you think like that? I think ETH will not reduce again. 20% increase is a good sign. It seems some big buddies have been entered into the market. Also, $150 is still a goodd price for ETH if we look back at the previous year.
Because the big buddies has not bought enough crypto currency.
Therefore, they do not plan to increase its rate on exchanges.
I do not see any positive prerequisites.
The owners of ICO still have a lot of ETH and they can still drop the price very much.

658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Is there any benefit of listing tokens on a large exchange? on: September 13, 2018, 03:37:09 PM
In my opinion, this is a typical situation when the price of a token falls after entering a centralized exchange. There are rumors that the exchange for listing get a huge number of coins and then sell them at any price and that is why the coin rate drops.
The exchange receives part of the money in bitcoins and part of it in tokens. It is not profitable for an exchange to sell promising tokens immediately.
It is more profitable to wait for the pamp and sell several times more expensive.
Perhaps there are other reasons for this situation.
659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN AND ALTCOIN on: September 13, 2018, 02:01:19 PM
Bitcoin has more speculative opportunities thanks to futures and other exchange-traded instruments.
ETH and other altcoyins are not traded on futures exchanges. The market of crypto-currencies is now run by speculators.
I would not try to find a connection in a speculative market.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment in ICO on: September 13, 2018, 10:57:48 AM
In this post I wrote how prices for tokens fall by the example of a large ICO, which collected more than $ 100 million.
