Sorry for asking a question that's probably already been answered but I have looked a bit and this thread is very long.
Anyway, I'm trying to run on Win7 x64, I can run the plain vanitygen binary no problem, but the oclvanitygen gives me the LLVM ERROR problem. What is the latest on this? Is it a Catalyst problem? If not what are the causes?
I have on 6950 and one 7950 and it doesn't seem to run on either... Any tips for a total n00b would be very much appreciated!
The catalyst control center 13 and associated drivers has trouble running vanitygen you must downgrade to version 12.8 I've rolled back but I'm still getting the error on both cards I'm afraid. Any idea? Is the commandline instruction I'm using OK? Which is "oclvanitygen -D 0:1,grid=1024x1024,invsize=1024 -o results.txt 1Test" in case you missed my edit on the previous page!

EDIT: am running with: oclvanitygen -D 0:1,grid=1024x1024,invsize=1024 -o results.txt 1Test Don't really know what I should be trying. If I use 0:2 to point it at the CPU it does work, but deviced 0:0 and 0:1 both crash...

A very interesting incremental pricing structure has just appeared on BitFunder. I wonder who is responsible for it... I'm pretty sure it's not LR himself, (...) Nope, it's not @Lab_Rat. Just confirmed with him. Someone else is trying to breadcrumb the price up. We should be hearing from the Rat himself shortly regarding Saturday's dividend payments. grnbrg. All I can say for sure about that pricing structure is it must have taken a long time to do, each of those would have to be set by hand

A very interesting incremental pricing structure has just appeared on BitFunder. I wonder who is responsible for it... I'm pretty sure it's not LR himself, and given the number of shares that make up those sell orders there are only two people with enough shares to do that... Does anyone know why BitFunder doesn't have cumulative depth graphs like virtually all other sites by the way? They are a lot more useful than non-cumulative ones FWIW I think I quite like it. It seems to provide some stability on a market that otherwise doesn't have a lot of order volume on either the buy or sell side, which makes valuation and predictability difficult. Anyone have any thoughts?

Haha No need to apologize, I was just giving you some friendly ribbing. ;-)
No, it was good have it pointed out, thanks! It means the returns were in fact twice what I thought! I will pass the correction on to the person who gave me to faulty calculation

This weeks dividend (not including the extra payment) equates to an annualized rate of return of roughly 27% based on a BTC0.16 per share investment - and we are just getting started! AFAIK the capital raised to date has not been fully committed. All early adopters must be pretty happy.
No doubt we will get a good update from LR now that he is back from his roadtrip!
This is correct, but you need to halve that figure as it was paid double in error (see above). You can expect rates like the ones you said pretty soon though... As you even quoted, he said NOT INCLUDING THE EXTRA PAYMENT. Haha, you're quite right, apologies. I actually only looked the numbers that were written, not the words. Someone else I was speaking to had done the maths (incorrectly) and got a number exactly half of that, so I assumed he had used the double payment to get the figure doubled. He didn't, and was quite right, and I should have a) read what he'd written properly, and b) done the maths myself rather than trusting someone else's calculations... Apologies again, and that is good news indeed!

I just got dividends twice at ฿0.00083112 for a total of ฿0.00166224
Was it a mistake? So no dividends next week?
I received same. Guessing it's a mistake. Smells like a mis-click to me. My estimates were for a tiny bit more than the one payment we got, but nowhere near double. We shall wait for clarification for the powers that be though... How does it work if it was a mistake? Does the excess get removed from our accounts automatically? I doubt (and hope) that's not possible. I imagine it will be deducted from next week's payouts, though this will obviously cause problems for people planning on buy/selling shares in the meantime. If there were no sales there would be no problem, but as we're back in open-market mode then this could be a bit of a whoopsie. As I was saying, wait for the powers that be to decide how to handle it. Worst case scenario (for him) is he just takes it on the chin at a cost of ~30 BTC to him/the company in order to avoid the complication of dealing with the shares that change hands between now and next week...

LRM up to 0.2...
Interested to see what the dividend payout will be.
It's not going to be huge, but it should be quite a bit better than last week, see above, e.g. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=251423.msg2992405#msg2992405Also, it may be a day or so late this week, as stated before by LR as he is away at the moment, so don't panic if it doesn't come through today... Yep I saw your earlier post. A 500% increase is pretty hefty I think! Err, guys, whilst I'm 100% positive about LRM, I want to manage expectations a little here. Yes, it's a 500% increase, but from 0.7% of the hashrate that LRM needs to fulfil the 350MH/bond, to 4.2%, so if we're talking about percentage increases, we need to see another 2,000% increase (yes, compounded on the last 500% increase) before we're looking at 350MH/s/bond. Everything is coming along well, but don't be thinking that the share price should be mirroring the increase in hashrate - that would be insane as the hashrate was 0 at the IPO. I'm not being negative at all here, I just don't want to see people losing their minds, buying like crazy, then realising what they've done and a) losing lots of money and b) crashing the share price... That said, I have shares to sell, so knock yourselves out I agree with you, but there is a basic saying here "The early bird gets the worm". I believe anyone buying shares now sees the potential that Lab Rat Mining has with their various contacts/relationships with different ASIC Manufacturers. He's able to get a VERY good price and pass it on to us (It's basically like us buying a machine with extra costs/work involved) Because of his bulk purchases he's in the wholesale line for these manufactures which is different from the retail line. You buy shares based on potential, not what they are currently doing. You look at what they are currently doing to gauge the likelihood of their potential. I believe we will see very happy shareholders this coming month I totally agree, you are preaching to the choir my man!

(....) and early shareholders will easily recover what they spent on shares.
Speaking of shares... Nearly 200 shares have been traded at around 0.185 in the last 24 hours. That's up 15% over last week. I've also been told that another Single and Little Single were added to the mining pool over the week, bringing the total hashrate from 610 GH/s to 700 GH/s. grnbrg. I think they are still good value at that price, thought time will tell. It's the usual case of risk/reward ratio, but once the BitFury shipments hit I imagine that price may move considerably further...
|
|
|
They will be only about 5 times better than last time. Still far away from 20TH that should be....
Yes, "only" a 500% increase in one week. We are already: ~15% of the way to the promised 100MH/bond, 4.2% of the way to the intermediate 350MH/bond and 2.6% of the way to the currently forecast 570MH/bond but it has only been a couple of weeks. This is quite promising IMHO, and when BitFury gets going, things are going to change rapidly...

I'm excited for this weeks dividends You are not alone!

To be honest, I haven't been segregating them and marking which samples are my original ones vs which were sent to me. They're all mounted to boards in whatever order they're sitting in trays.
That's fine, I just wanted to make sure that BFL actually sent mine to you, otherwise I'll chase them up! Do you know if mine ever arrived? Yep, they sure did. Thanks! Awesome, glad they made it to you! Now I've just got to cross my fingers and hope my chips aren't too far behind...

Great work, MrTeal! BTW, how shitty were the samples I sent? LOL... Don't know yet. The 8 chip board is being fabbed as we speak, so I should know more one they're built. Did mine arrive with you yet?
