381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why *some guys claim Monero is the BEST coin ? on: June 14, 2016, 12:27:19 PM
You missed cure for Cancer and World Peace.

To the best of my knowledge, these two things aren't invented yet...

A fair interpretation given the circumstances. But DOA? Has a high market cap, strong trading albeit magnitude less than Monero, Lots of development - have you downloaded the gui node or commerce node recently? More important, it was the code that your beloved Monero was forked from and is now more or less completely rewritten from the original.

Bytecoin is a scam, has been demonstrated ad nauseam...

I wasn't trying to downplay them - I would just like to know what these advances are that make Monero, not just the best cryptonote but second only to BitCoin itself.

just for you:
moved from in-RAM database to a backend-agnostic blockchain database
created an LMDB blockchainDB implementation (with the help of Howard Chu, the creator of LMDB)
created a BerkeleyDB blockchainDB implementation
created an OS-agnostic raw blockchain format
built tools to convert between blockchain implementations, as well as import and export them
added ARM support
brought back 32-bit support (WIP)
added QoS (bandwidth control)
added OpenAlias support
fixed all (previously broken) unit tests and core tests
implemented daemonize for proper backgrounding of the Monero daemon
drastically increased sync speed
included block headers in the source
designed and implemented a stealth payment ID scheme
designed and implemented a unified address+payment ID scheme
implemented a hard fork mechanism
changed the block time to 2 minutes
implemented the MRL-0001 and MRL-0004 recommendations
added tons of simplewallet / rpcwallet / daemon commands
added a dust handler to simplewallet
created a multilanguage mechanism, implemented in simplewallet
bug fixes, bug fixes, bug fixes
completely overhauled the CMake (with the help of Kitware, the creators of CMake)
added a bad peer auto-banning mechanism
refactored a ton of code, added a ton of comments
added a core crypto implementation based on SUPERCOP ref10
switched to a triangular distribution for output selection
added multiple new mnemonic wordlists, including Russian and Italian
created a "trusted daemon" system for remote daemon use
Major performance and size improvements to the LMDB database implementation
Urgent and important bug fixes for the upcoming hard fork
Huge bug fixes to the database hard fork handling
New simplewallet flag to restore from keys
Initial work on a wallet library / API
Updated in-source block headers
Urgent bug fix for database corruption issues in 0.9.2
Official Windows 32-bit releases are back
Updates to miniupnpc
Sets v3 fork date for September, 2016
Fixes core tests and re-enables them
Fixes a problem with –password-file not working in RPC mode
....
--> the database-implementation effectively took RAM-usage from gigabytes to ~30 MB... most people call this 'progress'

And I wasn't just talking about fans - take a look at my trashed trust - the only negative trust I have recieved is from Monero devs and shills because I made similar points I am making here.

don't care, but still, you got nothing on the technology itself, maybe it's time to do some introspection on why you hate a cryptocurrency this much... you've been acting like a little bitch about monero since its inception, no idea why...

Sophism lives in Monero community!

Socrates would be sad  Embarrassed Cry

I am out. Community sucks, with some bright exceptions.

Zcash will teach you a lesson I suppose.

For those interested (and I have many people in my team that like XMR) I still cover this coin because TA is TA.
If I see an opportunity in XMR I will advise everyone to buy.

Currently the guideline is to not touch this unless it gets ridiculously oversold (50-75k) because from TA PoV (performance, relative strength to ETH, LSK etc), liquidity, whale manipulation etc etc SUCKS!

Keep holding your bags as 'investors' lol

For all I know, your TA is spot on.

But what you don't seem to understand about the Monero community is that few of us really care about being a mover and shaker in the markets. We only want to advance the state of decentralized, private money. If Zcash could "teach us a lesson" and create something better, I'm all for it (but I'm not exactly holding my breath).

Sure, most of us hold coins and would love to see the price skyrocket, but unlike the other cryptos you mentioned, profit is not really why we're here. I'm speaking for myself of course, but I say "we" because I know I'm not the only one.

The point is, saying the community sucks or that our "investment" sucks probably doesn't have the effect you're hoping it will.

^THIS, well said sir!

couldn't care less about current price nor marketcap... It's (currently) the best damn technology out there, I want to be a (small) part of it...

best regards

Oh lordy...it's.....it's....like a billion monero tokens just appeared from no where?  Roll Eyes

wow, demand for xmr must be monstruous, even with the extra billion tokens it's just half as much down as Dash... off course, there's always the possibility that someone started to dump the dash-20%-instamine...

386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 27, 2016, 10:07:23 AM

I wish there was more development going on and a good GUI wallet, etc.

this has been discussed ad nauseam already... If you're in XMR you're not in it for the hype, the fancy GUI, the marketing... You're in it for other reasons... you're in it because you believe it's the best form of digital money available today, you're in it for maybe ideological reasons, you're in it cause you think cryptonote is fantastic technology and so on...

If you're in it for a quick buck or a pump and dump scheme, then I'm sorry to bring it to you but you're at the wrong door...

GUI is being developed by the way, but I'm glad the dev-team chooses to build a superstrong basis first with great innovations, this should always be the priority, not the hype and marketing and the quick buck...

best regards

12 + never happened, still equals 12.

But ATM he has a stage and an audience and a stated 1 of 12 exploits to pick from....any day now....

What's pathetic is your sad attempt at fud when your coin's a complete mess. Anyone else smell the desperation because I can.  Roll Eyes

Where do I FUD?

I can smell your bullshitstories for sure, you're unworthy of a normal discussion...

John Connors Accusation:
I discovered 13 ZeroDay's in Monero source code and exploited the v2 block bug that split the network consensus. The remaining 12 I'm keeping in my back pocket so next time they piss me off again or attempt a DoS. Wink

John Connors Proof of his accusation:
People should check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1233817.0 before voting. Cool

Pathetic...
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Monero run an ICO? on: May 25, 2016, 06:22:17 AM
Wouldn't be The first time John Connor got caught lying... Or stealing for that matter...

Burden of proof is on him...

392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Monero run an ICO? on: May 22, 2016, 07:56:37 PM
Can you guys stop trolling Monero?

At some point I'm looking to buy back lower but you keep pushing the price up.

^this indeed...

stop giving monero a trollboner please!

393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR MONERO'S NEW FEATURE: Zeroday 12 Exploits! on: May 16, 2016, 03:36:05 PM
here is a simplified version of what a zeroday bug is.
https://www.techopedia.com/definition/27451/zero-day-threat

and heree is a link to examples of them
https://www.wired.com/2014/11/what-is-a-zero-day/

In truth I hope this isnt true, because it would probably effect all bytecoin clones.

there is no way for me to validate this claim though, I am not a hacker or a code reviewer of a caliber even close to what is needed to find the truth about this.

I know what it is, if you find 13, you can at least show one of them, no? Then you have still 12 you can exploit...

394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR MONERO'S NEW FEATURE: Zeroday 12 Exploits! on: May 16, 2016, 03:27:19 PM
@bigfryguy

Why are those not in OP or at least link to them?

I know answer since i am deep in mind of this group that spam this forum last 2 years.

^this... please, show some proof, otherwise just FUD...

395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: May 12, 2016, 08:42:36 AM
riddle me this.... what exactly are the "things that happened" that i say did not happen.
seems like vague accusations with no discernible articulable facts for me to dispute.

Euuh, not sure if you actually read the topic you've started, but all the things you said were pretty much totally debunked in the postings after the one I quoted...

so I guess yes, you're not to be trusted in any way cuz you peddle fiction to further your own financial cause... please, don't expect me to repeat everything that's stated in there...

why oh why am I wasting my time on this again?

good luck with Dash Nation, Dash Dalmation, Evolution, whatever else your fantastic multi-trick pony is doing, though mixing coins seems to take an eternity: http://blog.makemoneywhileyouwork.com/2016/01/11/using-alt-coins-to-mix-bitcoins/

Why the bitmonero/monero Ninjalaunched Cripplemined Fastmine matters
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1435385.0

@Mastermined: third post out of your topic you're quoting:

This is on topic.

I have not looked into monero. The things he claims "could" be true

HOWEVER - i would not trust one word mastermined710 says.

I was on the xcoin(dash) captive instamine launch. I was there in real time and watched it unfold.

He now tries to deny things that happened  actually happened  on that launch. He is not to be trusted.

Although, this is not a dash/xcoin/dark thread I will not go into it here. I will only say if you want examples of his lies then please contact me for details.

This person is either a total scammer or likes to try and destroy the truth with nuances that are laughable. His tactic is to say he is telling the truth so that the real truth that is a correct and proper picture is distorted and cast in doubt.

He is making this thread only to divert from the dash scam thread.

He is a scam protector and pumper.

well played sir!

best regards

A record 5th red week in the row. That's impressive, even by Monero's dumping standards.

I think it's buy time.

not yet..i think xmr will retest its 0.001 floor  Grin

apparently bought some tonite at 179k sat...

so yes, I think we'll hit 0.001 very soon  Wink
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DASH added to BTC-E. Monero not on: April 27, 2016, 03:04:53 PM
good luck with that

There is really no luck involved : its all about prioritizing development, providing clear roadmaps, giving feedback to your community
and making sure the core tasks of your cryptocurrency (Darksend, InstantX, Decentralised Budget system) get as much attention (update 12.1) as
developing a more userfriendly third-tier orientated light wallet with help of DAPI and python code langage (Dash Evolution).

Note : the coretasks work fine currently but its always a good thing to analyse them to see if they can get optimized and work more efficiently.

jup, the core-task of 'anonimyzing' your coins obviously works 'fine when one has to wait ages for it...

anyway, enjoy your spott while it lasts indeed... the currency you're defending is all wrong (just the basics of what should be considered good cryptography, good money, whatever...) and thus doomed

399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DASH added to BTC-E. Monero not on: April 27, 2016, 02:46:32 PM
oh come on, let's stick to the important things here... Dash doesn't even work: http://blog.makemoneywhileyouwork.com/2016/01/11/using-alt-coins-to-mix-bitcoins/

good luck with that

Who said that we are not seeing under 0.002 again? Cheesy

jep, here we go, hope to acquire the last tranches between 15k and 17k sat... will be satisfied, had to have a lot of patience these last months, but we seem to be getting there...  Grin
