61  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Assembly Service for BitFury Rev.2 Chips - Assessing Interest, USB Miners on: March 29, 2014, 04:28:26 PM
I'll take at last 10 of the NF6. May do more depending on quantity pricing.

The group buy should be executed this weekend. I'm buying at least 500 extra chips for people who will be wanting assembly through the forums, but the best pricing will be for people who get their order in prior to when I submit payment.

If you are ordering assembly services through Swimmer63 you can skip paying for shipping for now as it will either be free or reduced.
62  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BitFury Chips. Revision 1 Bare chips. on: March 29, 2014, 03:41:23 AM
As far as I know, if you connect the pins and have firmware it will work. I know they put the Nanos we did in a reflow oven, but it was to bind all the parts to the board, not specific to the parts.

I plan to take PayPal for the extra chips I order in the R2 group buy, but am trying to collect the advanced orders in BTC so I don't have to try to convert the PayPal back to BTC before purchasing.

65  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 25, 2014, 09:19:12 PM
I setup a new antminer today, but am having trouble getting it to connect to my pool. I am trying to connect to my BTCGuild pool, but no mater how I configure the setting, it is showing as dead. If I leave the pools from the default settings, the first one can connect, and the other 2 show dead.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a better pool that is easier to point these to?
66  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] Rev. 2 Bitfury Bare Chips - (Up to 3.8 Gh/s) - 2,600 Chip Vac Pack on: March 25, 2014, 03:34:48 AM
So these will probably be populated onto usb miners or 16-chip boards yes? In that case put me down for 36 (4 extra's for usb miners).

Most likely, in the sense that those are the designs currently available or being openly worked on. The only real limit is your imagination, and of course technical expertise.

One of the biggest hurdles in designing new hardware is that there is no manual that tells you to interface and communicate with the chips. So you need talented knowledgeable people to figure that out, program drivers, and make everything work together. This is why you don't see more open source designs, someone has to put a lot of time and/or money into getting the thing to work in the first place. This may be overcome with Bitmain chips, as they are releasing open source hardware documentation. I have been considering a group buy for those as well, but it is a BTC100 minimum and 6 week lead time just to get the chips. So someone would already have to have a design ready to make it worthwhile for everyone.
67  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] Rev. 2 Bitfury Bare Chips - (Up to 3.8 Gh/s) - 2,600 Chip Vac Pack on: March 25, 2014, 03:07:48 AM
Is anyone offering assembly services for bitfury boards? I love bitfury gear, but I can't do much with chips on my own.

I've helped several people turn their chips into working NF1 / NF2 boards (including almost literally hand-holding through the entire process).
Depending on how quickly you want the magic to happen it takes on average 2-4 weeks from end to end (the moment you decide you get the chip till you have hashing boards).

Feel free to PM me if interested. If it turns out there are a lot of people interested I may set up a separate thread.

I'm sure there are also other people that can help in that area too.

I reserved the 2nd spot because I was going to go into more elaborate detail on assembly service.

I can also offer assembly services for any of your boards as long as you have the design and specs ready for production. I'm assuming there's some other people on here as well, so you can likely get competitive pricing and varying levels of quality and expertise if you ask around.

The NanoFuries are probably your best option for single chip USB boards. I have done a few small runs of these myself. vs3 is actually the original designer, and I know he worked with some people from the last group buy to assemble working hardware. The best pricing is going to be on the largest quantity production runs, so if several people went in on a production deal the group would get the best overall price. If you guys form a group buy for hardware production I will be happy to supply the chips, and everyone would save on shipping among other expenses.

I know many people are interested in multi chip boards. This is something I have been working on myself and with my team, but nothing is in production yet. I think there are some open source, or pay-per-processor options out there, but I have little first hand knowledge. I know there is an H card style option out there, which also requires production of a custom M-Board. If anyone finds something they want to work with I can get a quote for assembly and help organize a group or individual production.

If this group buy goes like the last one did, it is going to attract several people with similar goals. This thread can serve as an open discussion. Whatever you are trying to do, there are other like minded people who will work with you if you reach out.

This is a group buy for 2,600 bare Revision 2 Bitfury chips (Up to 3.8Gh/s) at a total cost of €7,800 (~$10,764)
These are raw ASIC chips used in the production of mining hardaware, not a functional miner.
BitfuryStrikesBack.com has the chips in stock and they will ship when paid.

I do not represent BitfuryStrikesBack in any way.
I buy these chips to assemble into working miners. I put together this group buy by request and to get a good price for smaller quantities.

*Update 4/1* 1 vac pack has been ordered. I am selling 400 of the 1,000 chips I purchased for myself. Pricing info is the same.

71  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I want Bitfury bare chip 2000 pcs , When they have stock ? on: March 13, 2014, 08:07:52 PM
I complete a group buy 3 reels of 3,000 each last month. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=396536.0

There do not seem to be any full reels in stock currently. I am waiting for news on another production to get 1 for myself and possibly conduct another group buy. Any updates from me would be in the group buy section. If you increase your order size to 3,000 you could get a full reel for yourself from MegaBigPicture when they announce another production.

There is a European side of BitFury will possibly be doing trays of 2,400 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250249.msg5480556#msg5480556 but no official word on that.

Your only option if you need them right now is to pay the single chip price from MegaBigPicture.com otherwise you need to wait for another production (which is not even guaranteed to happen) and pre order by the reel or in a reel group buy to get a bulk price. It's a bottleneck in the hardware development process, but unless you can put up the $1 Million+ to produce your own asic chips you have to follow the cycle of people making raw chip available to small developers and hobbyists.

I can get individual miners running with gpuminer, bu I canno figure out on my own how get the WiiBox controller working. I have it powered up, and I can connect to the interface by typing in the ip that it is on. What do I have to do to get it to communicate with/ recognize he devices? I downloaded v2.0.2.zip , but it is just files I cant do anything with. Am I supposed to copy those files to a mining program? Do I have to connect the usb on the controller to the same usb hub the miners are on?
73  Economy / Services / 2 BTC Bonded Escrow Service From BitcoinValet - 1.25% on: February 28, 2014, 09:08:54 PM
This is an idea I have been floating around in my head for some time, and I have finally decided give it a try and see if it is something people want.

I am offering escrow service for BTC transactions, I can do other virtual currencies as well. What is different about my escrow service is that I am putting a bond for extra assurance that nothing will go wrong on my end. If any loss results from my mishandling, improper transfer, or compromised storage, The BTC value of the transaction up to the full bond amount will be used to cover the loses. To clarify, these are to cover losses caused by me acting as the Escrow agent, it does not cover losses caused by disputes between the transacting parties.

In the event of a dispute, I will make a decision based on the terms agreed upon between the transacting parties. That decision will be posted publicly in the thread for the community to review.

My escrow fee is 1.25%. Transacting parties will decide who pays the fee, and if it is taken out of the amount being held or paid separately.

The bond is currently set at BTC2.
The total bond value is split between 2 wallets.
1Bo7ZaKppSjpvm8f5Wekw1S4fPVNvGhWXE
1GhWKRsjARqgeGpJan7kYhaSUZuPAbz9ud
The first address is a cold storage (paper) wallet that I keep in my possession.
The second address is currently a live blockchain wallet. I am willing to transfer the balance to a highly trusted long time escrow agent, or send them the private key. This is to add additional assurance that I won't just run off with the bond if things go wrong.

The bond will be increased as my service is used, so if this becomes popular, the bond value could become much more substantial.

Contact me by PM or Skype if you would like to use my service.
Skype: BitcoinValet
I am available most days afternoons and evenings. I receive PM notifications by email on my phone, so if I am awake and someone needs something, I am notified fairly rapidly.

I have recently closed out a group buy where I received and shipped $45,000 worth of hardware.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=396536.0
The OP of that thread goes into further detail of my experience and reputation.

Comments or feedback are appreciated. I am new to doing escrow, but knowledgeable of the process. My main objective is to contribute to the community.

One more questoin for individual power supplies. Is 5a a maximum, minimum, or both? If I use a 12V 6A power supply is that going to overload it?
75  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed] Bitfury Bare Chips ~2.6 Gh/s - 3 reels on: February 26, 2014, 08:28:30 PM
As people receive and inspect their chips Could you please leave me trust rating. Send me a pm after you do so and I will return the favor.

All the US buyers shuold have received their chips at this point. The international orders should start arriving late this week through the next week or so, hopefully not much longer.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: February 25, 2014, 07:52:40 PM
What is the final consensus on the connector size for individual power supplies? Is it 2.1mm, 2.5mm, or both?
77  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [In stock] Gridseed 5-chips USB miner - $259 on: February 24, 2014, 11:41:30 PM
Does anyone know the tip size for the connectors on individual power supplies? 5.5mm x 2.5mm seems to be the standard, but I want to make sure before ordering anything.
78  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed] Bitfury Bare Chips ~2.6 Gh/s - 3 reels on: February 19, 2014, 12:03:00 AM
I was only able to get 3 packages out today. I will be packing through the night into tomrrow. Most packages will be sent out tomorrow, everything will be out by Thursday at the latest.
79  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed] Bitfury Bare Chips ~2.6 Gh/s - 3 reels on: February 17, 2014, 10:51:57 PM
I updated everything today so I have a complete order sheet, and the OP matches my quantities. I Pm'd a few people today to collect shipping, but for the most part everyone is caught up.

For international Shipping;
Most people are using USPS express unless we have discussed otherwise. For customs declaration i declare merchandise, described as computer parts, and will have a declared value of $1 per chip, if you ordered 500 or more I will declare them $0.50 per chip. If you need to make other arrangements please contact me.

I got my tracking number today, I should get the reels tomorrow. Depending what time they get in, I will try to get packages out tomorrow. If not they will be packed and ready for the next day. A couple non USPS or international orders may take me an additional day. Everyone that is paid up should have their chips sent out by Thursday, assuming my reels arrive tomorrow (Tuesday). I will PM tracking numbers as they are generated.
80  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed] Bitfury Bare Chips ~2.6 Gh/s - 3 reels on: February 17, 2014, 07:36:59 PM
I got an email today from MegaBigPower saying that reel came in. I don't have tacking yet, but it seems I will have them this week.

I'm checking over my order sheet now, and am going to be sending PMs to anyone who I have not revived shipping payments from. If the op says you have not paid shipping, but you have, please contact me.
