301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do coaches get sacked over poor performance of players? on: February 09, 2024, 03:57:24 AM
I think blaming solely the coach for player underperformance isn't always fair. But even if players disliked him, intentionally throwing matches is unprofessional and detrimental to their careers.

Could the players feel disconnected, demotivated, or unhappy due to the coach's methods, which can reflect their on-field performance?

It might seem more practical to replace the coach than to overhaul the entire roster of players.

Sometimes coaches are unfairly scapegoated for issues that may stem from deeper-rooted organizational problems.

Club management should do a thorough analysis.

Sa nabanggit mo, napaka risky ng ginagawa nya, parang chinallenge nya yung sarili at nag explore out of his comfort zone. Sobrang lakas ng loob, for sure kinailangan nya ng matinding determinasyon at tiyaga kaya nagbunga ng success.
303  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Privacy Protocols on: February 08, 2024, 04:10:16 AM
-snip
Is there any evidence that Satoshi Nakamoto deliberately avoided adding privacy-related protocols and functionality into Bitcoin in order to avoid the ban-hammer?

If so, how did he justify this decision when the very concept of sound money cannot be implemented in an environment where there is no guarantee of absolute transaction privacy?
I think he was a strong advocate for privacy. He reportedly used the IP-masking browser, Tor, for all his public interactions, which is why his public IP address could never be traced back to him.

He introduced password protection to Bitcoin’s JSON-RPC interface, which was crucial for safeguarding user funds, preserving privacy, and ensuring the stable operation of the Bitcoin node. But when it came to incorporating zero-knowledge proofs (ZK-proofs), a privacy protocol, into Bitcoin, Nakamoto expressed difficulty in figuring out how to apply them.

https://cointelegraph.com/magazine/satoshi-nakamoto-zk-proofs-bitcoin
https://news.bitcoin.com/unraveling-the-online-legacy-of-satoshi-nakamoto-bitcoins-mysterious-creator

So, he may have faced technical challenges in implementing certain privacy protocols in Bitcoin.

The absence of certain privacy protocols in Bitcoin does not necessarily mean he deliberately avoided them to evade regulatory scrutiny. It could be due to technical challenges or a different interpretation of what constitutes sound money. However, this is mostly speculation as Nakamoto himself has not publicly stated his reasons.
304  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Coins.ph's USDC HODL and Earn Program on: February 08, 2024, 03:48:24 AM
I just checked itong investment program ng coins.
Buy - 56.46
Sell - 55.67

Para mabawi mo ang Php280.02 dahil sa spread, it will take around 7 to 8 weeks or 2months and 2weeks.

If this is the case, much better ilagay ko nalang sa Maya savings or Gothyme, no need to convert to USDC, and walang fee sa pag cash-in.

Please correct me if may mali sa computation ko  Cool
Nice catch!

305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your response in placing live bets with a friend at a live sporting matches on: February 08, 2024, 03:28:48 AM
-snip
Question:who has been in this scenario before? And how did you managed with your emotions then?
I haven't been in the exact scenario, but I've had similar experiences with friends while watching games, and I've witnessed similar situations unfold. It's completely normal for emotions to run high, especially when money is involved. Sometimes, things just don't go the way we hope. If I were in that situation, I would remember that it's just a friendly bet, and whoever wins, sportsmanship should be present. Our main goal is to enjoy the game and each other’s company, not just to see who wins the bet. After all, it's just a game, and I won't let the outcome define our friendship.
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 07, 2024, 09:46:05 AM
There is nothing good that can come out of being addicted to gambling, and what's even worse is selling valuable assets; it's like losing your right sense of judgment. You no longer think about whether your decisions are right or not; that's something I could never do when it comes to gambling. This serves as proof that you won't just have financial problems but also issues with relationships and your overall well-being. But in the story shared by OP, it's fortunate that he returned home and changed his lifestyle, opening up the possibility of recovery and redemption. Three years is quite a long time, but it's a good thing that he survived even though he was far from his family.
307  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Makikipagpustahan kaba sa ganito? on: February 07, 2024, 09:23:08 AM

308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy bitcoin now? on: February 06, 2024, 11:14:40 PM
Do you think it is convenient to buy bitcoin now according to your predictions? Or wait for its value to drop further?
As they say, if not now, then when?
If you don't know when, well, no one knows.

But before you buy Bitcoin, you should be aware of the risks involved, especially its volatility. You may gain a profit or incur a loss.

Bitcoin investment is not a get-rich-quick scheme, there is no guarantee that Bitcoin will increase in value. It is important to have realistic expectations about potential returns.

And the ultimate advice is to only invest what you can afford to lose. The most important thing is that you have conducted your research before deciding.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the next step for Solana? on: February 06, 2024, 10:59:59 PM
I think Solana is not ready yet for the next phase or big leagues while it faces the same issue over again, their setback is a big concern. Their outage questions the ability to handle increased demand and sustain itself in the long run. They need to rectify the issue to maintain the trust of their users, and developers and attract new projects.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the 11th outage in the past two years. More and more projects are interested in building on Solana, but how can they keep up if the network keeps going down? They need to find a way to make their network more reliable. Otherwise, they risk losing ground to their competitors.
310  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor people need solution now on: February 06, 2024, 02:53:13 PM
As mentioned above, how can you face challenges like legality? Creating and using your currency is illegal in many countries, including potential issues with counterfeiting and tax evasion.

Relying solely on local productions might not be feasible for all communities, especially in regions with limited or harsh climates.

How will you deal with exchanging with outsiders? Enforcing rules on people outside the community who want to buy food could lead to conflict.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: February 06, 2024, 12:29:08 PM
Everyone who engages in gambling, whether they are beginners or experienced players, has committed these mistakes. Especially those who use and rely on the martingale strategy, where we expect to win after a long streak, but often, we run out of funds for betting before the desired victory occurs.

We also tend to make mistakes when we are not content with the small winnings we have achieved. At least, even if it's just a small amount, it should still be considered a profit. In our desire for significant gains, we forget to stick to the established plan and budget. We mistakenly believe that winning will continue, especially when the game becomes enjoyable.
Oo nga, swerte nga natin at may mga opportunities na dumating during the pandemic kahit papaano.

Sana ol malaki sahod kasi alam ko kapag IT related job minimum or above minimum yan depende sa qualification. Sa call center kaya ang more or less 60k a month diba? Or depende parin sa company? Sayang pagiging IT ko di ko nagamit kaya heto full time sa crypto tapos at the same time as volunteer na may konting incentives.
Bakit mo nasabing sayang pagiging IT mo kabayan? Or you mean as an employee o when it comes to technicality?
Grin
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 05, 2024, 11:59:22 PM
This is exciting, one of the dream matches. We will see an epic clash of style between devastating power and technical prowess. They are both pound-for-pound champions at the peak of their careers, making this a true clash of titans. Beterbiev's knockout power is legendary, while Bivol's technical skills are undeniable. Canelo's conqueror vs. the KO king? It's tough to call. Beterbiev's power is a threat to anyone, but Bivol's smarts and Canelo's win can't be ignored. I'm leaning towards Bivol by decision, but I wouldn't be surprised if Beterbiev lands a fight-ending punch.

316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 12:53:20 PM

How about you? Are you generous and if so, why are you generous?

In my case, I am a little generous because winning is a blessing that should be shared. However, I will not make people feel guilty when I give an amount from my blessing.
I may not be a heavy gambler, but I believe in the joy of giving when fortune smiles upon us. It's a wonderful feeling to share happiness and good fortune with friends and loved ones, without making them feel guilty about it. After all, generosity is a beautiful way to spread positivity and build stronger connections.

That's how I am, even though I haven't won big in gambling yet, I know how to share when I have something to share. I'm willing to share my winnings, it seems like I might need to try my luck in the lottery again, maybe I'll hit the jackpot out of a million chances.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 03, 2024, 12:09:58 PM
A few days ago, my friend luckily won a bet and have used the funds to open a business for his wife and himself
And that's where my question is coming from because for some, they're into gambling to make money, whereas some gamble for fun, but if luckily for you, and you have won a bet in the past, or luckily, you win a reasonable amount of money, did you achieve something with the money?/will you try to sort out some of those problems that lead you to go into gambling, like using it to establish a business, or did you lavished the money because it was unexpected free money?
-snip
I haven't won in gambling yet, unlike those who have won and used their winnings to start their businesses or buy expensive things. I don't gamble often, and when I do, it's only a small amount. So if ever I win, it's also a small amount and very rare. The winnings I have had might have just been used to add to grocery items and pay bills. Sometimes, there are moments when instead of withdrawing my winnings, I choose not to do so because I prefer to continue playing and increase the profit. Unfortunately, the opposite happens until everything is depleted.
318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 03, 2024, 03:32:21 AM
Scammers take advantage of unsuspecting individuals, especially newcomers just starting their crypto journey. I witnessed fake airdrops, impersonations, and fraudulent investment schemes there. Unfortunately, these scams often appear authentic, making it challenging for newcomers to distinguish between genuine opportunities and fraudulent activities. I have warned them and advising not to follow information on social media blindly and they should turn to reputable sources like here in this forum for education instead. This forum filters out misinformation and provides a safer learning and discussion space.
319  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning comes before earning on: February 03, 2024, 03:11:20 AM
I agree, focus on putting effort into learning and gaining knowledge and not rushing into the desire for quick gains or profits.
Trading is a gradual process that requires a solid foundation of understanding and skills, the temptation for fast money can often lead to mistakes and setbacks. It takes time to understand the market, and strategies and manage risk which are essential for long-term success.
320  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Help out Decentralized Gambling Research - Win $40 in BTC✨ on: February 03, 2024, 02:41:18 AM
This survey is anonymous, we don't look at individual responses but only look at the bigger picture how different datapoints influence each other. It is also possible to skip some of the questions.
I'm not an expert in decentralized gambling, but I'm a fan and interested in learning more. Perhaps you could offer some introductory resources or reading materials?

You can consider sharing the survey on other communities or platforms like Reddit forums (r/CryptoGambling) and social media groups like LinkedIn groups, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord, focused on blockchain and gambling. Another forum would be Altcointalks. The wider the reach, the more representative the data will be.

By the way, I have a few questions:
Is the survey available in multiple languages to reach a broader audience?
Can you elaborate on how the anonymized data will be used and analyzed in the research?
Has the study received ethical approval from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga?
