Each miner was connected with 1 Bitmain APW3++.
None of the PSU's were damaged. I have dissambled the hashboards 1 by 1 and in 2 hashboards while measuring the resistance and voltage, 2 chip's in each one don't have the values like the other ones. As for the other hashboards the chip's values seems to be ok, i am checking the other componments but no luck. As you said it is very difficult to find resources on Avalon miner repair, and I am relying only in my knowledge from S9 repair.

That's right, I checked at Zeus too and on the internet and couln't find any information for A841.

I have bought the bundle kit from Zeus for repairing Antminers but seems I can't use for Avalon. It is weird that no information is provided for these type of miners. Also here it's difficult to find someone who has information for these boards. Will contact Canaan to see if they could provide any information.

Meanwhile will try to figure out the how the signal works comparing the good and the broken one.

 Thanks guys anyway Smiley.

ZeusBTC doesn't have a guide for this unit and I can't find any hashboard diagram for Avalon 841.

Why not try to compare the two hashboard that you know working and the broken one?

I don't know what exactly this unit hashboard looks like but I think you can follow the tracks on that hashboard and compare the resistance between the good and bad hashboard.

Do you know HagssFIN, does Canaan has any instructions how to measure the Voltage or Resistance (and the references) of the chips( like in Antminers) to know if they are broken, or any other way to check the status of hashboard?

Now that I read all through again, it may be that the hash boards are all toasted
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 841 hashboards problem. on: December 28, 2021, 09:25:26 PM
Maybe I wasn't clear. I have aworking 841 left that it is hashing. This means that the PMU and the MM board works at the working one. I have putted the 12 hashboards of the 3 broken 841 in batches of two(hashboard #0 and hashboard #1) to the working one, leaving hashboard #2 and hashboard #3 in the working 841, and I get ECHU ( 131073 131073 0 0) which means the #0 and #1 hashboard doesnt work. And the unit hashing at around 7 Th/s.
(Will upload log as soon as I go to the farm).
Maybe the MM board is broken? Can you try with a surely working MM board?

How does the pmu voltage measurement values look like in the cgminer api log?

Can you post the log here? (please insert it inside code tags, it's the #-button in the message panel.)
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon 841 hashboards problem. on: December 28, 2021, 07:46:03 PM
I had 4 Avalon 841 in work, when a problem with electricity happened( I believe it came high voltage). 6 PMU boards were burned(3 Avalon 841), the last Avalon 841 didn't had any issue.

I bought 6 new PMU and changed them, neither one of 841 worked(all hashboards were showing code 131073)
I thought maybe the new PMU were broken, so I putted the hashboards to the working 841 one by one and none worked.

Can it be that the electricity problem burned all 6 hashboards at the same time?

Is there any other way to check the hashboard health like measuring the voltage or resistance like in Antminer?

Any help is appreciated.

The miner was working before. I dont know what happened but the PMU got burned. Bought new PMU and this happened. Tried a working control board and it happends again. Tried to power on the hashboard 1 by 1 and it happens again.
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 841 won't start on! on: December 04, 2021, 07:08:48 PM
I have tried with a working MM board from a good known 841 and still the same thing. Maybe it can be a faulty hashboard, but why doesnt the other hashboards work? I think it is uncomon that all the 4 hashboards are faulty, what do you think?
Hi,
it gives you the ECHU code 131073 in the cgminer API log.
I have explained that particular code here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5325107.msg57013711#msg57013711

It's usually a sign for a faulty hash board.

But if you are sure the hash boards SHOULD be ok,
it can also be a faulty MM board (control board).

Do you have another MM board to try with this unit?

When I turn it on the PMU lights stay on for 20 seconds and then the lights goes off. It says 0 ghs.

Recently I changed both PMU boards. I don't believe that all 4 hash boards are burned in a day.

The AUC3 converter and the controller work because I have another avalon 841 and it works.

If someone has any experience would be kind to share it.

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need help for Immersion Cooling project! on: April 25, 2021, 08:41:22 AM
Boards and circuitry will be fine. That fluid has been used used in many makes of solid-state HV power supplies for decades and I've never seen any issues from using it.

20-25C will actually probably be too cold and the miners will not be happy until the chips get warmer. Again, you will want to look at reported chip temps - not the 'air' temp in and out. With immersion cooling the chips run much closer to fluid temp because heat transfer between the chips and fluid is much higher as opposed to air cooling where chip temps are much higher than the cooling air.
So you suggest that the input fluid should be around 50 Celcius Degree?  Do you have any clue that how fast can the miners heat the liquid up to let's say 80 Degree?
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need help for Immersion Cooling project! on: April 24, 2021, 11:27:12 PM
That should be a perfect choice and in fact is one that I've recommended in the several existing threads here that deal with immersion cooling. It has 2 primary advantages over mineral oil:
 1) It does not attack plastics or epoxies - only warning is to NOT use any kind of silicone glue or sealant as it WILL attack them and turn them into a crumbly mass of rubber.
 2) It is a fairly thin fluid meaning it pumps and flows very well.

Don't know what temperatures you used to calculate the dry cooler capacity being able to handle 100kw but it may be able to handle more power. Of course it depends on what your highest outside air temp can be but on the miner side, something most folks forget to account for is that miners like a VERY warm chip temperature. As in around 70-degC or more. That translates into you being able to run with rather high oil temp, you probably find that a fluid temp of 50C will work perfect.

Thank you for the information, frankly I was afraid to use it since the transformers has more 'not so delicate' components and I thought it will calcify the hash boards.

Here in Albania the temperature can go up to 38 Celcius Degree in August. I think that the DryCooler can handle more than 45 S9, I think around 75-80 pieces.

Edit: My first plan it was that the cooled liquid to go in the tank at around 20-25 Celcius.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Need help for Immersion Cooling project! on: April 24, 2021, 09:57:32 PM
Hi to all,

I am starting an experimental project done by myself to cool 45 Antminer S9's through Immersion Cooling. I have created the tank, bought a DryCooler 100KW together with the Heat Exchanger and have connected to the tank.

Now the problem is at the liquid. Based in my calcuation regarding to flow and the liquid needed for miner I need around 600 liters of liquid.

I have found a liquid used in transformers with the price of 1.5 USD for liter(far cheaper than the companies that sell online liquid cooling) named STO-50 SILICONE TRANSFORMER OIL  which is made 100% Polydimethylsiloxane silicone oil with a viscosity of 50cSt (centistoke) @ 25°C. More Specs can be found at http://www.clearcoproducts.com/silicone_transformer_oil.html

Does anyone has information if it can be used as a coolant for ASICS?

The registration number matches at the estonian companies database with the name Marek Pilveste. It is the same owner for the AsicEurope also for BMK Group. BMK group is registred since 2019 and pays all the tax and has all the financials statments revealed.
Here is the link that provides that the two companies are under the same name.
https://imgur.com/a/KhCoYj4

It's very likely they leave this "company". there have no submitted a tax declaration. The deadline is 22.Feb. 2021, it's still unsolved. somehow everything coincides with the date of registration of the new company asiceurope.

Also, they ended 2020 without employees. to be honest, to me, this looks like an exit scam.

Yes but the menagment board is still avaible and is made only from one person which is Marek Pilveste. I have found his ID number because it is showed and asked the police now for verification and waiting for their response.
