well the most possible future news for YACoin would be "Yacoin now minable via GPU", which would crash the price I guess.

1) a 4 hour time window is not an accurate starting time 2) this better have a higher starting difficulty or grumpycat.jpg 3) no info about premining suggests this is heavily premined 4) try to not completely ruin the launch like the last few

with altcoins dying faster and faster, this would be a new speed record.

At this point it depends highly on your electricity cost. Keep in mind that coins can go to zero over night, whereas your mining hardware will not become completely worthless unless you burn it. Far from completely worthless, actually.
I also found that having a slow and steady stream of coins coming from the miner is much better for my psyche than trading coins and looking at charts all the time. But that is personal preference.

link? they all look different on google results. is $360 even cheap? treat yourself to a Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD and get 3 fans for less money, flash on that '43 BIOS and go up to 660 kh/s at 1087 voltage or something.
I was considering that, but, my current XFX 7950 DD, won't go above 500 KH/s. If I try to overclock, even a little, the driver crashes. well that one is probably bad luck - or needs another BIOS or whatever. You have probably already tried all permutations of drivers, SDKs, thread concurrencies etc. My 7950s also didn't turn out that great (Sapphire OC), but at least the undervolting works decent and they are efficient enough. If I would buy 7950s again I would go for the ones posted above. I heard they are much cooler and once you flash the BIOS you can undervolt them and easily push them to 660 kh/s without lots of tuning. Also, who knows what hassle that 7970 can give you. It seems to be rather rare and you won't find lots of mining support for it. You could just buy it and send it back if hashrate and undervolting do not suit you? That's what I would probably do if I was you

shht, you got it wrong, you are supposed to do this and not announce it and not the other way around.

Well, GeistGeld windows binaries have disappeared from the internet and mediafire, and building the linux source has given me all kinds of possible errors, most of which I could find posted on this forum but were never resolved. So most likely my cpus will have to stay above radar and torture themselves with yac D:

I also wonder why linux is supposedly better. Undervolting won't work there for my cards. And setting up the miner on another LAN linux computer probably won't help and only introduce more ping. Dammit Windows.

any windows miner not getting 100% orphans?
|
|
|
and i thought it couldn' possibly get worse than chinacoin
|

if they are accepted, they will still be 100% orphans. somebody must be raking them in with amazing latency.
Is it really about latency? Or is it about people who know enough code to make cgminer poll every 5 milliseconds to 127.0.01? Sure wish someone would post a modified cgminer that could do that! yeah, that's probably it. mining since page 1 and 0% accepted, thousands of "accepted" in the miner, hundreds of grey orphans in the client, tens of thousands of rejects. Fun!

Scrypt, SHA or what?
this. im running --scrypt Same here but I get 100% rejected anyone else? Link your cgminer conf if you get accepted please. if they are accepted, they will still be 100% orphans. somebody must be raking them in with amazing latency.

this seems to be the new announcement that people make to get prices up before they dump their stuff, now that "pump and dump" announcements lost lots of believers.
