I see bitcoin finding itself up against much more competition, hopefully addressing any flaws bitcoin currently has. I doubt all fiat would collapse in 5 years, but perhaps bitcoin would be a more viable option for many more people than today as fiat severely drops in purchasing power
I'd say you could do any of two things: 1: Buy up a bunch of BTC now and invest in assets that generate dividends, like on bitfunder.com 2: Participate in a bit of arbitrage; I saw 1BTC on btc-e.com go for $39 at one point and 1BTC on mtgox go for well over $40, so for a while you could take advantage of that. Its a lot more risky but seems viable for now at least
