101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Internet usage budget on: November 26, 2017, 01:34:40 PM
I think this depends on the size of the network as well as the size of the block you are mining. Take a look at the blockchain and see the size of the blocks. You should be able to work it out then with a difficulty calculator and the size of each block.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BCH BTC mining profitability on: November 26, 2017, 01:32:20 PM
It would be more profitable due to it being a new alt coin which has a much less difficulty rating which means that people can mine more with lesser equipment. Bitcoin requires a rather large investment to start mining.
103  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cheapest transaction fees? on: November 26, 2017, 01:31:05 PM
I'm not sure how they offer free transaction fees unless it's covered in their fee that they take off of you for exchanging. I would recommend not going for the smallest fees though as they are normally a worse service. Coinbase may have large fees but they are very well known and trusted.
104  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it possible to use bitcoin without photo ID? on: November 23, 2017, 06:21:09 PM
You can always trade via face to face via localbitcoins or craigslist. Yeah it's risky but its the only way. Any exchange that is offering you to convert bitcoin without asking for identification is breaking the law.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Japan ban ICOs? on: November 05, 2017, 12:45:25 PM
Unpredictable at the moment to know exactly which countries are banning them I would convert them to Bitcoin just to be sure.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 05, 2017, 11:10:34 AM
I think holding Bitcoin is the opposite to greedy you are happy with the amount you have and are holding for a higher price where as trading your looking for more.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: China to allow ICOs again on: October 30, 2017, 02:32:36 PM
I think right now there are many rumors about Bitcoin banning in China. Nothing is predictable because many people start speculating a lot of rumors through their twitter but there is no specific reason behind banning.

Bitcoin is banned now in China. All the exchanges are closed.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Ethereum Is Not a Bubble on: October 07, 2017, 04:31:38 PM
Because users are very large and most are developers who need ethereum to develop their projects. this is different from other coins that can easily be speculated.

that is right. ETH has very large user base.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: China to allow ICOs again on: September 08, 2017, 05:13:52 PM
Yes the ban was just temporary.
Thankfully because China is a big actor in cryptocurrency. A permaban would have a big incidence on the market.

It is difficult to say. Today's price has dropped a lot due to a possibility of total ban in China.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: June 18, 2017, 07:30:35 PM
ether soaring so high that it may over take bitcoin in months. i wouldn't be surprise if this happen this year. the domination battle always end up on platforms like eth and waves. there are some on top but hasn't really made their development as fast as these two. waiting for NEM to do some initiative.

At the current rising rate, the ETH will be larger than bitcoin soon.

In market cap maybe, but in price not in the near future for sure. Even with bigger market cap, ether would not take bitcoin's first place for adoption and using.

Bitcoin adoption and growth is also stunted, companies are leaving for ETH, new users are getting annoyed at slow and expensive transactions. This thread has many pages from the first big ETH pump prior even to the DAO and we've been saying the same things. Granted Bitcoin kept rising but it just can't keep up right now unless something dramatically changes.

I don't think Bitcoin will die or anything, it will just be another option among many. It already is, preferred by idealists, anarchists, etc that basically took it hostage.

I think the reason for people to use the ETH is that the bitcoin is too slow and expensive to send.

I agree with that. The transaction confirmation of ETH is much faster than bitcoin.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar price speculation on: April 17, 2017, 04:57:51 PM
stellar need news and need develop
although volume transaction high, stellar coin price still low with range only 200 - 400 satoshi/stellar coin

Could there be a pump coming?
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 11, 2017, 03:53:24 PM
Since bitcoin seems to still be the coin to hold, then there is not much of a reason to move bitcoin to any other crypto, bitcoin is the only one of all the cryptos to offer some kind of store of value, while some  altcoins could offer new and more advanced characteristics the right choice is to store bitcoin long term.

I think it is better to hold majority of the asset in bitcoin, the other altcoins a small percentage.
113  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-02-23]Bitcoin’s Transaction Backlog Hits All-Time High on: February 23, 2017, 07:21:43 AM
Did not see anything of this 6 confirmations  in 1 hour!
Just add required fees!
Going  short in a hard limited (21 000000 btc ever) market is stupid and only could works by spreading this kind  fake news.

The block size has to be increased.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: January 03, 2017, 10:14:11 AM
That is true for bitcoin, but not for Etheruem at present.

Eth is on the opposite trajectory. 600k would be my next idea for support.

the price is still over 800k.

I think this is a lesson for everyone, take profits be it on ETH or BTC when you can. Right now BTC is rallying and ETH is suffering, I can't believe how much ETH you can get in terms of BTC and it can even become cheaper (although there are some signals of a reversal coming already).

BTC may touch 1k but I doubt it could sustain the price for long, you know when people start saying things like BTC at 40k by 2018 you need to start thinking about selling some and wait for a pullback. If you can't buy the dip after selling the spikes because that price is gone, well you made some profit Wink

I feel both blockchains will be the stars of the new industry if blockchain ever catches on, they complement each other perfectly, one is conservative and the other one is innovative. In the meantime if we time it right we can increase our shares in both.

When the bitcoin stops rallying, it is the ETH's term to rise.

That is right. The Etheruem price is higher now.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: December 05, 2016, 10:12:38 AM
ETH is already recovering a little bit, I think you could've bought that red line to 950k,...I admit I picked some, to me that's the trendline before the Dao and I couldn't help myself. Like many we are all waiting to get ETH at $3-5. I suspect we will never see that, not even in a flash crash but stranger things have happened.
I thought it recovered but price is now back to below $8- even despite small upward trend we noticed today.
What is happening is people selling ETH to buy bitcoin because of the news about China and India is banning gold trading/export.

I think the price will only recover when there is no more attack on the Ethereum network when it become very robust.
But it may take a lot of the time, no one knew when the upcoming fork for the ethereum network.

that is right. But if there is another big attack on the Ethereum network, there will be another hard fork.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: November 08, 2016, 06:54:28 PM
Finally, so much later after all the slock it nonsense, Ethereum is behaving validly to me. They are sitting down and making solid development progress with core functionality and stability, rather than an overt cash grab. And the price (and it's relative stability) reflects that.

You could be right. There is active developments about the Ethereum itself. It responds to attacks very quickly.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Your Zcash mining cost? on: November 03, 2016, 09:38:45 PM
My mining cost is the only electricity cost. I have already made return of investment of the miners.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: October 16, 2016, 08:02:59 AM
I only hold eth till it hit .021+ then I dump and re-rinse.

The price is 0.0216 at the moment. Do you have no ETH at the moment. Do you think it will drop further?

The price has dropped to 0.0195 range in the last few days. There is possiblity that it will drop further.

The price is about 0.0185 now, it has been there for some time. It might be consolidating at the moment.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: September 28, 2016, 08:22:41 AM
I don't know the altcoin market as much as you guys but I keep following btc and altcoins from coincap.io and ETH market cap is rising everyday. So, it's always better strategy invest a little to ETH and forget it. Who knows maybe one day, 1 ETH will worth $600 too Grin

The Ehtereum price just dropped about 6% in the last 24 hours. That is due to the finish of the meeting in China.

I think the Ethereum price is consolidating at the moment. After some consolidation, the price will rise again.
I have seen it many times my brother, based on my observation in the past, when the price hits the top and it will start to fall back, the price fall back are normally continues until it reaches to the level of 0.018, I just hope I am wrong this time.

I think the Etehreum price is consolidating at the moment. I think it will rise to 0.025 in the next few months.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: September 14, 2016, 04:56:53 PM
To me it looks like a clear accumulation phase
It's more like a "let's buy as much as we can without alerting the market" phase.
The positive news have been piling up for a while now
and the sold out devcon2 is closing in.
The trend won't stay under the radar for much longer...

I have been hearing about this for as long as I can remember and nothing ever happens when I hear it except in the histories.

I hope it finally start moving up so we can join in the pump and dump and make some profit from the pump which I doubt can happen as big as any time before because ethereum is not like before anymore.

The price of Etheruem might move up a lot during the Etheruem converence in China. But it is not for sure.
