1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: newcryptocasinos.com - Our channel at BitcoinTalk.org on: November 29, 2018, 02:45:49 PM
The only casino that I'm familiar with on your site is Crypto Slots. I have nothing but good things to say about the company behind it.

Yes they are one of our favorites, mBitcasino is another one if you like slots. we just added YouWager, really cool casino if you like variatiions of games, since they got Poker. Sports, Casino, HorseRacing.

Stay away from Youwager.  They are under new management and are currently stiffing and slow paying multiple winners.  So far 3 people have come forward saying Youwager ignored their own 2 factor authorization rules and sent the BTC to different addresses then the customers instructed.  We are talking thousands of dollars.  And a 4th victim is having his $77,000 account balance stolen for "bot" play although the only evidence shows no bot use.

This used to be a good book.  New ownership took it over and now appears bust.

I would advise withdrawing all of your coins stored on Nitro ASAP. There is a fork coming tomorrow. It's a segwit2x fork to make transactions faster and cheaper and will probably be pretty popular.

I can tell you from bitter experience that they will delay a withdrawal request for about 24 hours if a fork snapshot is coming. I would not wait if you want your segwit2x btc coins.
Thanks for the advise, but I don't think they'll have any plans on disabling/delaying their withdrawals unless they put up an announcement and there was no complaints about withdrawing when the second fork happened. From my experience after the changes in their fees the withdrawals are a lot faster than it used to be. If there was a delay in withdrawals it's because of the amount of requests they receive in a short amount of time.

I tried to withdraw coins 16 hours prior to the bitcoin gold snapshot and it didn't go through until 24 hours later.  I would not recommend waiting but it's up to you.  It's just a snapshot which is occurring tomorrow, not a hard fork, so there is no reason that withdrawals should be an issue.

The point is, if you want to get your BT2X coins, withdraw your BTC from Nitrogensports.eu ASAP
3  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fork coming tomorrow, I would withdraw all of your coins from Nitro ASAP on: December 28, 2017, 02:07:00 AM
i think it is normal to hold any withdrawal transaction from any trading and online gambling site when any bitcoin fork is going to launch, this is security purposes and to prevent any transaction failure and losses.

It's only a snapshot that is happening tomorrow, not a hard fork.

Hurry up and withdraw your coins.  Do not let them bullshit you.
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fork coming tomorrow, I would withdraw all of your coins from Nitro ASAP on: December 28, 2017, 02:06:22 AM
Unless Nitrogen is not going to issue you the segwit2x coins, there is really no point in withdrawing.

They are not going to issue the segwit2x coins, thus the post.

Just to inform you, even exchanges disable withdrawal and deposit of bitcoins 24hrs (or even 48hrs) before a fork happens. It's a normal procedure for them to be able to access how much of the altcoin they are going to give out to each user. I do think it is fairly reasonable to do so as it prevents the possibility of over sending the newly created coin.

Which exchanges have disabled withdrawals???  I've heard of such in the past but I think we're over that at this point.  BTW, this is a snapshot that is scheduled to occur, not yet a hard fork.

I was able to withdraw from Nitro no problem FWIW.  Back when the bitcoin gold snapshot was happening, I tried to withdraw my coins 16 hours before but unfortunately they held my coins for 24 hours.  They didn't say it was because a fork was coming, they said it was because it was a large withdrawal and that new procedures meant that large withdrawals would routinely take 24-48 hours going forward.
5  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fork coming tomorrow, I would withdraw all of your coins from Nitro ASAP on: December 28, 2017, 02:02:03 AM
Why do you mention Nitrogensports only? I guess 99% of bitcoin gambling websites will not give anything after the segwit2x hardfork.

Yes, if you want the forked coins, you should withdraw from any site that will not issue them.  Personally I only have coins on Nitro and I have been burned by Nitro twice before on this so that's why I thought of them and wanted to warn people.  I think your 99% estimate is a bit overboard.  I know Fairlay and SWC Poker paid out bitcoin cash to their customers so it's far from unheard of.  Nitrogen is probably the most popular BTC gambling site so it's something I would expect from them considering smaller shops were able to do it.

to be clear, I am talking about Nitrogensports.eu

Here's a discussion of Nitrogen and their behavior with regards to bitcoincash, which is trading for around $3,000 per coin:

There's also been discussion here in this forum on Nitrogen's dedicated thread but it's been more sporadic.

The resulting coin is already trading north of $1,000.

These are futures, the snapshot has not been taken yet so of course no coins have been issued. Also, it appears the developers of B2X plan to not issue the B2X that is associated with Satoshi's known address ("he" has huge holdings) and will instead issue those coins to B2X users.

Nitro will not give you these coins and will try and delay your withdrawal as well.

I agree something absolutely needs to be said by nitrogen about bitcoin cash. It has been months since last thry spoke about it. Sooo

Nitrogen, what is up with OUR forked coins?

Hi Layla99,

Nitrogen Sports wants its players to know that when Nitrogen decides to integrate BCH, balances at the time of the fork will be honored in full. We are currently evaluating the timeline for integration and will issue an official statement once a development is available on that front. Thank you very much.

- Mayce

That's nice to hear, although more specifics regarding approximate timelines would be nice.  Thank you.

Please answer the following question:

Do you sequester 100% of customer funds?  If so, do you keep it all in Bitcoin at all times?

With the recent huge runup in the BTC price, I am worried that any site that doesn't both sequester customer funds and keep them 100% denominated in BTC is insolvent.

Hi KGambler,

Our internal payout policies are structured to minimize player payout risk, and it of course accounts for movement in the price of BTC.

We've been around since 2012, which is like centuries in Bitcoin-time. We've never had an issue with payouts, and will continue to lead the way as one of the world's top crypto-only books.

Thanks,

- Mayce

Yikes.

That's a terrible answer but at least you guys are honest.  If you spent or converted to fiat any significant portion of your clients' BTC, you cannot be solvent.  The math is simple.  BTC is up 50 fold this calendar year.  It's like trying to run a book where your clients deposit and withdraw in USD but you convert the USD you hold to Venezuelan Bolivars for your own usage.

Can you please confirm that customer funds are 100% sequestered and that they have been kept in BTC at all times?

Does this coin have a wallet that will run on a PC?  Or just phone and online wallets?

Hi all,

We know there have been questions regarding what Nitrogen plans to do about Bitcoin Cash. We have just completed a statement on how we plan to proceed.

https://nitrogensports.eu/blog/nitrogen-and-bitcoin-cash/

---

To our current and future players,

Many of you are aware that the Bitcoin network forked on August 1st, 2017. As a result, a new coin was created which became known as ‘Bitcoin Cash’, or BCH for short. To prepare for the fork, Nitrogen Sports temporarily paused all withdrawals and deposits for a time before and after the fork.

Since August 1st, some players have asked specific questions regarding Nitrogen’s plans for BCH. This statement is meant to help clarify where Nitrogen stands on the issue and what our players can expect in the months ahead.

First, Nitrogen Sports does not immediately intend to support Bitcoin Cash. The decision was made after careful consideration about the environment in which the fork happened, and the less-than clear path to Bitcoin-scale adoption that BCH faces in the months ahead. Our position on BCH also means that Nitrogen will not immediately optimize, transfer or benefit from any BCH that became theoretically available to account balances at the time of the fork.

That being said, Nitrogen took the initiative to log a static record of each and every account balance after deposits and withdraws were paused on August 1st. This information is important in the event that Nitrogen integrates BCH. We want our players to know that when Nitrogen decides to integrate BCH, balances at the time of the fork will be honoured in full. We are currently evaluating the timeline for integration.

We are able to stand by our statement because of the measures we took before and during the fork to inform and protect our players.

Before the fork, we provided sufficient notice that withdrawals would be paused. This should have given each player the appropriate time to move their funds off-platform and into whichever storage solution they deemed appropriate. And as mentioned, during the fork, Nitrogen logged a static record of all balances, taking extra care to plan for any eventuality.

Forks happen from time-to-time on the Bitcoin network. Nitrogen’s specific concern will always focus on account security first, before hype and speculation surrounding newly introduced features or ‘alt-coins’. We feel this is the best way to protect our players’ best interests.

Thank you for your patience regarding this matter.

Nitrogen Sports.

Is there any update on the "timeline for integration"?  Is this currently being worked on?  Seriously discussed?  Thank you.

Any news on supporting bitcoin cash in the near future?  It has quite a big market cap now.

I would argue that the Bitcoin Cash trading is heavily manipulated, which leads to an artificially
high market cap.

If you take a look at the biggest exchanges by volume you will see that 41.24%
of trading volume has taken place at Bithumb (Korean exchange) in the last 24 hours.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets

Bithumb has been known to provide zero fee vouchers for certain users (it is actually
even possible to buy them). If you have one of these you can essentially wash trade all day long
by buying and selling into your own orders. By doing this you can lead people to believe that
a rally is completely genuine while it is actually completely artificial and wouldn´t have happened
without your wash trading activity.

Nevertheless, I concede that it may be too early to write off Bitcoin Cash completely. The monthly
charts actually look quite healthy and show a steady rise and with Segwit2x being practically dead some
miners may shift their support to Bitcoin Cash if it continues to be profitable to mine.

You bring up good points.  The price is probably artificially high.  I also think the float is a lot smaller than bitcoin's actual float, so the market cap is overstated in that respect as well.

That being said, with segwit2x dead, this seems to be the new "it" coin for big blockers.  Even if the actual market cap can be considered a fragment of what is being shown now, it's still big.  At this point, months later, there is really no reason for nitro to not expend the effort to get "our" coins.  I think it would be great marketing for them and I would not mind in the least if they put a wagering requirement that must be fulfilled before withdrawing them.  I understand they would have to expend some resources to retrieve the coins.  Even if they outright took a cut, that would be fine.  At this point, with BCH trading well north of $1K, just get the coins.  It's a whole lot of money.

Thanks for the help guys.

Just so I am sure I understand correctly, there is no ONE address for a bitcoin core wallet, right?  It is all of the receiving addresses we are talking about?  Or is there one address?

Which wallet are you talking about?

Bitcoin Core has a tab at the top for "Transactions".

You can click that and see all the transactions that have ever been sent FROM or TO that wallet.

At the bottom is a button that says "Export". If you click that button, you can save the entire list of transactions.  You can then open that file with any spreadsheet program, and (with a tiny bit maths that most 11 year olds are capable of) can calculate your balance for any point in time.

Thank you!  Didn't realize there was a way to export that  Grin

Thank you to all who replied, I learned a few things.

UPDATE:  Problem solved.

Do I have to check each receiving address individually and add the total?  Is there a website or a script where I can just paste them all in and it adds it up?  I have dozens of receiving addresses.  Or is there a different address to check?
