Good follow up! Jared, can you update the page that Cryptsy has the new wallet as well?

Will do! Thanks for checking on this 24hr!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Congratulations Scammers, you've killed the altcoin market on: August 19, 2014, 01:25:27 AM
Things really have slowed to a halt. But this is good, I could use a break before the next bull run Smiley
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I hope the price sinks on: August 19, 2014, 01:22:42 AM
Now is an excellent time to buy.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: August 19, 2014, 01:21:45 AM
is 145000 block to long Huh

for now . less 50 block one day ..

and the last block is 141879..

 almost need 60+days ...

 i wish i'm wrong with it ..
Once we have confirmed all pools, exchanges & block explorers that still want to be part of the DigiByte ecosystem have updated we will rent an ASIC & start a campaign to get everyone to throw their hash at Scrypt to push it over the change.

We still have several exchanges/ pools and users who need to update their wallet. We will give everyone another week at least.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Which Alt Coin will see the most growth in 2014? on: August 19, 2014, 01:18:34 AM
Very interesting to take a look back at this poll. Things have really changed in the last 9 months.

Being worked on as we speak. No need to download as once we upload to play store it will automatically prompt the update on smart phones. IOS wallet in development. Possible release in a couple weeks.

Thank You for your reply Jared. I trust your hard work and your team and I have invested good amount of money into digibyte and I am holding it...for long term since its launch...
I support Digibyte!!!
Digibyte will touch the sky soon I hope...
No problem! Thanks for supporting DigiByte!

Is the "dirty" a final version?
Version 3.0.1 is a final version. Not sure how "dirty" was compiled into the name there?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Still's Bitcoin Documentary on: June 15, 2014, 05:15:55 PM
Bill Still is a leading authority and researcher on alternative currencies and the history of money. He has produced several award winning documentares including:

The Money Masters (1996):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfpO-WBz_mw

The Secret of Oz (2010):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swkq2E8mswI
While he helped bring more attention to alt coins he also had no real understanding of what he was promoting. Many people got burned with the Quark pump.

Hopefully he gives an accurate, fair and informed presentation in his documentary.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 15, 2014, 05:10:54 PM
I think six months from now LTC will be surpassed by another alt in the #2 position, but LTC will not fade away to nothing by any means.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ DigiShield ✔ v2.9.1 ✔ Multi-Algo mining coming soon! on: June 15, 2014, 05:08:30 PM
I think folks are starting to realize that even with change, DGB is focused and dedicated to the main vision of making this the top alt! I believe we are close and the next 60 days could be ground breaking!

YC
Absolutely! We are getting very close to a break out in the next couple months. Lets get through this next hard fork and on to bigger and better things!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - Officially Launched! on: June 15, 2014, 05:07:04 PM
Glad to see you guys have launched! Good luck with everything!
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ Raising funds to help victims of the WA mud slide! on: March 30, 2014, 01:35:41 AM
Sorry to those friends who lost loved ones, I will continue to pay attention to the news, and their news. Try your best to help them.

Thank you, just got of the phone with my closest cousin who is like a brother to me. His wife is from Darrington and she is in charge of taking donations for the community. She just put me in touch with a couple local Bitcoin enthusiast who are working on getting donation addresses set up.

I will post more as I find out.

They described a very bad scene were they are still pulling bodies out and 90+ people are still un accounted for.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GoldCoin (GLD) Revive??? on: March 28, 2014, 09:10:59 PM
GoldCoin had a shakey start but was entirely revived and rebuilt by a dedicated team. Its a shame we cannot move past this and build on the good community that GoldCoin has now.
MicroGuy Pump Account #3?

What community? The community where MicroGuy censors & deletes your posts if you disagree with him even slightly? The main GoldCoin thread would probably be over 100 pages now if he didn't delete every other post.

There are a few coins I really detest. GoldCoin is the main one. It's like herpes, you just can't get rid of it.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] CasinoCoin - The Premiere Coin for Casino Gaming | Kimoto Enabled! on: March 28, 2014, 09:02:08 PM
Yes, we helped them implement it. You can see the difference here with this chart: http://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/dogecoin-difficulty-chart

Or with DigiByte: http://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/digibyte-difficulty-chart

You can see where we got hit hard with one massive multi-pool spike but we returned to normal almost right away.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ 1st Scrypt Coin to Implement Bitcoin Core 0.9.0 on: March 28, 2014, 08:51:14 PM
In the end we definitely do not want hashing power to become centralized & we like the idea that anyone should be able to mine DigiByte with very little associated costs.

The question is in the future how many people are actually going to be mining when we achieve main stream adoption? Maybe 5% of users a year from now? What are your thoughts?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] CasinoCoin - The Premiere Coin for Casino Gaming | Kimoto Enabled! on: March 28, 2014, 08:47:58 PM
What happened with CSC is that several multipools jumped on it together which unfortunately drove the difficulty to 44
You may want to tweak your KGW settings a little to prevent that from happening.
Thanks for the insight, will send transcoder a message to have it taken care of.

Have been a long time supporter of CasinoCoin & I think it is a great niche coin. If you ever think of using DigiShield to keep this from happening don't hesitate to ask.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - Official Launch May 1, 2014 - [IPCO] Escrow on: March 28, 2014, 08:35:29 PM
Can you explain more about this:
Quote
10% (50,000,000) of the coins are premined and allocated directly to the initial IPCO Fundraising Campaign contributors.
What are you planning to do with the IPCO exactly? Development? Advertising? Any sort of roadmap yet?

I can see you have attracted a lot of attention outside of BitcoinTalk and I can see this being picked up rapidly by 2nd Amendment supporters. I myself firmly stand by my right to keep & bears arms and feel it is being infringed upon right now in many places in America.

But at the same time I can see this attracting a lot of negative attention from the feds. What exactly are you trying to accomplish with this coin?

The IPCO is being used for quite a few different things.  The $USD Fundraiser that we had originally run (expires in 6 days) has been spent on advertising as fast as it has came in.

The Core Team has already spent a lot of money out of our pockets on initial development, servers, hosting, domains, advertising, web design and more.  Some of the IPCO will be used to counter those personal costs.

Remaining IPCO will be used for further development and customizations and potentially more advertising.

Regarding negative attention from feds, we are not worried about that at all.  We are not offering anything outside of the law here and I believe the feds will see that for what it is.  In fact, we have had some very vocal law enforcement (and retired law enforcement) supporters already.  We are trying to accomplish two goals with Guncoin:  First, we are getting people interested in Cryptocurrency who are not already interested in Bitcoin and know nothing about it.  You can look at our facebook and twitter pages to see the expansive demographic of people interested already.  Secondly, and most importantly, we want people to use Guncoin for their transactions.  It really is a nightmare processing transactions for online firearms-related purchases right now.  PayPal is completely anti-gun and most transactions are currently done with cashiers checks, which in turn makes the transaction process take way longer than needed.
Thank you for the response! I definitely know what its like to spend money out of pocket to launch a coin, not to mention the time you spend.

I definitely see the potential this has to bring attention to crypto currencies from outside the existing community. This is definitely a great niche for a coin. The more I think about it the more I see your point. As long as someone who is selling has an FFL and abides by existing laws there should be no issues.

Very interesting approach to announce a launch so far ahead of time. But I can also see the news of this spreading rapidly. I wonder what the NRA's response would be to this? Have your tried contacting them yet?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ 1st Alt Coin to Implement Bitcoin Core 0.9.0 ✔ on: March 28, 2014, 08:08:12 PM
I have held digibyte for a long time.
It is time to switch to x11 and be a leading alt, not a follower.
We are not completely sure the X11 algorithm is the best one to use right now. The fact that GPU's run cooler on it does not mean it is more efficient by any means.

I wont get into the debate , of what algo better or not, I like X11,  however, anytime electricity is used in a circuit, and the result is heat, that is inefficiency unless the wanted end product is heat. How a coin is coded to handle say 'X11' is a product of the coin, not the algo. Having run X11 on a different coin for a day or so, I can hands down say, that its incredibly efficient. Now if its being 'tweaked' code side to produce better results with said efficiency, then that would be good, if everyone has access to this. It also could be speculation and FUD. I dont know.. and to be honest, eventually IF there is better coded miners out there, I would hope we'll all have access eventually.

A few things to remember, is that when anything new comes out, in any field , there will be pro's & con's, aswell as much speculation and misinformation from the people whom have the most to lose.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_efficiency

Lets not confuse, mix, and twist facts vs. speculation. My only argument here is that in an electrical circuit, Heat = Inefficiency

Much agreed. You bring up some very valid points. And we are speculating that the mining software will be improved as time goes on for X11.

Since we are not the 1st coin to switch algos in a hard fork or the 1st to implement X11 we see no reason to rush into it. We still have 2-3 months before this could become an issue.

Also, there still are several arguments as to how ASICS could actually help DigiByte grow in the long run. We are not saying we agree with this, but there are some valid points to consider. Such as. if someone spends $10,000 on a Scrypt ASIC the only thing it is good for is mining Scrypt coins. So people will be mining Scrypt based coins well into the future with them. Also, the more invested someone becomes in a coin after spending that much money, the more they will want it to succeed.

A majority, but not all GPU miners tend to be a migratory crowd moving from the most profitable coin to the next coin with the newest features with the hopes of it becoming the next most profitable coin to mine. This is not a bad thing, but it is not good for the long term survival of any particular coin with an algo dominated by GPU miners.

Also, a lot of GPU miners tend to be very short term oriented and less likely to mine coins because they believe in them and want to support them long term.

Ideally, if we do switch algos we would like to make it something Unique to DigiByte that will help make us stand out. Much like DigiShield. This takes time and we definitely want to test it out.

We are researching many different algos at the moment including ones never before put into a crypto. This is a very broad and technically challenging are of study so it will take some time.

Still, if anyone has any further suggestions we are very open to hearing them. Thanks again for the feedback!

+1

Very solid, well written argument. The idea behind Aurora is brilliant but I still have yet to see any proof this "airdrop" is being carried out honestly. No one seems to know how it is working or who is behind it. Is transparency really to much to ask for?
