More than a month wtf... If he doesn't have the time to maintain the site why not pass more privileges to trusted administrators? Just be patient, there are others who have been waiting for more than a month to recover their account. Why is it that support is so horrible on bitcointalk do they not have enough funding to maintain or?

I am not sure, still working on getting in my other blockchain wallet. I think that BTC addy may have been on a machine I destroyed at the shooting range lol. The FTC Addy I think was from my BTC-E account and i'm not sure how I would prove ownership.. woooh! Good news I found 9.89 LTC in my old BTC-E account so I have enough to buy my account back now. I think I also maybe able to find one of the old FTC or BTC addy's I'v used on the forum! I am working on recovering my passwords to by old blockchain wallets and looking for my old Armory back up, i'm getting close I think I've already posted this but I'm assuming you no longer have access to the address you used to receive BTC from JohnK in 2013? |

Honestly, I don't think its as cut and dry as he just bought a account.. I think this whole shenanigans runs a bit deeper than that. Even if Theymos doesn't get back with me I'm cool. I just wish he would look into it a little deeper and post his findings.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I hope you realize that it's nothing personal, I'm not saying you did anything wrong and I got nothing against you. It's just that as far as I'm concerned he's as much of a victim in this as you are. All he has done is buy an account from the marketplace and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, it is not prohibited here on the forum. It doesn't even matter what he plans to do with the account. If buying/selling accounts was not allowed, I would totally be siding with you just so you know. |

Hes still asking 0.075 for my account he wont take 50% so there is going to be no deal. If Theymos doesn't return my account he should at the least destroy it, so no one else gets facked....
As much as theymos would love to restore this account back to you, he can't, for he has to follow his own rules and therefore his hands are tied. See if you can find an old address to sign a message with and maybe then he will be able to help. |

To expect that the hacked original owner of the account to refund you is just mind boggling to say the least.
How you can sleep at night is a mystery to me as you think it is fine to just screw people and demand that victims should pay you money for trying to screw them.

I have already caved  I sent him a message asking to buy the account back for half of what he paid. I guess there is nothing else I can do since Theymos and the admin are keeping quiet about the subject... Incorrect - you should have realised that the "staking" was only done very recently and her account was years old (it took me all of 1 minute to work that out).
The thing is, some accounts are bought and sold very quickly, usually by account farmers who will buy an account, do some posting and rank it up, then sell it as soon as possible. It doesn't seem that strange (at least to me) to see an old account have a new staked message and be sold off after a few months. Don't lose faith. At some point the community will band together and ostracize these account buyers/sellers that are a cancer to bitcointalk.
I suppose I should stop escrowing these kinds of trades. Or at least make my fees something ridiculous for account trades. It seriously sucks, there was allot of information on that account that I actually use lol. Like how to get the flex src for cam4btc to compile so I can relaunch the cam site. That's actually how I figured my account was hacked.. I was looking back on some older messages because I am having problems building the source so I can change the ip to a new server.
Now i'm kinda screwed. I guess that's a lesson learned always keep hard copies of important messages and docs...
Maybe the current owner of the account can forward those PMs to you so you at least have access to that information. |

Honestly exactly what went on with your account is probably not going to be determined (but it could well have been hacked and that does seem to be the most likely thing).
The person now in control of the account has basically admitted that they did not do any due diligence about said account and have realised that they have screwed up (although they are yet to admit it).
Unfortunately if you don't have a way to prove prior ownership of the account then there is really no solution here so perhaps you'll need to accept your new forum name (or create another one).
It is understandable to be upset over losing a name but also you need to realise that your password must not have been very good (otherwise your account would not have been hacked).
