Kid...please be careful..this is probably one of those things that you will look back on in a few years and DEEPLY regret.

(as a parent if I found out my kid was doing this....)
342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merged Mining Question: BTC & NMC on: March 26, 2013, 03:13:45 PM

Namecoin is only mined if you specifically point your miner at mergedmining.btcguild.com:8332 (getwork only).  I have no plans to add NMC merged mining to the Stratum interface at this time.

hmmmm.....
343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merged Mining Question: BTC & NMC on: March 26, 2013, 03:06:28 PM
no...one or the other m8...  btc or nmc.  not both at the same time.

no...you do not...just means you have the option to mine either btc or nmc thru btc guilds pool.
345  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Setting up namecoins on BTC guild on: March 26, 2013, 02:45:20 PM

346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Setting up namecoins on BTC guild on: March 26, 2013, 05:27:59 AM

347  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC/USD: Ready for "The Running of the Bears"? on: March 25, 2013, 02:50:47 AM
Great reading...learned alot...thanks. But I dont buy it...bitcoin has something about it that I don't think your thesis can model..its that intangible something that you can't quantify. I think all your point's are valid and well thought out...I just think that bitcoin is about to go viral thru the general public so it pretty much blow old CW out the door.

On second thought..I will buy it...tip sent for good literature.

352  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Decentralised crime fighting using private set intersection protocols on: March 24, 2013, 03:53:53 AM
Look...I am neither young nor dumb enough to not realize that there WILL be regulations...and I am for the rule of Law. Criminals just plain suck. At least career criminals do in my mind. Everyone makes mistakes tho. What happens to those people? Added to a blacklist...for...say a DUI. Now that persons coin is not worth as much because they are a credit risk? That being said I dont think whitelists and blacklists will sell very well to the masses anyway. Who is to say what is put on such lists and by whom? Some as yet to be named central authority? Yes...these concepts do need to be discussed. I fear something like this would lead to stratification and classification of individuals.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the whole bitcoin concept to be completely honest...I have this feeling that it will be the catalyst for a brighter future for mankind and I am humbled and honored to be a witness.
Let's not fuck it up.

354  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Decentralised crime fighting using private set intersection protocols on: March 24, 2013, 01:06:10 AM
do you hear the words coming out of your mouth???   taint the blockchain...are you fucking nuts?  letting people get to pick and choose who can or cant use their money? ummm..cause we dont like you? I think this goes against the whole principle of btc.

" Even if the government runs that blacklist"  ...wow.

355  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2013-03-23 Quantum computing nearing realization on: March 23, 2013, 09:52:01 PM
The specific type of quantum computer D-Wave has developed can-not solve cryptography problems.

This has nothing to do with Bitcoin.

Yet. As technology increases in the field of quantum mechanics/computing it will.

358  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quad HD 7970 Bitcoin Miner - PSU Req.? on: March 23, 2013, 04:48:39 PM
you should be getting way better hash off those cards. check your flags...check your fan speed. you have it set to auto? if so set to manual at least 80%...open case....the cards can run at 100c but below 80c is much much better. you need more airflow. also...the wild fluctuations are probably your card going in and out of "boost" mode....setting the gpu core and mem speeds manually is preferred. try setting the core at 1050-1100mhz(should hold at stock voltages, if not bump vcore) and the memory to 800mhz(lower mem voltage if you can 1.5v? default should be 1.6v).  you can flag these setting thru cgminer i believe but i use msi afterburner. YMMV.
