WTS 1k COAL for 10k sat each

Added on the OP.
I might just make a Google Doc so we can update this quicker, also an IRC chat for OTC trading
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COAL] BitCoal - Mining for the Masses (CPU/GPU) - POW - CryptoNight on: October 06, 2016, 04:25:49 PM
Putting more links on website would be cool like pools / mining softwares ...twitter

Already updating the website, also making Twitter account and Facebook page.
Should we make a Slack chat for trading talk and discussion?

We've started to compile Windows GUI Clients and worked on the CoalBit Repo to match BitCoal.
Apart from that we've also suggested the coin to C-CEX and we're hoping to be voted for!

If you have any ideas where BitCoal should be listed, please feel free to PM me or post here.
Also, we are looking for people to help manage this coin. Please PM me for this.

In the mean time, you can trade your COAL here in the trading thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1638116.new#new

thats good let see how the holders and buyers react while waiting for the exchange just keep it up dev will see the next stage after been listed.

Yes, it is indeed very exciting for COAL to rise!

I compiled the Linux wallet from source but when starting it throws this error, never has this issue with other forknote coins

Any ideas?

Have you double checked your .conf file?  it seems you have a typo in there '156.208.16.35:2913046.98.32.134'

Config seems fine, this Cryptonote coin seems to be way different to the other forknote coins we have added, none of the others have needed a config file at all, usually they add the changes to the source code.

Someone posted this link earlier in the thread, but I guess its another coin

It was what we were supposed to use, but the possibility of CryptoNote coins getting into the market is quite low, due to the lack of the ability
to get a blockchain explorer.. That's why we used ForkNote, not only because it was relatively easy to set up, but also because there was the ability for Blockchain Explorer

We will make a new repo for the source, don't worry

Dev, are we gonna get the payment from the pool.weusecoal.org soon or not?  my coins are stuck since yesterday there....

Thanks

Pool.WeUseCoal.org had many unexpected errors.. I will pay your coins back in BTC
Paying 0.0001 BTC each to those who had a balance at Pool.WeUseCoal.org

I'm buying 20k COAL for 0.002 BTC in total

Please PM me if you have this much COAL

LOL no one would sell their coal for that price

The hell i have misunderstood him and give him 2500 coal for .0001, tought it was for EACH, not for the whole batch!!!!

The problem is, the reason why I'm paying back the COAL is because the 20k COAL from the mining pool is lost due to corrupt wallet when the pool crashed

WHAT!!!  Are you serious?  So all the coins mined there are lost, all the coins ive mined? i had like over 100 blocks in there...

Yes, sadly. The pool crashed last night before Democats joined remember, and the wallet file became corrupt

And you had no backup of your wallet file?

No, I did not expect the pool crash to corrupt the file

That's what backups are for. Since you're holding other people's money you need to take responsibility for this. Rent some hash and mine 20K coal then send it to the people who lost out. simple and cheap solution.

Yeah i mostly agree with that, either you mine it back yourself over a week or so and send them coins from your personal stack, either your rent hash or buy it back at a higher price.

If something that simple is not well managed this coin will not even get to exchanges at all

well things like this happen on new pools ... u know mining there would be risky and yet you did ... im still mining solo and fining blocks
you should not mine and go to sleep unless its dedicated pool

Well official pools are usually safe, but since i had no payment at all i shouldve expected this and stop mining on it until its resolved.

Also if a pool is losing people coins they usualy go out of business (ive seen some refund in the past in some cases), in this case its the coin own pool so i expect some stability and dedication to his system.

Can you GPU mine in solo? I think you need a pool for this am i right?  If you GPU mine in solo please elaborate...

You can use anything to mine solo. As long as you are connected to your daemon Smiley

BTW, There are no funds to insure, because we did not have any premine. We all started mining at the same time. We simply created the coin and manage it
so we can have a new eco system, but we do not govern over it... It was my mistake that caused the wallet's loss, but I think we should move on and just keep mining
Like in Finding Dory! Smiley

This is an interesting idea. Haha I like the name, gives mining for coal a whole new meaning. What are your future plans with distribution ?
I'm glad you using cryptonight I love that algo. Can mine with gpu and cpu ^^ and not dominated by mine farms and people with too much money.  Grin

I agree, if a small exchange can add this up it would be nice as well.

I havent seen the payout schedule on the pool thou, its even showing negative numbers in there, hope this will get fixed...

Yeah, I noticed too. Fixing it right now. Apparently the wallet is denying access to the mining pool.

Hmmmm im not able to find blocks anymore....  Any of you guys are getting any?

Have i broked something on my side?

The difficulty is way too high to find any blocks at the moment alone Smiley

This really look cool at least a unique algo, what is the premine percentage ?

BitCoal was not premined at all (0% Premine)

You can see it in the conf also:
GENESIS_BLOCK_REWARD=0 (0% Premine)

Enre, no, not working Sad

forward the port 29130 in your router/firewall to your pc (that was the solution in my case)
maybe the windows firewall is blocking the wallet try to disable it and see if you can connect to the network

Yes, that's right. If it says to allow the wallet network access you must allow it network access and unblock the port
so you can connect to your peers and download the blockchain Smiley

BTW Guys! Mining Pool is up!

i made a tweet about bitcoal so new people / miners can give it a shot here https://twitter.com/BTC_kahir/status/783312458962333697 ....

as i said a step by step would be good for new miners wanting to try things out ... i have getting alot of question lately from new people into mining in altcoins

http://pool.weusecoal.org/ is now up and running!
Follow the guide and mine BitCoal now!

I have error: "failed to connect to any of seed peers, continuing without seeds" Sad

Help me!

not working.

somebody can help me Huh

Try deleting your bitcoal folder at %appdata%

I deleted a folder, added nodes in bitcoal.conf, but still I get the error!

Is it better to mine on daemon or on pool?

It's better to mine on daemon for now, but as the hashrate rises, it will be better to mine on pool.
The pool is going through an update right now, so it may not work at the moment, give it around 10 minutes and it will work!
