281  Economy / Speculation / Re: Managed retirement funds safe to invest or should I stick with cash? on: April 07, 2020, 10:27:04 PM
I don't know how much money you have but I would go with suggestion made earlier in this thread to invest in real estate. You may invest some portion of your money in crypto but never place all your eggs in a basket. We don't know what crypto will be in 2050 and on retirement everyone needs a solid passive income, so nothing is best then real estate for long term.
282  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona has killed economy of many businesses on: April 07, 2020, 09:42:39 PM
This is true that covid19 has destroyed economies of many countries and irony is that we don't know how long it will last. While countries like USA, Germany may come out of financial crisis after this epidemic is over, its very unluckily that small economies may survive this shock. IMF/World Bank and other lending agencies should wave off loans of small economies as a measure of relief.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are calling projects as scam when they are in a bear market? on: April 07, 2020, 08:55:53 PM
Its also a reality that there are many scam projects in crypto market that has destroyed investor confidence. But OP is true in saying that many competitors also destroys a project reputation to knock him out of the market. Its recommended to DYOR before you made any conclusion about project reputation.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH might go down below 80$ on: April 07, 2020, 08:39:39 PM
Eth went as low as to 97$ before jumping up and touching its current price of 172$. Another crypto wild swing in less than a month. We can never predict with certainty that what will be the minimum dip, its a price we have to decide ourselves and vice verse. Those who bought eth around 100$ must be enjoying the lockdown.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Role of the crypto in the incoming global crisis on: April 07, 2020, 06:51:47 PM
Despite current financial crisis aimed covi19, governments and other financial agencies are not looking at crypto for solution. So I don't think crypto has any role to solve the economic crisis, at least not today. In my view crypto will continue to exists along side centralized financial system that's managed and owned by governments.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which will be the best altcoin to invest now on: April 07, 2020, 06:43:35 PM
For me Ethereuem is the first option when it comes to investing in altcoins. Apart from Eth coins like BCH, Monero are also good to be included in your portfolio. Alt coins are good for long term investment that's why I prefer keeping 70% in btc. Altcoins price are closely associated with BTC, they cant move on there own.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will only the best survive? on: April 07, 2020, 06:24:41 PM
We have seen many market crashes, this is not the first one nor the last. The point is when market crashes wiser investors start buying stocks, commodities and valuable cryptocurrencies at discounted price and this is exactly whats going on right now. In my view, only those who have strong nerves to bear this situation will survive, those who panic and sell wont survive.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people here would choose bitcoin as their form of payment? on: April 07, 2020, 03:48:12 PM

Question:

I was curious if given the opition would you or would you not get all pay in 100% bitcoin.

You don't know what Bitcoin is until you get your first payments in Bitcoin, no middlemen, not much to pay for transfer fee and you get it in decent amount of time. I don't think getting everything in BTC will be great idea as we are very much dependent on cash to live our daily lives. I am happy to get 30% in btc while rest in cash.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are having the difficult time, are you still a Bitcoin HODL? on: April 07, 2020, 03:07:22 PM
Its not a recession nor a crisis, we still don't know what this is and when it will end. I was fortunate enough to buy BTC in latest crash at around $4500, I still believe that current price is still safe to buy bitcoin as there is not much risk involved in current price. My target is still the same, I will sell my holdings when BTC will cross 15k$ till then I am a HODLer.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee 2020 Prediction on: April 07, 2020, 02:37:28 PM
I really don't have to say anything about predictions specially people like McAfee, who never apologized the community for there wrong predictions made in the past. Rather they are coming again with new ideas and concepts. Bitcoin is the future and there is no doubt about that, the community must not get distracted because of such predictions. Just ignore them.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: April 07, 2020, 02:13:36 PM
Be it cash or BTC, best is what is required in current situation. OP needed a cash so he did the best to sold his btc. It is useless to prefer BTC/Cash or any other thing over our lives. There are many people selling there bitcoins because of current situation. Lets hope things get better with time and we continue our normal lives.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Satoshi theory? Deceased or alive & well on: April 07, 2020, 01:51:48 PM
Well nobody can say whether satoshi is alive or dead. Its perhaps biggest mystery of 21st century still unsolved. But one thing we have to admit is that bitcoin is a platform created by human for humanity. It seems very rear that satoshi is just a single guy who created this all, he must have fellows also and they must be around us for sure.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH hits $160, after a +11% gainer in the last 24 hours on: April 06, 2020, 07:20:34 PM
For the first time, the ETH price broke away from the BTC price. I think this is a good start for alt seazon.
The bear market for altcoins lasted for over two years, I think this is the best moment to show the world that this is not the end of altcoins, but it is the end of classic money!
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: April 06, 2020, 11:21:04 AM
I have convinced myself that the NBA regular season and post season are CANCELLED. due to the rising number of infected people in the USA.

Just want to clarify something, what do you guys thinking? The whole NBA season will be just postponed or cancelled already? If the latter one hapoens, then who is gonna be the proclaimed champion? I am curious about this issue because recently I saw a post on FB (one of sport related pages out there) that if NBA failed to continue the season then they will go with the point system something like that thus Lakers will be the overall champion. Is it a rule? How true this is? Huh

I think it's too early to say that there is no chance to finish the season. In my opinion, there is still a chance that it will succeed.
However, if the coronavirus infection situation is getting worse, I'm afraid the only solution will be to cancel the results of the entire season.
You can't declare a champion if all games have not taken place, it would be unfair.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will only the best survive? on: April 06, 2020, 10:42:03 AM
The current situation where entire world market of stocks, forex and cryptocurrencies are impacted, only strongest will survive and once everything will be over, the only survived will shine.
There is a major support for cryptocurrencies market at the moment due to upcoming Bitcoin halving rewards event. Hope the situation will be in favour of markets soon.
seeing the situation of the world right now...even the best coins are in danger of crash...i am from india and the whole share market has crashed here and dont know what will happen in next few weeks...really hope things get under control soon

As for the normal stock market, you can be sure that the crisis for them is just beginning. Soon companies will publish a report from the first three months of this year and I am sure that the crash will be larger than recently. However, this creates a great opportunity for the cryptocurrency market, because many investors from normal exchanges will be looking for new investments and probably a lot of capital will appear on the cryptocurrency markets. I think this could be the beginning for the new bull run and alt season on the cryptocurrency market.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚽ [ANN] ⚽ MyTVchain - Live sports, powered by blockchain ⚽ on: April 06, 2020, 09:59:13 AM

What about your tokenomics, is everything working? Can I get mytv fan tokens for watching videos and should I complete registration to get them?
You can connect your wallet to mytv platform and get tokens

I'm afraid you're misleading. First of all, he doesn't ask how to get the "MYTV" tokens, that you can buy on the ieo.mytvchain.com platform as you described and on exchanges, but he asks for the "MYTV fan" token.
As for how to get the "MYTV fan" token and when they are implemented on the platform, as far as I know, it has not yet been officially announced. The only information that has been released is that it will happen this year.
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: April 06, 2020, 08:59:46 AM
Trading is a gamble due to the volatility of the market. In day trading you can use different tools and leverages to earn profit. However, in gambling you can only depend in luck, the amount or profit you earn depends on your luck and the amount you are willing to stake on each bet.

At least, the chance for us to get a profit in trading will be bigger in gambling. No matter how big the volatility of the price in trading, we can make a profit, but that will work if we can analyze the market. But if you can not analyze, then that is gambling because you depend on the luck which you hope that the price will reach on the price you want.

You cannot say that the profit from trading is bigger than in gambling.
The market is so volatile and can be end up losing a lot of money while in gambling you can double or triple your money in just some minutes if you are lucky enough.

The same can be earned by trading with leverage.
You can't compare all types of gambling to trading, but there are exceptions.
Typical casino games, i.e. roulette or slots, are based entirely on luck, so have nothing to do with trading. However, such gambling games as poker or sports betting require experience and knowledge to have an advantage. It is the same in trade, the one who has more knowledge and experience, is more likely to earn than others on the market.
I think that this is the only way to compare gambling to trading.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Role of the crypto in the incoming global crisis on: April 06, 2020, 03:38:47 AM
I do not think crypto will be widely used as an investment during this crisis, but it can be more used as a  payment method. Anonymous cryptocurrencies are also likely to grow in popularity.

Crypto might be widely used as an investment but with the message posted by people like Robert Kiyosaki, Elon Musk about cryptocurrency (especially BTC) and gold to be the best assets to invest in during this current crisis there's a chance that crypto will be widely used as an investment. Perhaps , the upcoming halving usually give crypto more traffic.

I think that until the situation related to the spread of the virus calms down, people will not consider investments, not only in cryptocurrencies, but no investments at all. When there is confirmed information that the situation is under control, then people will calm down and will start thinking about future. Certainly, after such a big economic stagnation, the crisis on the stock exchanges will be very large, which is why investments such as in gold, diamonds, works of art and it is very possible that in cryptocurrencies may also be more attractive. This moment can be a very big chance for cryptocurrencies to increase popularity and of course to increase price.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚽ [ANN] ⚽ MyTVchain - Live sports, powered by blockchain ⚽ on: April 06, 2020, 12:40:43 AM
I also did not received yet compensation for a bounty campaign.
I was sending emails, but no one answered. Why are we ignored?
The campaign was on Bitcointalk, so communication should take place here.
When will the compensation be paid?
I will clarify this question and come back with the answer soon, sorry for the delay

At the beginning, we were informed to send the number of tokens received from bounty and the address to which we received them, to email marketing@mytvchain.com - Nothing happened.
Later, we were sent to email lc@mytvchain.com - In January I received information that the compensation will be paid within a several days. It has not arrived until today, and two and a half months have passed.
Now we are being sent elsewhere.
Just give us the real payout date, that's all.

300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guys avoid panic sell... on: April 05, 2020, 08:46:16 PM
It is really hard to avoid panicking especially if we have a certain coin in our portfolio then its prices decline so bad. Controlling our emotions is really hard, I also having a hard time for me to set aside my emotions when I do trading but for me I can do it because I know do training in order for me to not panic anymore.

VERY GOOD ADVICE !!!!

You should trade BitCoin based on facts, not emotions.   The biggest problem here is that people are so in love with the IDEA of BitCoin, that they will likely HODL onto their BitCoins when the financial indicators say it is time to sell  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hard Facts

It is usual for people to react according to emotions - that's what we got them for - that's a hard fact.
If someone is fascinated by something and loves it, just like Bitcoin lovers, why would they sell it if they believe that cryptocurrencies are the future?!
I'm afraid your hard facts have nothing to do with reality and the freedom of choice for every human.

When it comes to the fact that selling during panic is not a good decision, it is obvious and if we do not have investment priorities set (before we invest), we should not invest on high risk market.
