361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Coin proposal tradecoin on: January 31, 2012, 05:47:38 AM
added variables to above list.  You can trade coins without an exchange if you want to.  The system might be webbased or it might actually be stored on everyones hard drive.  There should be a posting fee to put an item up worth about $.15.  The reason is to avoid spammers and cheap junk items.  It could also be a separate block chain, with a link to the picture online.

Is there such a thing as a server based YAML system.  The problem is how do you run the system in a centralized world. A block must contain the YAML data.  A bloc already has keys and address and amounts, so it should be able to incorporate a light YAML or xml type file.   The system could also be used to send messages.  Thus pictures would have to be removed to keep the system light.

So each block contains the YAML file to store all the auctions and feedback data.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New Coin proposal tradecoin on: January 29, 2012, 06:22:16 AM
The purpose of this coin or client is to have a trading platform built in.   Not trading coins but merchandise.  A coin without a market is useless. This might be added to an alternative client or be a whole coin system on its own.

1. You send a message to the server with a coin address, description of the merchandise, and a possibly a (automatically encoded) picture of the merchandise.

2. Thus one of the panels in additional to "All Transactions, Sent, Received, Mining, you would have a Trading Panel".  You click on the trading panel and you might see stuff you can buy.  video cards, tools, digital art, watches, cars for example."   Then to the right of the picture is the description 3 lines about 100 characters long.  An example description might be

5830 sapphire video card.
Used for mining never overclocked
Guaranteed to work

Below or above that you have the coin address, and feedback rating.  You can claim an address on the forums for added reputation.  An example might be:

QQxi8BKchgS46GrU7uXJ3Sa5zgBtbhCVVz 120 1 1212111

Where 120 is the positive, 1 is the negative, 1212111 total number of coins sent to address.

3. When you send to the address a panel opens up.  Where you provide a P.O. Box, address, name, maybe email address if the auction is for electronic art ...  You beam say 5 btc.  The first one that beams wins the "pay it now" auction, and the item disappears.

4. Use existing chain, btc, ixc, i0c, or sc., 0.05 transaction fee, .05 difficulty, transaction fees deleted, block reward 1, 51% attack proof, < 2% inflation.

5. Auction items are automatically deleted at 4:00 p.m. posters time, this gives you one hour to get to the post office.  Don't post if you can't send same day.

gpl, mit. open.  it would be nice to make this gpl so all coins can add it to clients, but it is your choice.  But the idea is open.  It would be nice to make it open for make it more secure and allow community to add features.

I just thought I would add a preliminary list of variables.

$sequentialid or #sid = sequential id of the auction starting 000000000001
$timestamp = time auction item ends.
$timezone = time zone of user
$description1 = line 1 description of item
$description2 = line 2 description of item
$description3 = line 3 description of item
$picture = uuencode or base64 of the image in jpeg, png format limited to 640x480 but auto scaled by software.
$address = coin address of item
$amount = size of transaction.
$shipping = formula
$email = email to notify item as sold
$email = to ask seller questions
$webaddress = web address.

preliminary feedback database.
$auction[$sid,$description1]= All items above except picture.  Thus every auction is saved.
$coinaddress = coinaddress is main search item.
$positive = #number of positive ratings
$negative = #number of negative ratings
$amounttotal = sum of all auctions where feedback submitted.
$amountpositive = total positive ratings and amount of auction
$amountnegative =  total negative ratings and amount of auction
$feedback[0] = one line of feedback

363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RELEASE] Liquidcoin (Speculation based) on: January 28, 2012, 09:14:47 AM
Bitcoin is leading because there are businesses around bitcoin also there is a real team of developers.

Liquidcoin is analogous to gold.

1gold. You mine gold so many man-hours per ounce.
1lqc. You mine lqc so many per difficulty.

2gold. When the new world was discovered, the price of gold halved due to the new supply added.
2lqc. As new equipment is added like fpga's or 16cores, the price of lqc might halve.

3gold. New technology allows people to mine gold at lower cost, but the current supply prevents large amounts of inflation.
3lqc. New mining algorithms or software allows people to mine at lower cost, but the current supply puts a lid on inflation.

4gold.  The whole country could mine gold, but the price would crash.
5lqc.  The whole world could mine lqc, but the price would crash.

5gold/lqc.  If coins are hoarded and the price rises, people will just mine more

Looks like a cross between Brad Pitt and George Michael.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / congrats i0c block 200,000 and 10,000,000 coins out on: January 26, 2012, 02:43:38 AM
Still ticking.

block 200,000 x 48 = 9,600,000 coins out soon to be 10,000,000 coins out at block 204,000 or so.  This is ahead of bitcoin.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin.org should be back up soon on: January 24, 2012, 05:02:50 AM
IXC - Intellectual Excellence Coin
I0C - Intellectual Zero Coin

I love these two coins.

367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spammed with namecoins, now its dead. on: January 24, 2012, 01:53:26 AM
"drakahn: its being spammed to the address in my signature at bitcointalk"  at btc-e

Looks like a minimum transaction size and a sales tax might be needed.  1 minimum transaction size and 5% tax deleted.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spammed with namecoins, now its dead. on: January 24, 2012, 01:36:22 AM
I noticed the price of nmc dropped 50% at Vircurex.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RELEASE] Liquidcoin (Speculation based) on: January 23, 2012, 08:52:59 PM
We will see I bought 5000 just in case.  I think you have to wait 3 months to see if it is a failure.  Gold can be mined so many man-hours per ounce.  liquidcoin can be mined so many per difficulty.  So liquidcoin mimics gold more than any other coin.  I use to only get 3 connections, now I always get 8.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] -- LQC coins -- Coinotron pool on: January 22, 2012, 07:26:54 PM
Due to low interest of miners we decided to close IXC and I0C sub-pools.
Please withdraw your coins until 2012-01-31.

no merged mining, my as well use a merged mining pool at bitparking and mine 5 together.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RELEASE] Liquidcoin (Speculation based) on: January 21, 2012, 09:04:16 AM
Once the reward goes to 1 at block 96,000 there will be 1,225,000 coins out.  If you mine 1000 blocks a day (today it is 2000 blocks a day), that is 365,000 coin a year.  So the inflation is still going to be 30%.  Bernanke and congress can do better than that.  However, the number of coins per day will change on the price and number of miners, so it is a neat experiment which a paper can be written on.

Gold can be mined so many man-hours per ounce.  liquidcoin can be mined so many per difficulty.  So liquidcoin mimics gold more than any other coin.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how much would you ask to create (me) a cryptocoin variation ? on: January 21, 2012, 07:54:58 AM
Based on the Good Wife, I don't want to go to jail for 10 years because I created a currency.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AnyCoin cryptocurrency [concept] on: January 20, 2012, 08:56:33 AM
I think you will see realcoin is just a subset of bitcoin.  ixcoin a subset of bitcoin.  iocoin as subset of bitcoin.  realcoin just does not play around, rather than re-mining the whole chain they just go to a pre-mine and an exchange using bitcoin as a base.  There is more liberty if you do it this way compared to anycoin.

BTW, you can make a new coin changing about 5 lines of bitcoin code.  Someone even posted the lines once.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Ixcoin 0.3.24.3 - merged mining, timetravel fix (compulsory upgrade) on: January 20, 2012, 04:17:42 AM
I guess all trading will continue at https://vircurex.com/ .  IXC still has trades at btc-e.com.  However, I am looking forward to the realcoin trading.  Not as slick as btc-e but it still works.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin - Targeted to the IM world! on: January 18, 2012, 08:53:22 AM
unless that 10000 is going to be used for marketing i don't think this coins going to take off

That is a good idea, pay someone some coin for every forum post or youtube video and you will be the most popular coin.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin - Targeted to the IM world! on: January 17, 2012, 09:45:19 PM
They are pre-mined, but the only way you can get them is exchange them for bitcoin.  It may take some deep thought, but what you are doing is basing the system on the most fair coin so far bitcoin.  Millions of exchanges have taken place in bitcoin, why not use that fairness to start a new coin. You could use the bitcoin blockchain directly, but you still have the issue of a 1 gb blockchain and how to get $10,000 to pay for the current coin.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin - Targeted to the IM world! on: January 17, 2012, 09:30:02 PM
I don't agree with the way you a distributing the coins with a faucet, a pre-mine, and an exchange.  The most fair blockchain right now is bitcoin, but even all the others are fair, they become fair as people use the coins in exchanges. As soon as one dollar is used in the exchange or service, the coin becomes fairer.  Mining is not a fair way to distribute coin.  Mining is not fair to the existing owners of coin.

Someguy is going to use the faucet to get more than his fair share of coins for free.  Thus, end the faucet.  You don't know what the coins are going to be worth so end the pre-mine.  An exchange is the most fair way to distribute coins, btc for rc.  You could use the existing bitcoin blockchain, but you using an exchange is the same thing and avoids the blockchain bloat. The fairest thing you can do is pre-mine all the coins. Then use an exchange to sell 10,000,000 coins at a fixed rate of 5,000 per btc.  Set the block reward at a permanent 1.

Amir Taaki

"I examined IxCoin’s sourcecode after unsuccessfully imploring him to drop his losing bet on IxCoin. Quickly it was apparent that the entire thing was unstable and a get rich quick scam. Within 6 years, the system would become unstable and shut down overnight because of technical reasons."

Question: Does the block reward just go to zero?  Will blocks still be created just with no block reward as long as there are connections and miners?

If not maybe nasakioto can add a 1 block reward after coin 21,000,002 is minted?
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Ixcoin 0.3.24.3 - merged mining, timetravel fix (compulsory upgrade) on: January 16, 2012, 02:26:03 AM

I had a 1050 coin bounty on there for best ixc graphic website before end of year.  Since no graphic was submitted I decide to give it to the ixc best site.  ixcoin.org is full of spam so I decided to post here.

Winners
1. http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/
2. allchains.info
3. http://mmpool.bitparking.com/pool
4. https://vircurex.com/

Both 1. and 2. are down for ixcoin at the moment.  If neither are up by 1/15/02, I will send it to 3. doublec.

Since allchains was up, I sent 3000 ixc to him. 1050 for the bonus. ama was active today 1st time in months.

ixc now 40 days early.

I think Peter Schiff in his radio show said they have a gold credit card that operates like above for people overseas.  Even with a paypal card it could work with a lot of scripts to automatically maintain a $20 balance on your paypal or debit card.
