41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIRAL] [Trading Live - Coming to Bittrex] DPoS 2.0 + 5% Dev:Adam Guerbuez on: May 14, 2015, 08:27:14 PM
When do crowdfunders get their coins?  The OP says after IPO and wallet has been released.  Both of the conditions are true.

Windows wallet is out, Mac & Linux versions to follow in due time. If you are on a Windows machine, go to the GitHub page (https://github.com/viraldev/viral) and download the Win wallet (works as well on a VM btw). Once you have it set up, PM BayAreaCoins and he'll send you your portion of the coins; took less than 8 hours to get mine after a PM. He's quick.

Everyone who has contacted me for crowdfunding coins should have received them by now.  If not... please PM me!

Only a handful of folks left to collect their VIRAL and I believe a few of them are waiting for the Mac wallet!

Thanks for the swift transactions!

In other news, I tried compiling the wallet on both Linux and Mac, and both cases failed miserably (errors with Qt). So now running a wallet (and staking) on Windows with a VM. So far so good. To the moon, right meow now.

If we're posting random articles, here's one http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/blog/facebook-made-a-hero-out-of-adam-guerbuez.html

Quote
[...]To any spammer and legitimate Internet marketer worth his salt, Guerbuez is a hero. He may have declared bankruptcy, but his 15 minutes of fame will ensure that every spammer and Internet marketer will be banging on his door wanting to know how he did it.[...]

[...]Not only did Guerbuez figure out a way to get past Facebook security and market directly to its base, he also continued to market using the trial and outcome as a platform. It all culminated with his name and face in every newspaper and news magazine, every radio and TV station, and on every news website around the globe.

A masterful stroke. And Facebook handed it to him on a silver platter.

So how many are you buying?

1. Will short 10-15 sec videos be included on the ad feed?

2. How much customization will the user have deciding which ads gets run? Will it be based on categories (tech, media etc) or specific companies and their specific products/services?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIRAL] [PO Ninja Launch Today @ C-CEX!!!] DPoS 2.0 + 5% Dev:Adam Guerbuez on: May 08, 2015, 05:47:14 AM
I touched on this on Slack already but here it is for the larger audience:

The concern is the frequency and quality of Viral campaign posts on the social media feed. For example "Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my phone, and the new Galaxy S7 looks pretty slick don't you think? Check it out here: https://samsung.com/S7" is neutral enough, and would get clicks. But if I want to be effective, wouldn't my social media feed need to be part of several ad campaigns, thus resulting in 3, 6, 8 (?) posts per day from different campaigns, all sounding pretty much the same -- unless the campaigns crosstalk? So the risk is then your followers, having seen this trend over the course of days and weeks, will start ignoring / stop following you, diminishing the clicks and numbers over time?

Sorry, online marketing is not my area, so maybe this is not a really an issue. Thoughts?

ViralDev / Adam,

You keep mentioning the team, "devs" etc, it'd be nice, in the name of full disclosure and transparency, to put faces to names, or even better, real names (gasp!; aside from Adam's of course) of the whole team? I know, I'm old skool. I understand coin teams wanting to be more or less anonymous, but since Viral is bridging fiat business to cryptobusiness, the identities would come out eventually, yes? Just a thought, not a big one for me.

Adam/ViralDev, a couple of questions:

1. How many members are in the core dev team? Will you be expanding it?

2. I didn't see a specific BTC/fiat goal mentioned in the crowdsale/ICO, and that the crowdsale will be used for price discovery. Do you have an unpublished (confidential?) price you'll be using as a go/no-go? Or this project is a go no matter what the ICO price will be?

3. If I choose to become a participant on Viral, how intrusive/frequent will the targeted ads be, i.e. how many posts/mentions/"likes"/+1's etc etc per day/week is one to expect on their feed? How will the advertising/marketing appear on the social media -- trying to gauge the level of spammyness and annoyance of the campaigns.

4. "We have clients lining up at the door with cutting edge consumer products, innovative personal electronics and so much more - there is simply no need to allow lower quality products onto the network." Obviously you can't mention names/size of said companies, but that all sounds like marketing speak for "no clients yet, we are hoping to get some after ICO". So do you have agreements signed up already or it's a WIP for now?

Thanks.

I can vouch for Mogumodz, and though I'm prob going to sit this one out, I have been part of his last two group buys. Very professional admin, transparent (we've had issues with boards before), and share payments come on time. I'm on the West Coast of U.S., and location has never been an issue.

Yeah, AMD's are the way to go. Here's a chart to give you an idea what to expect:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

What they don't mention in the charts is the noise and heat the GPU's generate. If you are planning on running a dedicated rig, to combat the heat I recommend keeping it all in the open. If you have a dark, musty room somewhere, you can really get into a "miner" mindset; throw on a helmet and a headlamp, with some oily rags on, and you have the complete experience!

Hello All.  So is power coin dead?  Whats the best coin to mine now?

I've been on Litecoin for a couple of months now, so far it's been ok. I like to diversify between BTC and something else, and LTC seems to have the legs at the moment. At least until my ASICs arrive (this year? please?).
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey! I'm new here :) Also would you be able to lend a hand? on: July 02, 2013, 08:44:59 PM
Great! Thank you Smiley

I know it is low and slow but hey...maybe once I get a few more rigs setup I can do more than an estimated 0.033 a day lol!

Would you happen to know if it is possible to use my Gainward GT 630 2GB GPU to mine as I am currently using my CPU?

While you could, you're probably better off not using *any* Nvidia GPU's for mining. Most likely your GPU will be only marginally better than the CPU you're using, but with an added downside of increased fan noise and heat.
