Has anyone been able to successfully use the RTX2060/2070 on Bminer yet?  Doesn't seem to be recognizing/communicating with the GPU drivers 410
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bminer: a fast Equihash/Ethash/CuckooCycle miner for AMD/NVIDIA GPUs 13.0.0 on: January 22, 2019, 05:01:49 PM
I just installed the Bminer-ethos and am trying to connect to F2Pool... How do I set my user?  Right now it is mining but for F2pool instead of for us.
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antminer s9 set a target temperature? on: February 02, 2018, 06:32:28 PM
The fans should control themselves based on the chip temps.... If you really want to run it cooler you can flash the firmware and on the first boot you will have the option to change the core frequency.  Try under clocking it a bit.  Then you will run cooler, but less hash rate.
Hope this helps!
4  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S9 Power Variances on: February 02, 2018, 06:29:56 PM
Just completed that test.... When i hook an S9 up to an IBM Blade center 2880 it runs just under 1400 W.  We hook it back up to the Bitmain and it shoots right back up to 1500ish Watts...... Garbage.
5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S9 Power Variances on: February 02, 2018, 06:02:26 PM
Noted.... In the future don't use Bitmain PSU's.... I knew they were suspect, but this is really bad performance.  If it's one or two units then not really a big deal, but when spread across an 800 unit deployment it definitely has an impact on our engineering for this particular deployment.
6  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / S9 Power Variances on: February 02, 2018, 01:22:20 PM
Guys,

  Anyone else noticing that the Bitmain S9 13.5Th/s from the latest batch is not really pulling 1.4 kW.   It seems that there are HUGE variances in manufacturing quality of the Bitmain PSU's.... We have a few units pulling what they should (1.4-1.44 kW) but there are a ton of units we deployed pulling 1.5-1.55 kW.   Anyone else seeing this??

US$75/kW is expensive.  C$65/kW (=US$50) can easily be found:
http://cryptoboreas.com/pricing.html

There are now several utilities in the US with residential power prices around 5c/kWh (across the US, not just Chelan, WA), so hosting on your own is the best option.  If you are city with high power prices, hosting at a facility that charges ~10c/kWh is a bad idea, since it is only a matter of time before it becomes unprofitable like bitcoin.  The break-even point for mining with a Antminer S7 is now 9c/kWh.

Unfortunately that information is totally incorrect.  .05 US kWh for residential is virtually unheard of.  In the US our residential rates vary from .10 - .18 +
.05 cents per kWh is lower than we pay for industrial/commercial rates.

With that being said - You also have to factor in service size (480V 1.5 mW), transformers (480V to 208V), Air conditioning to keep the rigs cold, PDU's on server racks, racks them selves, the list goes on and on.  So comparing a rate (residential US or Canada) to a data center is apples to oranges.  No comparison at all.  Also you have to factor the cost of asymetircal fiber to your home connection as well plus all of the networking gear....  Again - no comparison from a home user to a professional environment.

Thanks for the feedback.  We are working on a new build with the 480.  We are estimating around 240 mhs.  Not ready for sales yet on it though. In quantity the 480 units are hard to come by plus we have to get the modded firmware stable before we offer to end users.

Thanks for comments on our facility!  We've put a lot of hard work in getting it expanded.  As far as the details of the facility go -

*  1.5 MW of total capacity (Up from 750 kW)
*  240 rack spaces added.
*  We have recently expanded our capacity and have hosting spaces open and dedicated for Bitcoin mining.
*  In addition to traditional clients we already host for several Bitcoin mining clients so we have experience in your field.
*  Our facility has dedicated fiber lines with redundancy to ensure your rigs stay connected and mining!
*  Our facility also has an 80 ton chiller dedicated to our space to make sure the rigs stay cool.
*  Currently we boast 98%+ up-time!!

Our rates are tiered in structure based upon your power demands, and start at 10.5 cents per kW all in ($75.60 per month / per kW).  No rack fee, no set up fees, none of the nickel and dime stuff that most data centers hit you with.  If you are interested in hosting please PM us for details and we will provide you with all necessary information.

Thanks again!

While we of course disagree with our advertising such an amazing item being labeled as spam we are all entitled to our opinion. Smiley

In any case there are discounts for volume purchases. $3,299 is the price if someone is to only purchase a single unit.   Thus far most of our orders have been 20+ and single unit retail sales don't happen very often.

Thanks for the feedback!
