With the hard fork on April 30, 2021, Qtum shifted into the FastLane with 32-second blocks. The halving blocks were adjusted to keep the same pacing for halvings, and the first halving for Qtum will be on December 1, 2021. In this blog, we review how halvings work and the schedule for Qtum halvings.

Qtum Stake-A-Thon Returns

The Qtum Offline Staking Stake-A-Thon returns with a new round of prizes. You can learn more about Stake-A-Thon and sign up to win prizes at https://stake-a-thon.qtum.org

The Stake-A-Thon is back with three months of prizes including more prizes for smaller wallets. The Stake-A-Thon will run from April 1 to July 1, 2021, and any super stakers registered previously are automatically entered, as are any address delegations.
The Stake-A-Thon will run for three months, including the reduced block spacing hard fork with Qtum Core version 0.20.2 on April 30, and super stakers must update for this mandatory hard fork which will not affect their eligibility since Stake-A-Thon timing is based on the cumulative operation.
Good luck in the Stake-A-Thon!

Using Qtum Electrum with Hardware Wallets

In this blog, we use the Qtum Electrum wallet for restoring addresses from hardware wallets to make offline staking address delegation transactions. You can delegate addresses held in hardware wallets for offline staking. These transactions can be created with a cold wallet described in the previous blog Qtum Electrum Cold Wallet Staking for additional security. A companion video blog (to come) will show the steps and results for recovering and delegating a Trezor address.
