I still can't see the site's overall profit displayed anywhere. I really recommend putting that up asap, othwerwise it looks a bit shady  Wink

My lucky meter is 100%. Actually I fount it's quite hard to lose money with the hourly 0.001 BTC reward. Thank you for the giveaway!

Ah I see.. Your welcome! You deserved it Dan Smiley

The bankroll is still low. Is it possible for some one will a lot of BTCs to win a lot from the casino?

Hi thecoinjournal, what do you mean by will a lot of BTCs?  Smiley

probably a typo, he meant "wiTH a lot of BTCs...".

and yes it is possible, if a players bankroll is big enough compared to the site ones, he can actually fuck the house.

read up on the nakowa story at just-dice if you're interested in that.

never underestimate variance and a huge bankroll  Grin

edit: i messed up that quote thing somehow...

Ah I see, I got it Smiley

Hmm, Nakowa story is quite interesting. I agree with you that it is a battle between variance + huge bankroll vs. the house edge. I see bitcoin dice game this way:
  • House: Receive lot numbers of bets and wagers because of the near instant result, mathematically house edge will take over variance. Profit should be more or less around wager * house edge, but theoretically not far.
  • Players: Benefits from high variance because of the very low house edge compared to offline casino

The case of Nakowa will be very very difficult to happen in real world casino with higher house edge, but in this bitcoin dice with lower house edge it might be possible if the site's get unlucky. However JD still has positive profit even after Nakowa won high percentage of total BR, this is house edge effect. I wonder, if we take out Nakowa's winning, how much is the site's profit.

i think doog had a lengthy and really interesting discussion about  site profit with/without nakowa in the JD thread, but my search-fu skills suck atm, maybe someone else is able to find it  Cool

Fuck the house in terms of "wow that's a large number", maybe.  But with a 1% house BR max win they really can't do that much damage (statistically, obviously someone can just max bet and go on a huge heater), compared to the total house BR.

did you read up on the nakowa story? you might wanna check out JD's site profit and then think over what you just wrote  Cheesy

Yeah, I agree with you, he won a bunch, but like I said that's the risk of gambling.  You can lose money, even if you are the house.  My point was that "site profit" is very different from "house bankroll".  The site profit was -2k but the house BR was still over 33k.  The house has the ability to wait out lucky streaks from big gamblers because it has the edge AND the bankroll and is able to dictate the terms (ie max bet).  Sometimes the gambler wins, that's whats so damn fun about it.

The recent Lika runs are a perfect example.  He was up huge and then lost it all back and now the site is at it's highest ever profit.  Another great example is Archie Karas.  He won 100 million in Vegas playing predominately pit games...and then lost it all back.  So you can certainly hurt the house temporarily, for a figure that is quite impressive when you compare it to regular people's bank accounts...but compared to the amount of money that the house has, it's not that large.

i guess we agree on most points then  Smiley but i just wanted to add that nakowa is the only whale i know who "forced" a casino to reduce it's max profit.

ps: thanks for that archie karas hint, i will read up on that topic!

you could have easily incoporatde a line about the fee in the spammy shit your bot creates every day in the trollbox, so I'd say most of what you wrote above is a lie.

you tried to steal a bigger share of the cake than the community conceded you to have and got caught.

it's really as simple as that. by being upstanding and honest you could have avoided that shitstorm.
