Hope there are a few coins left for me to mine.

Full respect on your current setup and your vision. As I said before you have some real life experience that is an asset to our group. You also understand that the equipment we will use today will probably change in the next 3 to 6 months and the power/complexity of that equipment will demand upgrades.
My only concern is that we might need a facility that can grow with that demand and provide the extra power and network resources as we need, to grow exponentially and not result in your divorce Smiley .
That said you are in a cheap power zone and have a good existing setup. 65$ a month for 400 gh/s is not a bad price for power. It sounds to me like someone is always home so that is a plus too.
Security is always an issue in this world..

Comments?

Nobody goes into an investment this scale without looking at the long term or ROI.. give them some credit for going big !! I'll invest next month Smiley

You have a bit of experience IMHO !!
Maybe you know a good secure location in NJ?
The problem I have with a collocation site is that we need security even with one box as maybe we want to expand in the future.
We are actually working with money making machines, that is even if the diff rate is going up x10 its something we have to think about.
Just putting 6k in someones basement is a risk, Hawaii is out until volcano power is feasible, research that DZ!! but in the short term we need an east coast or maybe mid west site to host our first box.
My 2 satoshi's

JD

PS Brazil is out, too complicated with imports. But Venezuela might be something to think about in the future... Cheap power, good internet..

168  Economy / Securities / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] [BITFUNDER] ADDICTION.TRADING Fund, feedback wanted on: August 26, 2013, 08:12:08 PM
Sounds really solid,
BTC investments are risky that's just the nature of the game.
Count me in when you get it up.

169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Money back in Miners investment on: August 20, 2013, 08:29:42 PM
Please before you buy anything check out this site: http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

If you have the specs of any mining machine you can put it into the calculator on that site and it will tell you how much you can expect to mine.
Remember every month in is harder and harder to mine for BTC so you will have to constantly keep upgrading to new machines if you want to make some profit.

There is a lot you need to know in  mining so do your research before you spend some $$$
If you decide to get into this kind of business and you purchase your mining equipment keep this thread updated.

Best of luck!!

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/
Great resource and good articles on the bleeding edge of the industry.

There are a few strategies you can look at,
1 buy your own equipment host it yourself, and pray that it makes it to you on time.
The risk is that the company will not deliver on time or just disapear. Its happened before.

2 buy into a trusted "group buy" of a bigger system with others. Make sure that there is an "escrow"" option and the organizers identity has been confirmed by a trusted 3rd party (John K is well known here for this escrow service)
I am personally invested with a few of these.

3 you can buy shares of an existing mining company that is already up and running
markets that let you buy shares of companies like this  can be found:

https://btct.co/

https://bitfunder.com/

Always do your homework and verify the facts.
Hope this helps..

Thats amazing!
It shows that google is interested, don't know if that is a good or a bad thing..
I hope they beat the charges.
171  Economy / Services / Re: Free Ripple Here!!!Join The Pool!!!Available For First 500 People!!! on: August 20, 2013, 06:47:38 PM
Thanks for the offer but I've had no luck getting a ripple wallet. Still in beta testing....
I like the project though and looks very promising.
Litecoin is a strong contender, namecoins show promise too but a coin that will surpass Bitcoin?
I don't see that happening any time soon.
Its nice to see that we have more "serious" altcoins doing well and better diversification in crypto-currencies.

172  Economy / Economics / Re: August is coming! Vote the price trend of BTC. on: August 20, 2013, 06:16:18 PM
100 is magic number.
Good BTC is so stable here, that is very good for Bitcoin
especially the last poll question should be formulated like how much BTC do you buy if it declines to $60 this year or something like this.
at first who is afraid of falling price down? miners? asics producers? maybe but not me or my friends for sure.
and at second people would only start buying and putting more money into BTC and cryptoenviroment so there is no reason to fell some worries or concerns.  Cool  Cool  Cool

I believe stable price is good for merchants and minners, thus good for Bitcoin

I respectfully disagree, real market price is good for miners and merchants.
Its nice to get paid in a currency that appreciates and it stays worthwhile to mine too.

I predicted $125 or better so far so good. One thing is for sure it will get allot harder to mine coins so there will be less new coins coming into circulation.
Demand seems to be growing.
We will be seeing currency devaluations of at least 5 big countries in the next few months.
These factors combined could push up the value of BTC much higher.

174  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Is there a need for more manual escrow support on the Group Buys Forum? on: August 20, 2013, 06:14:42 AM
Looks like you are on to something here!
I like how you handled your last GB and it seems that John K could use some backup.
Congrats on your first client!  I am sure you will get more soon.

Keep it up!
175  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Have you ordered your HashFast Baby Jet yet? on: August 16, 2013, 10:38:01 PM
Anyone here still believe there will be positive ROI even if they manage to deliver on time?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=272906.0
That is the idea behind the MPP.

Depends on the price and demand for bitcoins. I would like to be an optimist as I have shares in HF and KnC equipment.
HF seems to me to be the only company addressing the ROI issue, maybe not perfectly but it looks like a step in the right direction and it would be nice to see other companies adopt similar policies.
If we have a difficulty of 250 million in December and BTC is trading at $300 (possible) then its profitable. Mining is a risk, if you don't like risk then don't mine.

LOL !!

For anyone brave enough to get in on a group buy this one is highly recommended.
Looking forward to see what you come up with next.

Just wanted to say thanks for the 2 shares of the baby jet and all the help from DZ!!
Now all I have to do is explain to my wife that a 5% share in a $6000 "BJ" is a good thing ?!
Cheesy

Thanks for the answer, and I get your point.
Bitcoins are a ""bit" expensive and hard to come by in my part of the jungle but I'll see what I can work out in the next few days..
180  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bitcoin ASIC mining hardware price bubble? on: August 15, 2013, 06:49:17 PM
It's a scary world now!

http://thegenesisblock.com/cointerra-500-ghs-chips-alydian-10-ths-hosting-and-icedrill-ipo-set-out-to-change-bitcoin-mining-landscape/

500 TH/s mining farm in Holland, thats + 150% and KnC, Bitfurry have not even shipped yet......
Its not impossible that the BTC-USD (RUB,EUR, Coconut or what ever else you use) rate will increase.
It did go from 30 to 100 USD this year alone.. Not saying it will but it could..
Lets see.
