@KoSoVaR
That second strap you posted has some timings that are looser than the first one. You could try taking the second one and changing tRRD to 5 and use the other tighter timings from the SEQ_RAS_TIMING section of the first one to make a modified version of the second one.

Thanks for the info.  I tried going supper aggressive iN SEQ_RAS_TIMING and copying basically the UberMix 3.1 to the modified version I have.   No go.  Tried changing tRRD to 5 and ...

The UberMix 3.1 only gets you to 24?

What if you take the 1625 timings and run them through nerdralph's tool?

Keep in mind that some of these guys have highly tuned timings that they've been testing and optimizing...not just some copy/paste jobbie. And some of them have been able to overvolt the VRAM and therefore I assume can get higher mem clocks/tighter timings than us normies. Unless you are willing to pay someone for a mod or learn how to directly control the VRM I wouldn't expect to get 30+MH/s.

I can directly control all VRMs on Polaris cards I've come across, and STILL haven't found one that will let me fuck with MVDDC.

But the VDDCI and VDDC can be hard coded and will be effective through editing and flashing a BIOS, correct?  Can you see anything I'm doing blatantly wrong?  At this point I'm getting 26.2MH/s consistently with that Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB Hynix BIOS I posted above with 900mV VDDCI, 937mV VDDC, and using that strap.  I believe UberMix is "meant" for Samsung, at least from the forum posts.  Is that why I'm having issues?

VDDCI can usually be set - doesn't work on some XFX, as they use the second loop of the NCP81022 for it. VDDC - don't work on Linux, not PBE shit. Also, trying Samsung timings on Hynix, you should be thankful it worked at all xD

The Samsung on Hynix doesn't work, so UberMix 3.1 is not working.  I found this string of timings in another thread where you posted

not following on "not PBE shit".  VDDC does not work on Linux, regardless of what I set in PBE and flash?  And this is where omg comes in?

Hi friends Smiley  Great work @doktor83.  I have a few Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB cards.  This is perhaps a more general BIOS editing question than tool specific, as I'm having a hard time making the "right" (or magical?) edits to obtain the hash speeds that many claim to be 29-30MH/s.

I've uploaded the stock BIOS here:  https://mega.nz/#!5rgUgKbC!S3b2-z6TZ9CXOi6wXJzqFFE8SDE8xIqwz2MZJTdQdlc

I've tried a combination of copying the 1750 to upper, as well as in a different end result using the UberMix 3.1 timings found on OCN (http://www.overclock.net/t/1604567/polaris-bios-editing-rx5xx-rx4xx)

From a newb BIOS editing perspective, I've been reading that simply copying 1750 up should do most of the work.  However, with this specific card I'm getting 24MH/s with that edit.  And other cards aren't getting nearly to 30MH/s.

So my question, friends, is if you could help identify what I'm doing wrong.  I'm setting these to 1100/2100 with stock and modded BIOS and not getting any good results.

back to work for now. happy mining folks.

question for anyone - if youre using the picopsu and have multiple rigs hooked up to Finsky's 4kw PSU - how would you remote cycle a machine that's locked up ?  Or, if you physically reboot a machine but are using the PSU for multiple machines (say, 21 GPUs across 3 rigs), do you have to power cycle all 3? I thought the cards have to be cycled a few moments after the board is turned on or cycled. Does the picopsu adapter do that trick ?
7  Economy / Scam Accusations / DirectBet should pay up on: July 06, 2016, 02:07:16 PM
I submitted 3 x 50 ETH bets for the same parlay on July 4th.  The first 2 bets were confirmed but the last bet was just.. no where.  The bet was placed about 1h20m before the first game started.  After no confirmation I e-mailed them with 1 hour left before the 1st game started.

I got a response 4 hours later letting me know there was a bug with their ether wallet/code on the transfer not going to my bet

Basically I won 100 ETH parlay @ 3.34 odds and the final 50 ETH was returned to me.

Do you think if it was a losing parlay they would have offered to send the money back?  Or done me a favor and said, "oh yea, it was in play, and in our wallet" ?  They claim they take the same action regardless.

My risk tolerance for this specific parlay was 150 ETH - if I had sent another 50 ETH (200 total), they could just as easily opted to confirm all bets minutes before the event started.  My 50 ETH was in limbo, in THEIR wallet, for hours, with no response.  What do you think?

I've posted a few times around and Peeps Place has taken them off of the ratings guide
8  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of SPORTSBOOKS. Please post any payout delays. Input wanted from all. on: July 05, 2016, 05:22:03 PM
I'm biased negatively towards DirectBet because of multiple bad experiences.  Their customer service (responses) have been professional, thought out, and overall good.  However, I feel cheated and in a "lose lose" situation when I bet on their book.  If I bet 50 ETH and I send an e-mail about the 50 ETH staying in their wallet for 4 hours (requiring manual intervention on their end) and not confirming my bet, all I ask is for a TIMELY response back.  I think 4 hours to respond is not reasonable.  Especially when I'm over 2500 ETH put in play in July alone.  Oh, and then there's the fact that my 3:1 parlay won and didn't get paid out. Smiley

I've used Nitrogen and I've had great experiences so far.  The only reason I'm using DirectBet is because of ETH, but I'm sure that will change soon.

Lutro0 has also informed me that he has emailed everyone the timetable and will update it again after the work day tomorrow.

If you have already gotten your cables feel free to share your thoughts.
13  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [WTS] GridSeed PCI-E Modded Power Cables [pre-order] on: March 24, 2014, 05:13:05 AM
Is there a reason why to each "branch" is say's you need the "trunk" ? Can I not plug in the "branch 10" into the PCI-e on my PSU to power 10 units from each pci-e output I have?

I'm not sure of the exact pinout of the branches and I don't have them with me right now.  I will talk to Lutro0 ASAP to find out.  The original point was to be able to hook up 45 gridseeds to one PCI-E cable with a trunk.  I see your point, for sure.

Lutro I emailed you guys about making a change to my order please get back to me if possible

Lutro0 (Mike) is travelling right now but they are very good about making changes and modifying orders.  If you don't get a response tomorrow please PM me and I will look in to it!

I have some more pictures of my actual setup...

Not as pretty as I hoped to make it, but I didn't want to spend more time on it.  Plus I have a lot of space to work with so I didn't need to do anything crazy.

I must say they are prettier than DIY cables and kept me really organized and neat.  No lose ends, all shrink wrapped and pretty.  The ends may be a little ugly because they are terminals because that's the fastest thing we could find to get all the preorders out today.  At some point I do want to power up my units Smiley

Got my first set of cables today and wanted to take some pictures ASAP.  The GridSeeds were powered up before using old shitty cables.  I've taken some pictures to just show off the sleek look that Lutro0 Customs have put on these bad boys.

What connections are those? 6 pin PCIE --> 3 (6pin PCIE)? What gauge wires are those? 300 watts per pcie cable? (6pin/8)...?

They are 6pin Males to 3x 6pin Females,

The branches will have Male connectors to connect to the Females on the trunks, we set them up like this so nothing gets plugged in the wrong way.

I am using 16awg cable that can handle anything a PSU can put out.

Just some more information, the PCI-E provided cables that come with PSUs are typically 16AWG.  They can "handle" around 600w, especially if your PSU is a single rail you can probably daisy chain $wattage / (7 * n-gridseeds).

A Silverstone ST1500 for example, could potentially power up 200 grid seeds .. if daisy chained correctly (although I think the amperage on the PCI-E is limited at some point).

We've thought through this, and the way we're doing it seems to be the most logical and the safest method.

Product Summary
I've teamed up with expert Modder & Cable Sleever Lutro0 Customs (http://lutro0-customs.com/, http://www.overclock.net/u/135653/lutro0, and http://www.facebook.com/lutro0customs) to create a few must-have products for the new wave of Gridseed ASICs coming. Let's be honest, the power supplies are crap, and the kit isn't really plug and play.  If you're getting a Gridseed unit, you get the actual unit, the USB cables, and buy your own hub. The rest is bloat because you either don't end up using it or you have a custom solution that better suits your needs (toss the controller, PSUs).

That's where Lutro0 Customs and I come in. We've come up with a concept for power cables that hook in to your existing PSUs (6 pin PCI-E required).

We have found a major design flaw with the so called Gridseed "Plug & Play" kits. The provided power supplies are cheaply made, smell bad, and possibly dangerous. You need to have some wire, electrical tape, and some DIY attitude to even get them hooked up.

That's where we come in - to provide you a real way to power up your Gridseed ASICs without having to possibly damage them. We do all the dirty work for your DC power adapters and even offer you a way to daisy chain them and hook up to 45 Gridseeds* (put * at bottom stating in scrypt mode only @ 7w max each) per PCI-E cable. We call it the Gridseed Power Trunk (GPT).

GPT is a modular system that will give you a trunked cable that can branch off in to - you guessed it, Gridseed Branch cables. There will be 3 versions of the branch cable - the 5, 10, and 15. In order to use the branch cables, you must have at lease one trunk cable. That trunk cable supports up to 3 branch cables of any type. We have created the GPT system to be easy to install and made to only connect one way so that you don't accidentally hook them up wrong.

Full Customization
Your cable can be as plain or as custom as you like. We offer Paracord and Teleios Sleeving in over 70 colors and even more combinations! We can even make them with colored wire if you like. The prices you see on the product page are for basic black cables and sleeved cables. But we will offer fully customized cables in different colors, length, and style or connectors that you would like. If you want to be be able to directly connect to your PSU all you need to do is contact us at Info@lutro0customs.com.

Lifetime Warranty
Lutro0 Customs has been making custom power supply cable for years now. With countless PSU units and extensions being finished and showcased around the world you can buy with confidence knowing your cables are put together with expert experience.
This is why we are confident enough in our products to offer a lifetime warranty on all cables. If you accidentally break it or the cable breaks from use or wear then you ship the cable to us and pay for the return shipping and we will repair or make a new cable for you asap. We are the only custom cable sleever or cable maker that offers this kind of warranty. So buy with confidence knowing also that nobody has ever needed their cable repaired.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
All of these cables are meant for single mode scrypt, however they can be used any way you like as long as you use discretion and make sure you don't push your PSU and cables to far. The cables are made to be rugged and last a lifetime out of years of making cables no one has ever burnt one.
A PCI-E cable can typically handle up to 325w (that's pushing the limit, so 5 Gridseeds in dual mode will be your limit).  At 325w limit, we're estimating 7w per unit and you can hook up 45 units per Trunk when maximizing the connector options.  Theoretically if you have a Silverstone ST1500 (comes with 4 PCI-E connectors), you can get 180 gridseeds hooked up with 4 trunks and 12 x Branch 15s. This scenario will consume about 1260w.

Products

Trunk
  • The trunk will have a 6pin male PCI-E connector that hooks up to your existing PSU. (note: you must have a 6pin PCI-E connector.)
  • It will branch off in to 3 12" "trunks" that feature a 6pin female PCI-E connector. (note: This is set up so there is no confusion on how to plug them in.)
  • These will be customizable in terms of length, just let us know and we can work something out. (note: For custom lengths please make your order and then contact us at info@lutro0customs.com.)
