I tried mining again at http://pool.bytecoin.in (username: TheSwede) and don't seem to be registering shares even though GUiminer is accepting and solving. Have checked upsername (workername), port and all other settings. Running the Stratum @ 3334 I can't see any share submitted under the username TheSwede recently. Double-check that you have not made a typo and remember that the format is username.worker for username. Let me know if you still have problems after checking the above.

Some alt coins don't even bother making address validation, which is very irresponsible. Users can easily send coins to a wrong chain, causing big trouble or even total loss. Case in point: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=180518.0Bitcoin -- BTE -- TRC I wonder if there are others. Why including BTE on your list? You can't send BTE to a BTC (or any other) block chain address. Are you positive on this? I am surprised. I think having its own address validation should be made as a minimal requirement for any altchain dev. You don't need your own address validation routine, it is already on the main Bitcoin code and with minimal tweak you can adapt it to your chain. Take a look on the base58.h file, the PUBKEY_ADDRESS constant is what rules if an address is compatible with your chain or not. If any other altcoin doesn't change it and has the same Bitcoin address format, then you are right, but that doesn't apply to us. Have you tried sending BTE to a BTC address or vice-versa? You should. This is the output of the rpc console of the Bytecoin client when you try to send BTE to a BTC address: > sendtoaddress 18as8p5DbgkhPihRcHrHNgc2uDkh4NH1vK 1 < Invalid Bitcoin address (code -5)

Hey guys Whats the bytecoin reward per block? I can't find the info anywhere.
50 BTE, the same as on Bitcoin.

|
Updated the pool's design, enjoy!

|
What it was the miner that you were using when the shares did not count? Also, the stats are updated every 1~2 minutes so they don't appear at the instant.
|
|
|
Your reward will show when a block is found, i'm working in better info/stats for the miners btw.

Anyone having any luck solo mining with about 300mhash? I'm mining in a pool now but kinda want to switch.
At that speed you will see some coins faster in a pool than in solo, i recommend this one: http://pool.bytecoin.in/Good luck!

We lowered the min withdrawal amount from 1 BTE to 0.01 BTE. Enjoy!

Until there is a stable exchange to pull BTE rates from. The rate is just OVER 9000 as its incredibly unrealistic Once I have a decent amount of BTC (Minng) The site will go 'live' and actually start paying people a nominal amount of BTE - Depending on how much BTC i have to start will depend on what the BTE per hit will be... I also need to find some BTE related sites to link to. BTE is extremely new so not much..even exists Will probably throw a few BTE Mining Pools into the rotation that I can find. Don't forget this one http://pool.bytecoin.in/ fwiw, i'm just working on building bytecoin-qt for mac os, will post it if successful..
That will be great! Speaking of that pool, Can you lower the minimum withdrawl! to like 0.05 or so, more then enough to be sent with little to no tx fee UPDATE; My Unconfirmed: 0.82169320 BTE balance just shot up quite a bit. 1BTE withdraws might be more feasible then I originally thought However CPU Miners could benefit from the lower withdraw rate. Yes you are right, i'm lowering the min withdrawal to 0.01. Thanks.

We are working in a rework of the pool that will include a (good) design, new payout algorithm (like suggested above) and more functions like normal pools. Keep tuned.
In the meanwhile you can feel safe mining here, your coins need to get 120 confirms before they are available. We have under 0.5% of stale shares and we have solved more than 500 blocks already! You will not lose any submitted share, it will be credited instantly to your account after finding a block. Miners of any hashrate are welcome in our pool!
