1  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-09] Bitcoin Price Hits $1750 as Trade Volumes Continue to Soar on: May 09, 2017, 07:55:12 PM
Today's price for Bitcoin generally beats all records within a few days, even there is a very big increase to growth. On the one hand, this is all expected and on how it happened, but on the other hand there is something to be alarmed, because as statistics show last year for rental frost there should be a similar collapse.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2017, 07:51:57 PM

Thanks for the detailed explanation. One more question.

If you have multiple hardware wallets with the same seed, do they all update when you perform a transaction on one of them?

Or if you have multiple copies of the seed, do the transactions travel with the seed in case your original hardware is destroyed  and you have to rebuild on new hardware with the same seed??

First question: Yes, of course. It's basically the same as if you have your software wallet in multiple computers.

Second question I don't understand it well. If you want to have access to the same addresses you had you need to rebuild another device or a software wallet with the same BIP39 seed. Also, you can configure the device with a different seed if you want. And there's much more to it.... you can establish a passphrase (besides the regular pin) that depending on which one you enter it will access a different set of addresses (as if it had a different seed... plausible deniability, etc...)

Really, just buy one, it's a good thing.

Thanks again. I guess I'll have to read up on BIP39.

As long as I don't have to trust any hardware manufacturer and (or anyone else besides the Bitcoin network) and my coins are secure in the case of hardware loss, I'm all for it.

You're convinced me enough to buy one (or two) just to use as a landing place when I break one of my older multi-coin paper wallets to reassign the coins. That will give me a chance to experiment with worst-case scenarios after I've drained it of all but a few satoshis.

As you said, the cost of a Trezor is negligible compared to the coins it holds at today's prices.

You might also like to know that they (Trezor, at least) can:
1) store passwords for your web site/email/etc authentications
2) generate secure passwords for the above so you no longer need to try to remember lots of slightly different passwords for those sites
3) act as a u2f 2 factor identification device (so you don't lose access if your 2fa device is lost - unlike otp 2fa like google authenticator).

AND ... all of the above is restored whenever you initialize a new device with the seed. Smiley

You can easily restore all the final data, Even if the saved passwords are deleted. And that I think that every user works in this plan in his own way.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: May 09, 2017, 07:48:10 PM
The worst decision i've made so far concerning bitcoin was actually selling my first whole bitcoin when the rate was around the $400 mark.  Admittedly, i wasn't really a crypto enthusiast at the time, i sort of got it quickly.  I wish i had kept it because now it seems to take forever to be able to earn 1BTC due to price.
You can be pitied today clever and first of all even for not making an investment in Bitcoin a couple of years ago. Even then, as there was a significant increase in 2013.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: May 09, 2017, 07:40:13 PM
Revive the old threads day!

I would never sell ALL of my bitcoin. Instead I would sell what I needed for that month because we all know bitcoin will only go up over time.

Bitcoin is sold for various reasons, or because there is no other income, or because it has lost faith in the fact that Bitcoin can continue to generate revenues in the future.
5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The problem with atheism. on: May 09, 2017, 07:37:56 PM
It seems to me that religion is the continuation of politics. Atheists are people who have their own opinion and do not suffer when they are run. Religion is fake, but it is beneficial to the state and why politicians support religion. Maybe because atheists less.
In fact, one can understand why atheists are so strongly opposed to believers and God Himself. Maybe these are the very people who are disappointed or faced with very strong problems. But the bulk of them just went after someone who can talk convincing.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does experience matter in gambling? on: May 09, 2017, 07:30:07 PM
Of course, experienced gamblers are always better than gamblers who have no experience. Because experience can help when there is no luck on your side. In a game cards for example, experienced gamblers will use their analytical skills because they already have experience.

I agree experienced player knows what they are doing.  They can adjust their gameplay according to whatever scenario it is.  They can also handle pressure and most of all can even handle their emotion so that it will not affect they gameplay in a  gambling games.  Even though gambling result is randon, experience player know how to play with the randomness of the machine.
But still few people managed to deceive the car because the algorithm of the machine is really unpredictable. Most of the time I believe in the fact that many players win only thanks to luck and not more.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: May 04, 2017, 04:27:47 AM
We need to understand the extent to which Bitcoin is being introduced into the real life of the common man. To love in the first place a person uses money because of their simplicity in circulation. So Bitcoin can put the user in an awkward position, because the difference of local money people to use Bitcoin should have a quest appropriate education.

Your method needs to be posted publicly.
Everyone is experienced now and no one wants to get scamed into these mining, doubling websites.
If you believe your method is not one of these fake terms i described, you can PM me
It's good if Bitcoin users trust each other and use the practice. Quietly, someone informs about some circumstances what happened to them. I still can not get used to that, or you can trust someone else's opinion.

Работать вообще вредно, от работы кони мрут. Wink

10  Other / Off-topic / Re: what kind of gambling kind do you like? on: May 04, 2017, 04:10:06 AM
Playing poker or any card games with a real player or with friends with or without bet .But it is much fun playing with friends and some unishments if you lose.
Play with friends without bets is a good time, but I've seen the unique, which even simple checkers turn into a gamble.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel shameful for being a gambler? on: May 04, 2017, 04:03:59 AM
Nope, I feel cool. I like people to talk about how much I gambled (makes an image of a wealthy man as I am).

Felt shame only in the past when I took loans to gamble and had stolen money from my parents. Dumb I was when I was younger

You should definitely feel ashamed for doing those things in the past. I guess you must have learned your lesson about stealing money from parents just for gambling. You must already know that it would not bring any good in you and would only cause you trouble.

As for me, I think there is nothing to be ashamed for in being a gambler as long as you know for yourself that you did not do anything wrong just to gamble.
Well if he at least took something from that and became a better person thanks to this experience then who are we to judge?
Probably the statistics itself says that in most cases, gambling drives people to bad deeds, and this already starts to remind me of drug addiction.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Japan is one of the leaders in the world in number of suicides. on: May 04, 2017, 03:56:34 AM
As for China, this is a result of the One Child Policy. They are trying to reverse it now because of the aging population but it seems people are not interested in having more children.

The Chinese population is around 1.4 billion, and despite the one-child policy, the population is still growing. Analysts expect the Chinese population to grow until 2030. Without the one-child policy, the situation could have been disastrous.
I don't see any disaster. In China people are not starving. Moreover, the Chinese produce a lot of industrial goods to the world and even export food. Until will continue these trends, the disaster will be.
Do you think the problem is overpopulation of the country? But according to your example, China lives even more densely and there the problem of suicide is not so acute.
13  Local / Политика / Re: Как изменилась Россия? on: May 04, 2017, 03:38:45 AM

14  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: Best investment in 2017? on: May 01, 2017, 11:38:28 AM
Best investment is to buy Bitcoin and hold it or use the bought Bitcoins to invest in a casino bankroll. For me this is the best investment, but maybe there is an ocult investment only few people know and are earning a lot of money from it and won't tell others about the method. There is always something like this happening, if many people know about the method, the method becomes worthless for all.
[1]Casino bank roll is not good in my mid, [2]Just with a little amount and we can't get a decent profit from there. I think vslice has offered best dividends for the investors rather than casino bank roll.
[3]Bitcoin alredy being best investment for us, just hold them and try to wait until the price goes higher than before. With lower risk and it's really good investment in my mind.
[1] To be honest, they are good. There are a lot of people making profit from investing their money on gambling sites. Why are they want to risk their money on gambling sites? Because they think gambling sites/casino will always win because there is house edge, which will make people lose in long run.
[2] No matter what kind of investment you want, you can't make decent profit if you only invested small amount. If you want earn decent profit, you must risk decent money too. The only ways how to earn decent money from small amount are chasing lottery/jackpot in some casinos or investing in some shitcoin on yobit and hope they will get crazy pump.
[3] Remember when bitcoin has reached $1200 in 2013 and then falling down to $300 in 2015? People were thought same like you say now.
You also remember that every person who I ventured to invest my money in Bitcoin, when the price hit, today their state has increased several times, so there is less risk of drowning in Bitcoin than playing gambling.

16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which one to buy? Stocks Houses Gold or Bitcoin or Bonds? on: May 01, 2017, 11:24:23 AM
Apparently none of those according to zerohedge:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-29/last-remaining-cheap-asset

The article does not mention bitcoin since it is an highly speculative asset but it says that every other asset out there already overpriced because of the FED's money printing policy. Every other asset but "grain".
It doesn't make sense to me to fill my home with grain bags though it might become handy in wwIII.

If all assets are overpriced, Bitcoin is too. Because of quantitative easing, money has flown into almost all assets.
The only reason why grain prices haven't taken off is that governments will not allow a basic need like food to become very expensive.
You forget one circumstance that it is the government that is cashing in on the sale of food products, including grain, and the people of the country that is the producer.
17  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-29]Markets Update: Bitcoin Price Rise Climbs to Uncharted Territory on: May 01, 2017, 11:10:35 AM
This increase is sustainable.

To a certain extent that might be true, but we can't just assume that the market will continue to go up without experiencing some pull backs. If speculators get the impression that the momentum is slowly fading away, then they won't hesitate to cash out a large portion of their profits, resulting in a correction. Honestly, I don't think we are very far away from reaching that point. I say the top for now will be $1400 to MAX $1450, where after that a correction will happen. I use Bitstamp as reference exchange.

Would it be nice if bitcoin can sustain this price? However, I doubt it will, there will be a few dumps here and there that will pull back the price just a little. Personally, I don't feel comfortable with this price because sooner or later, as you said, people will cash out to make some profit and we can't blame them for that. Its like we are all waiting who will make the first move, then panic selling occurs enough to pull the price down but I'm not expecting to get as low at sub $1000.
With the Bitcoin market it always happens that way and it seems to me that the administration of exchanges of exchangers plays a huge role in this. They are always in this situation carrying out information pressure on users thereby provoking price jumps and huge dropping of currency on the market.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great way to make Bitcoin! on: May 01, 2017, 10:58:41 AM
Invest in bitcoin mining you can earn a lot but it depend in h/s that also depend in you hardware you buy it a great ways to earn bitcoin also we know that it getting harder to mine because of so many miner's this days but still a great ways.
investment in mining would be only good if you do it in a proper and large way. the mining equipment and electricity cost thousands of $$.. so if you really wanna make profit than you have to do it on a large bases.
That is the main essence of earning money. If it is good to invest your earnings in getting Bitcoin, then naturally it is not cheap pleasure that wants profit sufficiently weighty.
