Going ASIC (mining is completely centralized), forced KYC on a privacy coin.. A *UCKING PRIVACY COIN... Dragging on exchange integration to the point where the main exchange gets hacked & liquidated. Cryptopia. Jesus christ.. Cryptopia was the biggest exchange this coin had since launch... unbelievable. Fan *ucking tastic job team. I have never seen a more competant development team (yes I'm being sarcastic).

FFS not even XRP a fricken Bank backed coin requires KYC. I don't know whether to laugh or cringe.

if it was at least a trade off between them, vega56 1800mhs, rvii 2800mhs on monero, rvii is 50% shorter on computing performance than it was supposed to be and yet it costs 50% more, not worth, brainwashed trolls will make it to be worthy, trust me.
Give it time, Mr Doom & Gloom.
Unoptimised drivers, unoptimised miners - that's what we're mainly dealing with currently. Vegas were allegedly crap until somebody found out they weren't, remember?

Well the Radeon VII isn't running on a new architecture. It's essentially a Vega 56 on a smaller node with higher bandwidth and memory bus. The smaller node allows it to clock at the 2-2.1Ghz range giving it that big boost in performance. I doubt drivers will do much more than we are seeing already. The performance numbers make sense based on what we know from Vega 10 (which is essentially Vega 20 at 14nm).

I just got done with a bit of testing on my Radeon VII. I can confirm XMR V7 & V8 can be pushed to 2700-2800h/s (can be pushed near 3k if you have a well binned card that can undervolt better than mines) using SRBMiner. ETH my card can hit 93Mh/s. So far this card is very meh for mining. I would still go with vega 56s for cryptonight and polaris cards for ETH.

Are you talking about a stock Vega 56, or one modded to a 64?

When it comes to mining you should always asume modded. My V56s can do 2050H/s @ 165W at the wall. My VII does 2800H/s @ ~230W or so. Not worth it in my opinion. I'll keep my V56/64 farm going. If they drop to around 500 USD then yea I'd go for it but with limited supply and @ 700USD it's very meh imo.

Image below incase anyone wants to see the rates.

What's up?

Here are some news from developers published on Guithub i bring you here:

"As we prepare for the upcoming hard fork we must add important parameters to the API and secure the blockchain from double spend attack. The network is poised for growth and our recent updates were successful in production. We're implementing new technology in our full stack mobile application, known as zk-PARKS, which will be the technology behind the usages of Electronero parking and Electronero smart contracts. This is the best way I can describe zk-PARKS is in the implementation behind the voting methods employed during the use of electronero smart contracts and parking powered by zero knowledge proofs theory. Through the use of zero-knowledge proofs, a method by which one party (the prover Bob) can prove to another party (the verifier Alice) that she knows a value x, without conveying any information apart from the fact that she knows the value x. Something otherwise concealed through cryptography. Many parties may be involved through participation in public groups. In the example, only Bob and Alice have proof.
In our example, Bob the Founder orders contract, and receives zero knowledge proof. Receives a contract profile with a link to invite participants. Many users join and have the opportunity to interact with the Contract. Knowing that it's an environment built around zero-knowledge proofs only Bob and Alice would know if Bob or Alice participated in the contract through verifiable blockchain proof.

We're making use of a new protocol! zk-PARKS, which will be the technology behind the usages of Electronero parking and Electronero smart contracts. The acronym zk-PARKS stands for “Zero-Knowledge Private Interactive Argument of Knowledge,” and refers to a proof construction where one can prove possession of certain information, e.g. a secret key, without revealing that information, and without any interaction between the prover and verifier.

-Fix Ubuntu 18 build

Electronero Core team has been looking for ways to improve everyday since our launch. We’ve realized that there are just some inherited issues from the parent fork that need to be dealt with head on. The supply is the first issue brought up. So, we’re drastically reducing the supply on ETNX, and as a result of a chain split during an upcoming hard fork a new coin ETNXP Electronero Pulse will be formed…

Electronero Global Consensus team has held a vote over the last few weeks, and during the vote at which time there was a world wide caucus which was held online. The outcome of which is that a decision must be made to accomplish the goal, a common goal which is that of to present a healthy coin to the community. Our contributions have included smart wallet, mobile first development, GPU & CPU miner awareness, training and user support, 24/7 support around the world accessible through telegram and discord. Our caucus was held through votes from world wide participants. And the message was clear, loudly heard around the world. The coin he needs our attention. The coin must live and to satisfy the demand vs supply logic which is in turn crushing the coin potential. We have decided that we must preserve the integrity of the coin and this is our duty from day one.

We as Electronero are a hard fork of Electroneum, ETN is our shared genesis, but we hold no ties to the ETN development or any of the founders and we object to most of their decisions. And so Electronero Core team a unique operation, we have built a segregated alternative and have operated with many complex implementations such as flexibility of ring signatures, Cryptonight Fast algorithm, camel emissions distribution, many attack mitigation tactics, mobile interactivity, most of all user support to a growing world wide community.

Both ETNX Electronero and ETNXP Electronero Pulse have support from participating exchanges, the community, and the core development team. Solid plans have been put in motion for both.

Electronero Global Consensus team has held a vote over the last few weeks, and during the vote at which time there was a world wide caucus which was held online. We as Electronero are a hard fork of Electroneum, ETN is our shared genesis, but we hold no ties to the ETN development or any of the founders and we object to most of their decisions. “We are aiming to have new mobile and web interface with updated road maps out by the end of the month on block 407,001 estimated to arrive on August 30th, 2018” — Mark Evans (lead blockchain architect)

This is an exciting time for the Electronero community as we continue to work through our road map bringing the latest and greatest to our users, present and future!

At this point all exchanges that have ETNX listed have agreed to update ETNX and nearly all have voted in support of the fork ETNXP. You will be able to take part in the fork if you have your ETNX parked in the mobile app or deposited to one of our Exchange Partners.

I hope this is a damn joke. Who the hell wrote this crap? You can barely understand it with the choppy English. These people either have no idea what they’re doing or they’re trying to milk more money out of people by creating another damn coin. They make a huge deal about the supply and only cut it in half? What the fu** are they stupid? No wonder ETNX is dead. Look at the net hash, only 400-500Kh/s worth of CNV7 hash rate mining it.
What a joke.

They don't even explain what's going to happen to the old ETNX fork. Is it going to die? Are they going to support both? They don't explain shit, all they say is "there will be two coins". They don't even mention anything about the CLI wallets in regards to the fork. Only the stupid phone and exchanges? Jesus are these developers 12??

Grin still no clarification fyi. Great meme.

Yes, my Vega 56s do the same thing with fast algo.  Still no explanation as to why.

IDK neither because its the same code as V7, only that it uses half the iterations as normalV7.
Everything else is same.

Have you tried what i suggested earlier to use 112/16/2 ?

That actually fixed it for 2 of my rigs. The rest had a couple/few cards improve but still had like 1-2 cards dropping off. I'm contempt with that. Thanks for the suggestion, gave me a nice little hashrate bump!

Anyone else having issues with Vegas on CN-Fast? I have multiple vega rigs that give lower numbers than expected. It seems only 3-4 cards will give the appropriate hashrate while the rest take a ~300 drop for some reason. This happens to both 56 rigs and 64s. All my rigs have minimum 200GB of virtual memory on the systems. It's really wierd. Doesn't happen with CN-LiteV7, StelliteV4 or regular CNV7 only with CN-Fast.

All rigs are using Adrenalin 18.6.1. I have tried all the miners from V1.6.1- 1.6.7.

This is a Vega 56 rig:

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: August 04, 2018, 10:28:08 PM
"Only in the crypto world is an ROI in under a year for equipment "too long."

Yeah...theres a good reason for that Smiley  Anyways once everyone gets their 5000 BCUs then good luck with the difficulty on the coins.  At least they will have some more mainstream algos because all the small ones will have their profit reduced to rubble in the end.

A huge part of that logic is the fact that technology advances so fast. Making ROI very difficult for older architectures/nm processes. Look at the antminer D3, many people bought at the wrong time and never ROIed since the tech train never stops moving.

Look at the Baikal Giant N for example. They were selling them each for 3800USD in the first couple weeks. A boat load of people bought when all the CryptoNight ASICs were being launched and will never ROI (not even close). They are selling for 200-400USD now 3 months later since the networkhash went up 10X on certain coins.

I highly doubt FPGAs are the future of mining. There's a reason it hasn't been so for the past decade. I do however think FPGAs are in a pretty good spot as of today (we are in the middle of a transition point from GPU to ASIC) but once coins stop forking against ASICs (ASICs are the inevitable future) will be the end of FPGAs. I personally don't see the hype behind it, if anything the bitstream devs are going to be the real winners here.

Look at the top 20 coins today compared to 2 years ago.. Almost every single one that is mineable is an ASIC algo. A couple years ago it was about half and half. ASICs are clearly taking over. I think FPGAs will shine for a short lived while.

@whitefire990

I have checked out your website recently regarding bitstreams. I should say I am very confused if not disturbed having realized that there are no bitstreams available for public yet other than for 0xTocken. Hope you could bring some clarity here. When are you planning on releasing bitstreams for those top profitable algorithms you announced  in May - Keccak, Trubus, Phi1612 and Skuncash? Or did you change your mind for some reason?
It is obvious that we are interested to have bitstreams tfor mining top profitable FPGA minable coins available by the time the first batch is delivered or soon after. Otherwise these FPGAs (considering the price, short warranty and difficulties with resale) will only be a huge risk and a waste of money for non-developer miners...

Thanks

It takes quite a lot of work to transition a bitstream from private use to public use (with dev fee and anti-piracy).  Since my original post May 1, the crypto-landscape changed dramatically.  Luxcoin forked away from Phi1612, making Phi1612 useless.  Baikal began mining Keccak with X10 ASICs, making Keccak non-profitable (and also Digital Cruncher released Keccak for the FPGA as well).  The few coins on Skunkhash collapsed, making it so that Skunkhash can only support 2-3 FPGA's at the moment.  The network hash rate on Tribus went up 4x (and also Digital Cruncher released Tribus first),  so what this all meant is that it was better to focus on high-profit coins for public release rather than package-up old bitstreams that are useless.  0xToken is available now, and I am releasing another algorithm on August 11, and four more in early September.  I am no longer going to announce which algorithms will be launched, since it was my original announcement of Phi1612 that was a major factor in LUXcoin forking (in hindsight I should have just launched the bitstream without ever announcing it first).

I hope that clarifies things.  If you still want Tribus and Keccak, you can download them Digital Cruncher's github.  Phi1612 and Skunkhash are available on Sprocket's github, although it isn't really worth installing them.

So basically what I'm getting from all this is, it's very time consuming releasing bitstreams for the public which makes FPGAs vulnerable to forks just like ASICs are. FPGA can't compete with ASICs and can be forked with fairly good success since developers working on bitstreams is scarce..

As a miner you're basically a sitting duck twiddling your thumbs hoping a bistream is released before the coin forks again.

Miners like STAK, SRB and Cast (for gpus) can release new revisions with new algos within hours of a fork.

Say Cryptonight V7 forks again to V8. How long would the wait time be for a updated bitstream?

Worktips v1.0.3 upgrade

Worktips v1.0.3 upgrade has been set to go through at the block height of 96000. Node owners please upgrade
your nodes from the latest source available here: https://github.com/worktips/worktipscoin before the block height of 96000.

Worktips v1.0.3 changelog (after block height 96000)

- block reward reduced to 1/3 of current
- new emission factor is 20
- new difficulty target is 90 (faster transactions)
- new LWMA-2 difficulty algo (better diff. adjustment)
- timestamp attacks will be ineffective
- increased 51% attack resistance
- new smoothing factor to prevent the drastic base reward drop (reward will go down
a few coins every 5 blocks instead of every block)

Worktips v1.0.3 CLI client

CLI clients v1.0.3 have been released and can be downloaded here: http://worktips.info or from the main repository.

Pool owners

Dear pool owners - please upgrade your pool's node before the fork height of 96000, and adjust the block speed in your pool software to 90, down from 120, after the fork height.

Thank you all very much!

That's excellent news! Thanks for the update. Quick response and fast implementations by the devs. Everything is looking great so far!

Where one can find information about coins emission? How is the distribution? How is block halving?

I'm also interested in knowing more information on this. It was posted a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything from the devs since about it. I'm ready to buy some Worktips but won't until the block reward is adjusted. Current block reward is absurdly high. The longer we wait the worse it will be since people will know early miners control a huge percentage of the supply. Please address this as soon as possible. This would really set it apart from all those other high supply coins and would bring in a lot of investors.

worktips Do you have a new plan for price control?
The introduction of master nodes is the best way to manage prices.
If you need about 10,000,000 WTIP per node, it will be good for liquidity management.

I believe they are currently working on updating the emission rate in order to reduce the block reward. They also going to implement the latest LWMA difficulty algorithm + other improvements. This will definitely help the value of the coin grow organically. So far I'm very impressed with the coin. Wallet works fantastic (this has got to be the fastest synching CLI/GUI wallet I've ever used). Very impressed at the refinement of such a young project.
