61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 5th of 40 Rounds on: August 14, 2017, 01:03:46 PM
I just received a fraction of a coin for keeping it open, and staking - but now when looking it states I am not staking because I have no mature coins. I tried restarting it, but its the same.

Am I missing something?

Yes my onions did not mature until about the second day then they did start growing... i mean staking. Smiley

Edit
Just found this on our site from a member groko "they drop in and out over time, sit tight and a portion will drop into stake.."

Also I think the more onions you have the better the stake..

Something seems off. More than 10hrs after it's still saying "Not staking because my coins aren't mature"

You should wait  24 hrs not 10 hrs...
But the airdrop for junior member network height is so high, that it says I will stake in sometime next year... And I guess that is because devs are minting blocks like crazy at the  moment...

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DeepOnions Profitability Calculator on: August 12, 2017, 01:36:30 AM
It's a spreadsheet not a calculator. The difficulty of mining greatly varies through the day as the retarget happens after each block. You could at least include the difficulty at which you 'calculated' the profitability.

To be honest I didnt realize it until now but if I would sell my sr member airdrop 1-4 @ lets say 3850 sat that would be 0.125btc. Around 440$ for free

Thank you very much  @crypto-rainbow and anonymous deeponion stuff
Willing to set more onions in my garden  Cheesy

Based on current order book of nova exchange you are looking at .1btc TOPS if you sell at bid price while bringing the price down instantly to 2k satoshis.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: August 11, 2017, 04:53:12 PM
anyone? Why there's no one except bots in this thread ? Whats the project rain thing? is it this lift of team limit or is it entirely something else?
Project rain, from what I understand, is when member of the group can reward the group as a whole with their own gridcoin. So if you rain 100 grc then it gets spit within the gridcoin group participating in that project, with the highest performers getting the highest relative percentage.

Who manages the 'rain' ? neural net?
And I don't get the reward part. So if I understood correctly some team 'xyz' (not team gridcoin) member sends his own GRC to his, lets say BAM account manager address and the that grc gets distributed along the members of that team, right? (makes little sense to me right now)

Does anybody now exactly know how this works out?

It think It's some kind of black box technology Cheesy Or at least we ask in the wrong page.
Whats up with the grc price ? Is it normal correction or something else?

And another question about magnitude.
I'm doing research with grcpool, it seems that my magnitude  is increasing about 1 unit per day (around 11 mag currently).
Can i calculate this magnitude increase to be stable in short term if I won't be shutting down hosts or increasing them?
And whats the period of RAC? More exactly what does Recent in RAC mean in terms of time?

it is quite interesting to see some big movement at the moment, any idea?

http://explorer.deeponion.org/tx/ccdd35b7dcf88f07c8a37b43fd3c873dee2dd510aa6296c16bd98845e3fd7cdd

You can trace back the transactions back to devs (I think) http://explorer.deeponion.org/tx/d8bf973547c142fb2734e44dcae7d16992f6f56f6e88a689631d4bc10c40e36b
I looks like this isn't a airdrop wallet the starting amount was 10 million Onion and it was passed around in batches of 100k and then smaller amounts periodically from address to address.
I think its probably bounty wallet of some sort.

lol, nice plan. Dump after airdrop , then buyback more cheap coins and send them back to wallet ^^

Watch the devs dump in small batches while laughing their asses off. (I am joking now but the rules and stubbornness on community proposed ideas concern the s**t out of me )

Quote
From the OP:
To avoid quick dumps, all accounts receiving distributions will need to keep 90% of the coins received on the account during the whole distribution/airdrop period. Any movements greater than 10% of the airdropped coin on the account will disqualify the account from receiving more coins in future distributions. Coins received from other means such as mining, bought from exchange etc. cannot be limited and can be freely traded.

we do this check currently before the payment we can start doing daily as well

If a user's balance is found to be 0 Onions on any day, we will suspend your BitcointalkID from future airdrops permanently.

we do this check daily

Dear crypto-rainbow, yes we can AND did read the Original Post so there is no need to spam this thread with copy paste information.
Better tell, what do you think about community idea that was proposed not by qoute from the Original Post.

Thanks.

Great idea. It most definitely would  increase not only volume on the exchanges, but the price also. As the ones who dumped their coins to exchanges would simply drive the price up when trying to buy back the coins for next airdrop.
I think devs should ease their ban on moved airdrop to only next and sequential  airdrops until the coins are moved back to airdrop address with the original amount wallet got airdropped (minus 10%) with simple algo.
as far as I know off you are allowed to sell more than 10%, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THEM BACK IN THE WALLET BEFORE THE NEXT AIRDROP! But please don't move any coins untill crypto-rainbow has confirmed this!

Yes it's possible, if you don't get caught  by random balance check. But the Idea is that you could move your coins AND be banned from airdrops until you move back the amount. It's a win-win.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: August 06, 2017, 04:49:31 PM

There was a user on steam it who proposed a new gridcoin logo, which is simpler and scales well with different sizes and is simpler (that's usually is one of the most important requirements in logo design). I know it costs a lot to change the branding for any product, but the proposed design and packet of branding materials are quite good.
https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@jringo/gridcoin-branding-update-2

Your project doesn't have MVP or any software. It would take a competent team like 3 months to build a MVP. Why should i invest?

Hi. You posted this in the wrong place. This is not the golem ann and unlike them we have a fully working product for a few years now!  Smiley Wink

Ha ha that's actually  funny.
But I think golem could do collaboration with gridcoin what is essentially win win situation.  Gridcoin devs actually have the brains and know-how and golem has the marketing and funding that would benefit grc.

Here's an idea I had (not sure if it makes sense, let me know): If I understood everything correctly, if you move more then 10% of your Onions you are banned from airdrop forever. This will limit dumping of coins to further participate in the airdrop, maybe driving the price higher. But it also means that there will be less overall trading volume on the exchange which doesn't attract bigger exchanges. If you would be banned for the duration where your wallet is lower than 90% airdropped amount but you are able to rejoin the airdrop later by re-increasing your wallet there could be much more volume on exchanges. People may dump all their coins and will be banned, except if they buy their coins back. All people could trade with higher volumes if they have enough coins when the airdrop happens.

Or is there any disadvantage I haven't thought of?

Was there any other alternatives for airdrop in your notebooks (@DeepOniondevs)? 1. For example instead of 10 posts/week for airdrop there could be 2 posts/day for airdrop (smaller but more frequent)? Not that the current model is bad, but we as 2. community can debate over such thing, right?

1. it doesn't give any noticeable difference with 10 posts per week and 2 posts per day (wich is equal to 14 posts per week).

2. sure it can.

To address first point - The difference you may find in the coin 'velocity'. Airdropped coins would have bigger 'user base' and the posts (think more users sees the signature) would distributed more evenly through the time, not the burst of posts that happens now when people spam the reminder of the required posts anywhere just before the airdrop day and  day after the airdrop. I don't have any statistics on that tho.

I've read somewhere that you are planning to integrate vpn support.
Will you use tor nodes as destination or how will this actually work?

Or will the wallet's be vpn servers ?

Very cool technology if you could make this work out of the box.

This can one of the plan after DeepSend and the Vote Central establishments. We don't know yet in China how the firewall works. There should be some VPN services can connect Tor. So they can sync.

From what I know both tor nodes and vpn services are illegal there and I would not have high expectations for Chinese market for DeepOnion. Btw Russia also banned VPN services. So there's a slash of the global market right off the bat.
