Yep and today I see my account at BTC-E is credited  Smiley Thank you all for the advice!

I notice they charge 0.01 bitcoins to withdrawl money - something to keep in mind I was surprised to find out

You withdraw to a wallet... id make a wallet at blockchain.info  , if you don't want to run the software (bitcoin-qt software)

My advice would be just to buy some coin rather then try to mine - I think it's a better value at this point

MB should be fine

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new at this whole Bitcoin mining thing and after watching it and following it for a couple months I decided to give it a go! I got my laptop mining but I'm only hitting 4.4 mhash/s which I know sucks and is relatively slow. SO I dug out my old desktop which has an nvidia geforce 6100 nforce 405 which again, I know sucks (and is too old to mine with!)

Anyways, the motherboard I have is an Asus M2N8-VMX with dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800. Is my motherboard too old to support any of graphics cards that are useful for mining??

Why did that happen?

10  Other / Beginners & Help / bitcoin-qt suggestions on: April 06, 2013, 02:02:31 AM
Some ideas I had for the bitcoin client:

It would be nice to click on the connections (in bottom right corner) and see who is connected to you. (IP addresses)

It would be nice if the Help had a help file, that explained what "verify message" does etc. The help isn't really a help screen at all!

Finally it would be nice to have an optional ticker that showed currency conversion next to BTC amount. I know that is not the point of BTC (comparing it to other currency) but an optional feature like this would be neat.

If I could program I would help!  Tongue

i wanted to imitate the kilobyte, megabyte system, because well its computerish, as is bitcoin. problem is this system builds on denominations by the thousands. ~1000 bytes is a kilobyte, ~1000 kilobyte is a megabyte. but the names are good because people already know them and can relate to them easily.

I agree, the sub-1btc names are terrible.

I like calling .00000001 a satoshi, so .99999999 would be 99 megasatoshi just as 99999999 bytes is 99.9 megabytes

So a transaction fee of 0.0005 BTC could be called 50KS or "kilosatoshi"

0.01 BTC is 1MS

etc

I love Bitcoin because I'm part of the first 1% to know about it!

Hello - I heard about bitcoin in 2010 and generated a few blocks (which I lost due to being ... stupid!). I'd like to post on the main forum. Thanks
