201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SHA256 - Fire Rooster Coin - 2017 Year of the Rooster on: January 21, 2018, 06:05:57 AM
It seems that the wallet has stopped syncing.

i thought this coin was long dead. it stopped syncing wallets since early last year. was surprised to still see it trading at cryptopia though

example:

so if plano natin magwithdraw ng 400k, prepare your answers and your documents.

204  Economy / Economics / Re: Bankers are killing the cryptocurrency market on: January 18, 2018, 10:15:01 AM
Nonsense. It's totally normal for bitcoin to drop like this. It has happened many, many times. Until we get down to $5000, it's barely even a crash.

i agree. this is normal. price goes up and then goes down. there will be a point when the trend changes. a rise will be followed by a fall, and then followed by another rise like a ball bouncing. the spikes are influenced by development, innovation, general good news. the downtrends are a reflection of market's reaction to the fud, regulation policies, and the like.

nobody is killing the market. the market will continue to thrive. the crypto economy is thriving and there's no stopping it.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin Down? on: January 18, 2018, 09:54:31 AM
that's the market's reaction to all the bitcoin buzz (true or not) like crypto exchange closures and trading bans, government restrictions, regulations imposed on companies offering exchange-like services, and generally fud spread by personalities who have very little knowledge of cryptocurrencies. it'll soon settle and price could once again rally.
206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why so many currencies? on: January 18, 2018, 09:45:38 AM
we don't have so many currencies.
* we have fiat and then we have bitcoin.
* then there are some altcoins like Litecoin and Monero that have been trying to act as a currency, they succeed a little.
* then we have lots of "tokens". just numbers on the screen created for trading alone.
* then we have lots of different "tokens" like ETH that are not even supposed to be a currency but people mistake them for a currency.

There might be a time in the future where bitcoin users will be begging for the anonymity some of these coins offer.

if you ponder on that further, you'll realize that all these "currencies" (the ones that have ongoing development at least or the ones  whose blockchains are never abandoned) somehow complements and supplements bitcoin. with bitcoin's limited supply, you can still have your supply of bitcoin or another cryptocurrency parked as one or other crypto like ltc, xmr, zec, eth, or any other crypto you hodl. you can just trade one for the other to have that other asset you want to shift to. the crypto space is amazing. just stick to those assets whose blockchains are not abandoned and have ongoing development. stay away from the scam ones  Wink
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: January 18, 2018, 09:29:45 AM
current events i.e government crackdown on exchanges and those that offer exchange-like services may affect the flow of money. if governments ban crypto trading and close exchanges, crypto traders will definitely move to overseas accounts that do not have cryptocurrency bans. this will lead to money outflow, which is considered undesirable. money outflow in effect, makes money of a particular country disappear, right? if the outflows become excessive, then that could lead to that country's economic instability....
208  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 18, 2018, 09:16:47 AM

209  Economy / Speculation / Re: When 20.000 again? on: January 16, 2018, 11:08:35 AM
In the Philippines, Coins.Ph has imposed limits on cash ins so those that wish to buy bitcoin can't if they have reached a certain limit. So demand for bitcoin is controlled. For example, if you are level 3 verified, you have a cash in limit of 400 thousand pesos a month. That's more or less 0.668441 btc or $7,926.29 usd a month. Once you've reached that much, you can't buy bitcoin until the counter refreshes.

So even if the demand is high, people who wish to buy, can't because of restrictions to making buy orders. So reaching $20,000 would probably take time if other exchanges and bitcoin buying outlets would do the same.

We are back online  !

it says "Error code 20" on my end. what does that mean?

211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will people lose intrest? on: January 13, 2018, 08:09:41 AM
Hello!

If bitcoin died do you think people will lose intrest in other cryptos aswell? which altcoin would you invest in if there were no bitcoin?

"If" bitcoin "died", would altcoins still exist?

I think bitcoin won't ever die. It could evolve though. Interest in cryptocurrencies then  would still grow since the world of cryptocurrencies is growing, changing, and progressing.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the classroom, yes or no and why? on: January 13, 2018, 08:04:18 AM
This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?

I suppose you can do that. You're teaching math and creating cryptocurrency awareness in the classroom.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ethereum be beat Bitcoin on: January 11, 2018, 06:26:19 AM
its base currency is still bitcoin so, it won't get to that point.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is creating money out of thin air on: January 11, 2018, 06:24:41 AM
Ex-RBI chairman said "Bitcoin is creating money out of thin air". It is biggest scam of all.   Angry

then he's referring to banknotes as well. creating money out of a blank sheet.

banknotes are just printed on paper and is backed by the word of the government. the government says that banknotes/fiat are valuable and the people believe it. when the government devalues money, or declares that a certain banknote series will no longer be accepted as payment, people will believe it. if you keep a large amount of that banknote series that was devalued by the government, that would mean you're instantly broke!
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea putting an end to trading through cryptocurrencies on: January 11, 2018, 05:46:49 AM
the news is saying that the government seeks to calm the frenzied demand for bitcoins - hence the crackdown/raids.

216  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-10]South Korea's major cryptocurreny exchanges raided by police, tax au on: January 11, 2018, 05:19:33 AM
According to the report, the Korean government is preparing a bill to ban cryptocurrency trading, more of a proposal. Couple of days Coinmarketcap removed South Korean cryptocurrency prices because of huge discrepancy, compared to international markey Korean investors were paying a premium of up to 40%. No wonder the exchanges were raided. In December Youbit went out of business after being hacked. South Korea might follow China, but it's more likely that they will come up with regulations, either way the impact would be short-lived.

I read the news here https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/10/south-korea-official-reportedly-readying-bill-to-ban-all-cryptocurrency-trading.html

So that's why bitcoin is dipping. It was at $12k level awhile ago. It's now up to $13,600 something. Bitcoin can still move past that level whether it'll be banned in South Korea or not
217  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 11, 2018, 04:56:31 AM
BAD NEWS!!

Transactions that contribute to your cash in limits are:

Cashing in to your peso or bitcoin wallet
Receiving payments to your peso wallet from another Coins.ph account
Receiving payments to your peso wallet from an external bitcoin wallet
Converting bitcoin to pesos  < ===== BAGONG RULES

It means we cannot convert all our BTC to PHP when BTC reach a new ALL TIME HIGH since there are 400k limit.

Currently my Limits are 400k daily cash in.. But other people who are also a level 3 verified account got a limit of 400k MONTHLY Cash in limit.

This is the worst thing that happen in coins.ph they are basically taking our BTC hostage when BTC reach a good price.  time too look for new alternative

Yup. Ayaw dagdagan btc ko. Hahahahaha kaya di na ako pinayagan mag-cash in! Kaloka sila nu?

yang image above ay cash in limits natin by level. Itong next image, cash in limit ko. hahaha, pansinin nyo yung monthly, zero na! bawal na daw ako mag cash in. sheesh.

218  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 10, 2018, 07:41:20 AM

219  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 09, 2018, 09:53:26 AM
Ako may panibagong concern. Bakit ganun?

So nagmessage ako sa support. Explain naman ako in detail with matching screenshots pa.

Ayaw nilang sagutin truthfully. hahaha.....

baka ibig sabihin nyan. basta2 nalang silang nag lilimit kahit hindi pa limit ang account. yan hirap sa coins, walang actions. kung meron man hindi sapat. nuon wala namang limit sa cash in basta level 3 eh. at hindi counted na cash in yung pag convert ng btc to php. eh ngayun? kinunsidera na nilang cash in yung pag convert! tsk!

yup. parang kinokontrol nila ang cash ins ngayon. kasi first and only transaction ko yung cash in ko na 40k. wala akong conversion from btc to php. kaso naabot ko na daw monthly limit ko. hay naku. asar eh.
