Also no.

I personally don't like automatic recurring payments. I like to know when I'm spending my money.
663  Other / Off-topic / Re: Trying to stop using Shampoo on: February 15, 2015, 05:04:06 AM
I used to use it everyday, then I did a test. I took 5 waterproof bags, put one inside the other so I had 5 layers of waterproof plastic. Then I put it in a shampoo bottle, let it rest in there for 3 hours and guess what? The shampoo had gone through all 5 plastic layers, I realized then how harmful it's got to be for your hair and your scalp when you rub it in..

I find a lack of logic here. How does shampoo breaking through plastic prove it's harmful for your hair? They're different materials, and the time of contact was also different: 3 hours in the plastic bags vs 1 minute (hopefully) in your head.

You need to work on your scientific method before making such claims.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: protocol modification question on: February 15, 2015, 04:49:30 AM
If the majority of bitcoin users's "wallet" are on big exchanges like coinbase,bitstamp,etc.., and these exchanges all agree to use a new blockchain and use the new software, then people won't even have the choice right?

The very moment you decide to send your bitcoins to Coinbase, etc. you no longer own and no longer control them. You now trust Coinbase to do the right thing. If Coinbase decides the right thing is to upgrade, then they will do it. If you don't agree with their decision, then your only option is to retrieve the bitcoins and be in control again of them.

Facebook and Twitter is not a forum, wrong comparison. Social media account  is very different from a forum account.

I don't know. Facebook Groups seem pretty comparable to forums to me.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending a "hamburger" through the blockchain on: February 15, 2015, 03:12:36 AM
That would be a colored coin, but I see it more cumbersome than simply paying for the hamburger.
How do you seal the hamburger irl to only be eatable by the owner?

You would need a serial number for the hamburger. Synthetic food much?

What if the coins you re receiving are crime coins? im paranoid about that.

There's no such thing as “crime coins”. There are crimes, and there are coins, but coins are not capable of committing crimes.

Sounds pretty fucking bad, not a very marketable name.

Nobody appreciates good puns.

Hmmm, do I have to download a fungus wallet? I don't want to infect my computer with a deadly, poisonous, fungi virus.

But fungi are not viruses.

Ethereum is Bitcoin

No.

The thing I don't understand about decentralized exchanges is how you get fiat into them. If you use a token like bitUSD then you have to ultimately go through a centralized exchange to get it. Is it possible to get real money into a decentralized exchange?

I am not sure I understand the question. Won't you be able to use bitcoins in these exchanges?

The problem is not using Bitcoin, but using fiat.

Where can we find more information about your micronation?

If you pick tweets at random, there's a high chance that they will be in a language you (or the participants) don't understand.

Monero

Yeah, what about it?
678  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: business idea on: February 14, 2015, 06:52:55 PM
but you'll need to make a lot of volume...

Yes, this solution can only work for mass production, otherwise it will be too expensive to do.
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SECURITY OF BITCOIN on: February 14, 2015, 05:30:57 PM
Kind of, because it can't be 100% decentralized if you involve fiat money.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SECURITY OF BITCOIN on: February 14, 2015, 04:54:16 PM
I agree that its possible there are only two situations.
But as for (2), I wouldn't say that the exchanges manipulated the user to send the bitcoin.
Some exhanges are considered safe and trustworthly, currently, so people use them (day traders),and if one day an attacker compromises their code or someone on the inside steals the bitcoins, I think it would be considered privatekey control loss, over the manipulated loss. But I guess it could be considered both in that event.
When I stated (2), I was intending a reputable exchange/bank, that goes rouge, compared to an outright scam exchange (like what mycoin.hk, seems to have been).

Yes, but from the moment you sent your bitcoins to a exchange, you no longer own them. You are trusting that you will get back either bitcoins or dollars, but there's no 100% certainty.

So you are saying that "trusting that you will get back either bitcoins or dollars" is the manipulation?

Not exactly “manipulation”, but yes, it's the point where you no longer have your bitcoins.
